I bought the 2-quart and 3-quart sauciers. The 5-ply, 3mm thick steel and aluminum layered construction make me confident they will last. The rounded walls and wider mouth make whisking and stirring easier. And the heat cooks evenly (my POP thermometer shows same temperature in every area) .The oval-shaped handle, not only helps with grip and leverage without cutting into my hand, but stays cool during cooking. I have not had trouble with the lid handle getting too hot either. I love my stainless-steel sauciers they really do the job!

I first purchased the chef's knife, which quickly replaced my previous favorite, a Wustof chef's knife. I love the weight, balance, and blade of the Misen chef's knife, and I use it all day long. I highly recommend this knife- it performs exactly as shown in the advertisements!I was so pleased with the chef's knife that I next ordered the paring knife. At first it felt a little bulky in my smaller-sized hand, particularly compared to my thinner, lighter Wustof paring knives, and it's definitely of a heavier weight. Having said that, I've realized that its heftiness makes quick work of the peeling and slicing tasks I use it for throughout each day. I must note that I was disappointed to discover that in a relatively short amount of time a small rust-colored spot ... MoreI first purchased the chef's knife, which quickly replaced my previous favorite, a Wustof chef's knife. I know that the manufacturer's instructions state that one should wash and dry the tools immediately after use. Sadly, my husband hadn't read those directions and one night in the dish drainer resulted in the rusty discoloration. Nevertheless, because the knife works so well, I recommend the paring knife and will likely buy more to give as gifts. Finally, I recently purchased the 3qt. saucier and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It conducts heat amazingly well, can hold a collapsible steamer, is perfect for rice, and more.

I've owned the 3QT size. It's great and I'd be happy getting a Misen for my 2QT saucier/sauce pan needs. The only issue, it hasn't been in stock for like a year. What gives? Is it discontinued? It would be highly helpful if Misen would put in estimated re-stock dates so that consumers can know to wait for a restock before moving on to another option.

I was looking for a medium sized pan where I can whip up soups, Indian daals etc., for a family of three. This saucier just fit the bill. Before this we had purchased a few other Misen pans and we were really happy with their quality and value. So when this one came out, it was a no brainer.Just opening the box, you could tell the thought process, the design considerations and the quality of craftsmanship that went into it. Things like handle sizing, the internal contours, the thickness of the walls, the finish, weight balance - everything is just perfect! From a functional standpoint, its my go-to pan. Heat retention and distribution is great. I didn't find any hotspots and the pan retains heat fairly well for a clad product. I also didn't see any issues with food sticking - as long as its brought to sufficient heat before introducing any food to it. I've also put it to WOK duties once. Surprisingly, it did fairly well. Lastly cleaning is a breeze.I'd recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat. Its an awesome deal.Misen you rock!
I love your pans. The weight, balance, heat transfer, seal of the lids, handle design, are all excellent. The aesthetic beauty and ease of cleaning can not be matched. I first purchased the beginner set with the 3 qt saucier pan. I liked it so much I then purchased the 2 qt saucier pan. I have limited cabinet space and these 4 pieces are easily tucked away. I also have a collection of your knives. 2 chef knives, a santuko, bread, mini-chef, and 3 paring knives. Their handle design and beauty, balance, edge retention are excellent. I built a custom oak slotted knife rack and they hang on the wall in my tiny home.
I already had the 2 qrt size pan, and the larger size, but lacked something in-between. Thus, the 3qrt. Saucier. The only problem I experienced was related to how I seasoned/pre-heated the pan. I thought I had followed the directions, but realized I had missed an important step. It caused discoloraqtion on the outside of the pan, and some food type stains on the inside. Contacted Customer Service and within the day I had the solution. Thanks to the Customer Tech for the assistance and quick response. And, oh yeah, it worked!
Have just received recently, with, thus, admittedly little experience. However, at unboxing, this pan presents itself as handsome (nice, though inessential if it works otherwise) and ergonomically well thought out. It is heavy (good heat retention and distribution), with a smooth, rounded handle that feels good to the grip and stable. Its bottom corners fit my whisk quite well, which I've found isn't always the case with more spendy sauciers. The finish is nicely polished, which should make it readily cleanable. All in all, I'm quite pleased with my purchase, as I have been with all of the Misen products I've bought: The original French chef's knife, the santoku, the steak knives, the nonstick pan set, and the carbon steel ones. None has disappointed, and I've become fussy and persnickety after forty-plus years of tackling lots of projects at the stove. I started out tentatively with their first offering, wanting to help a young, apparently eager entrepreneurial group get off the ground with their mission to bring good-quality, durable, FUNCTIONAL, accessibly priced cookery tools to a crowded, very much caveat emptor marketplace. I was willing to take a risk once. I've continued, because they've done that.At this point, I trust them to do what they say they do.
I’m not sure I will ever go back to using a traditional pot after using this saucier for the last 2 weeks. It’s built like a tank, heats evenly, the lid makes a great seal because it too is solid…. I even used it like a dutch oven to reheat a meal for one. The lip is perfect for pouring and the lack of edges make clean up a breeze. I like it so much I went back and bought the 10” stainless fry pan and it’s also amazing! I was turned off of stainless steel cookware because my experience with it was using cheap quality pots and pans. Misen is very high quality and even though I have several very expensive dutch ovens I am actually considering on getting the stock pot because I know it too will be excellent for any and all large tasks. Back to the saucier… if I was stuck on an island and only had one container for cooking and sanitizing water it would be the 3 qt saucier hands down. Built like a tank, pours like a dream, easy to clean, the lid makes a great seal…. Nuff said. Just buy it, they guarantee you will like it or your money back.
I purchased the 2qt & 3 qt versions. They are both well made, have good fitting lids and are fun to cook in. The thicker pans are a bit slower to heat up but they don't have any hot spots and wont burn food as easily as cheap thin pans. Cooking in stainless steel takes practice and a bit of learning so food wont stick. I purchased these just before Black Friday so I missed the sale but I am very happy with these 2 pots.
This is the best quality pan I've ever owned. I had a set of Wolfgang Puck stainless steel pans, and the 2qt failed (with the Wolfgang pans, there is a seam at the bottom that is basically glued; over time the seal can fail, and when that happens, every time you wash the pans, you get water INSIDE the metal layers of the pan, which means every time you cook, boiling water and steam sputter and escape out of the failure in the seam). The Misen pan has no such possible point of failure. It's heavier and very substantial feeling. It's also quite shallow and wide, which is perfect to get the heat distributed over the maximum surface. I love this pan - I wish all my Wolfgang pans had failed, lol. I just hate being wasteful and replacing pans that are still working ... MoreThis is the best quality pan I've ever owned.
