The CX1 is surprisingly light weight and has multiple power settings so you can safely clean anything from curtains to wood floors. The vacuum cleaner comes with multiple attachments for pretty much any and every interior type. The easily extendable handles / pole and great flexibility means it's good for getting under furniture such as sofas and easily adaptable to be comfortable to use regardless of your height. It has recommended settings for each floor type which are easy to navigate with diagrams depicting various surfaces and their corresponding settings. The dust collector is easily and cleanly removed for easy disposal into your bin, although I did find myself occasionally removing that instead of picking up the vacuum cleaner whilst getting used to it... ... MoreThe CX1 is surprisingly light weight and has multiple power settings so you can safely clean anything from curtains to wood floors. Having used this at a new house we just bought (which was left a little dirty & dusty) it gave us an excellent opportunity to test it across multiple surfaces. During use, the vacuum cleaner picked up a majority of dust and debris within one or two sweeps, although on some older carpets with particularly deep dirt and grit, the vacuum picked up the carpets as well, which meant reducing the power and some of the grit remained engrained in the carpets. Overall the product appears to be lightweight yet durable and serves as a good quality multifunctional vacuum cleaner, which is more user friendly than any I've used previously.

First impressions were very good. The vacuum cleaner all goes together well, and the quality of the product is very obvious (especially when compared to our cordless VAX which has several bits broken after only a few months). I'll admit our wonderful cleaner has used it more often than we have, but we all agree it is manoeuvrable, vacuums well, and also empties relatively easily and cleanly. We have a brush bar on the heads of both our cordless vacuum and the Harry (pet version of Henry), and that is useful when our cat is moulting. This version of the Miele lacks a powered brush - if you have pets I would probably consider upgrading to the pet version. We still use the other vacuums for areas where the cat hair has built up in his favourite sleeping spots around ... MoreFirst impressions were very good. Our cleaner mentioned the very easy-to-use adjustable hose, and the handy tool storage. Dust container is a decent size. All in all, we will probably keep both our Harry and cordless vacuums as they have the powered brush bars, but I'm afraid Harry has been relegated to being the upstairs vacuum. The Miele is an excellent quality product - just wish we'd got the pet version!

We've had a Dyson cordless for about 7 years and its been a fantastic product but it is now showing its age. The battery isn't great and its almost falling apart. The Miele brand comes with some very high expectations and this didn't have many reviews, given how new it was but we took a punt. What an exceptional product this is and it blows our Dyson out of the water by a mile. It's light (5kg~) easy to manuever and all the accessories can be attached to the hose so that you don't have to leave them behind. Emptying the hoover is easy, you simply lift a lever and it unclips. There is a push button near the bottom so emptying it is easy. It comes with a standard filter, which is recommended that you change but you can order a HEPA one from the Miele website if you ... MoreWe've had a Dyson cordless for about 7 years and its been a fantastic product but it is now showing its age. There is also a small brush that you can use to clean the dust compartment and the one of the filters can be rinsed in water and left to dry. Excellent suction power with 4 different settings incuding a super quiet one, in case you want to vacuum at night. The accessories that it comes with are pretty standard on all vacuums and the main brush allows for hard floor and carpet. Overall, this is an exceptional product and I'm glad we purchased this instead of another Dyson. My only negative is that the cable isn't as long as it could be but it's fine for our house.
I was giving this product for free as part of the John Lewis Review Panel. This is a plug-in vacuum with an extendable hose and various attachments. The main head of the vacuum has 2 settings (hard floors or carpet) and then there are 4 suction settings on the vacuum itself. I have mainly used the maximum suction setting so far, and have been really impressed. I have an office-style rough rug as my door mat and this always collects so many little bits and the Miele cleaned it so much better than my cordless vacuum does. I usually have to go over and over the rug with my normal vacuum but this picked up everything in one swoop. I really liked the fact that it is bagless and the dirt compartment was extremely easy to empty. I really liked the fact that it is bagless and the dirt compartment was extremely easy to empty. The vacuum moved really easily and did not get "jammed" like so many others do. The cord is retractable, which although only a small thing, makes it so much easier to get out and put away quickly. The vacuum is relatively compact but it does still need a sizeable area to store it. The same can be said of most vacuums though! At the end of the day, the main thing you want from a vacuum is excellent suction and this certainly has that! For the price point, it is excellent value and gets every last crumb and piece of dust up.
Brilliant hoover. Sleek design. Light and really easy to use. Comes with various attachments; dusting brush, upholstery nozzle & crevice nozzle. Has 4 settings; curtains, wooden/tiled floors, medium carpet and heavy pile. Really easy to empty disposal bin and doesn't need emptied after every use. Easily stored and retracting plug is great. Only thing I might change is the colour of the disposal bin handle. Its the same colour and the actual vacuum handle and I keep picking it up with the wrong handle. Probably an age thing! There is a warning in the user guide advising against this. I also had trouble activating the timestrip for the filter, managed it eventually. Love that I can set the machine to curtain mode and vacuum the creases in my curtains. Have used this ... MoreBrilliant hoover. Sleek design. Light and really easy to use. We're really pleased with this hoover. We previously had a Dyson upright and we were hesitant to change as we didn't want to lose any suction power. Well, the Miele hasn't disappointed. The suction is greater than the Dyson and is fully adjustable for different flooring types. It's also much quieter, even on the high power setting. Also, the dust bin can be emptied without requiring much of a shake - the same can't be said for our Dyson. It's manoeuvrable and the suction head is slim for getting under furniture. There is a good selection of tools that conveniently fit to the top of the hose for ease of access. My only criticism is that it takes up quite a bit of space for storage and would be good if you could park it upright, however, overall the positives way ... MoreWe're really pleased with this hoover. What a great vacuum! This replaced my 10+ year old Miele cat & dog vacuum (bagged vacuum) and I have to say, it was a lot better than I expected. I was worried that the suction wouldn't be as strong having also used a bagless Dyson - I was wrong! The suction on this is so much better than the Dyson and I would say better than my previous Miele too. I have hardwood floors, low pile carpets and various rugs around my house and I've actually only used the highest suction setting as a test and have found that I only really need the medium setting or lower for my needs. It looks great (my husband says it looks like something from Star Wars!), isn't too heavy, has a long cord and stores well, as the tube is telescopic. The dust compartment is clear, so it's easy to see ... MoreWhat a great vacuum! It looks great (my husband says it looks like something from Star Wars!), isn't too heavy, has a long cord and stores well, as the tube is telescopic. The dust compartment is clear, so it's easy to see when it needs emptying and also very easy to empty, a quick wipe down with a damp cloth after and you are good to go again. The only negatives are very small, one being that the two handles at the top look very similar. One is a carrying handle and the other is the handle for the dust compartment which comes off if you pull it up. Of course I will get used to this in due course and remind myself that the one with 'Miele' logo is the carry handle. The other thing is that this vacuum is slightly too wide to sit comfortably on a step of my stair case. I usually leave it at the top or bottom and vacuum in sections so not too much of a problem, but something to bear that in mind if you have tall narrow stairs. All in all I think this vacuum is great value for money, keeping in mind you don't need to purchase any bags for it and the filters are washable so lot's of savings there too. I'd recommend this Miele over a Dyson any day to anyone thinking of purchasing a vacuum.
I love this product, it's really lightweight and easy to use. There are multiple settings and tools for use on different surface types, and it is so, so much more powerful than our other cordless vacuum. The tools also attach to the main telescopic pole so you have them easily at hand around the house when you need to switch them. I used the vacuum on thick pile carpets, stairs, hard flooring, cushions, blinds, and hard surfaces including skirting boards and inside wardrobes. A few things I didn't like so much... Like others who have reviewed on here I've made the mistake of pulling out the dust compartment instead of the main white handle to pick up the vacuum a number of times. Like others who have reviewed on here I've made the mistake of pulling out the dust compartment instead of the main white handle to pick up the vacuum a number of times. Having not used a cord vacuum for a number of years I found the cable length a little restrictive e.g. on stairs. I also found while pulling the unit along, although it is very lightweight I have managed to bash it into a few doorways, table legs etc, probably something for me to practice taking more care on in future however! Overall however the sheer power and flexibility of the different settings totally outweigh any negatives as far as I'm concerned. Great product!!
I received this item from John Lewis to evaluate. I have two other vacuum cleaners I regularly use, a Miele cat and dog model (that is about 9 years old and has been extremely reliable) and a Dyson V15 Detect Animal handheld (which is a recent purchase). First impressions of the Miele Boost Vacuum cleaner is the design is sleek, although not sure I'd describe is as compact (you can see a size comparison in the picture against my existing Miele vacuum cleaner) - but it is smaller than some full size models. It weighs about the same as my existing vacuum cleaner. When I used it, I found it was easy to manoeuvre and it has powerful suction. It cleaned the carpets I tested it on well and also the area where I have the cat litter tray. I tested the model that is not ... MoreI received this item from John Lewis to evaluate. I tested the model that is not specifically designed for pet fur, so I can't do a direct companion against the Dyson (which is what I normally use for cleaning the same area). Emptying the dust container is straight forward. Overall, for the price, I think this is would be a worthwhile purchase and one thing I can say with confidence is the reliability of Miele vacuum cleaners is fair superior to other brands (especially when compared to the brand that made my handheld)...
