Games like Minecraft and Starfield load up faster than they did on Xbox One S console with really great 4k graphics on a 4kUHD tv. Comes with almost no apps installed, including YouTube, and does not update apps/games in the background, so just a heads up on that. The choices for Home backdrop pictures are a really nice added touch. It comes with a slightly smaller controller that is easier for shorter fingers to hold comfortably. The console is roughly 2/3 the size of a Series S console, and comes with the newer cord instead of a power brick as well as the 4kUHD HDMI cable. This arrived the day before the initial estimated delivery date, let alone the additional 5 day grace period requested by the new vendor. This is nice as the audio doesn't have to compete with a fan to keep a smaller room from getting too stuffy.

I bought this off the Godfrey Illinois Walmart shelf. It was supposed to be new. I take it home and plug it in and a preexisting profile pops up. The controller does not work either. Wonāt turn on even with brand new batteries and even when plugged in with a cord directly. I took it all back to the customer service desk and they did not care. I requested a manager and they basically blew me off as well. They even went in the back and checked cameras and verified that I bought it the day before. They said yeah we have you on camera purchasing it yesterday. But the way you carried it out it had to have tape on it. The seal is broken call Xbox. I will be honest here, I have not touched a video game console in almost 20 years. Finally found some free time on my hands and figured why not, there are so many games I want to play now. Anyway, was going to purchase PS5 digital initially. So I go on the Sony app and try to purchase a few games I wanted while they were on sale before I even purchased the console. To my surprise, it would not in any chance allow me to make a purchase. It just kept popping up a weird message āSomething went wrongā. Like, what the heck is this? No matter how many times I entered my credit card info, logged out, logged back, it would not allow me to make a purchase. I guess Sony does not want my money. Apparently this is a wide spread issue and there are a bunch of videos on YouTube ...Ā MoreI will be honest here, I have not touched a video game console in almost 20 years. Apparently this is a wide spread issue and there are a bunch of videos on YouTube on ways to fix it, yet if you read the comments, practically none of the solutions actually work. No chance am I about to drop close to $500 on something just so I can have a headache and have to troubleshoot nonsense like this.Went to Best Buy today and bought this bad boy. From the seamless installation, to the amazing layout of the menus, and to the simple ease of actually purchasing a game. Everything is just great. This is what I needed, simple, sleek and so very easy to use. Happy camper over here.

This console is a great deal for just playing Gamepass alone! That is the main reason we bought it. I am not a fan of going all digital on consoles but this really makes me rethink it. MS has shown they want to support multiple generations digitally and hopefully they continue to improve. This is a night and day difference to the previous gen console too. Even with the resolution/ fps limitations on certain titles it is still the best bang for your buck. Gamepass has a lot of Day one titles as well as new titles being added from acquisitions MS has made and keep making.Pros- Quick- Small foot print- Looks great- Gamepass is great with itCons- *To some* Digital Only- Limited Storage (Optimized for X|S Games must be installed on the SSD or additional SSD ...Ā MoreThis console is a great deal for just playing Gamepass alone! This was a Christmas gift for my son as it was on sale and for a great deal so I couldn't pass it up. It's now almost April and so far it is still working fine and without any issues with the console or the controller. It was recommended to me to get rechargeable batteries for the controller since of course it's a wireless controller and has batteries. So far that has been working great as the batteries it comes with, aren't rechargeable and only lasted about a month. I love the size as it's easy to put up anywhere and easy to transport. I knew it was the digital-only version (and clearly states so) which is the version I wanted since discs take up space to store and I was planning on getting Game Pass anyways instead of buying a bunch of games right away. The Xbox S was a purchase for one specific purpose: MS Flight Simulator 2020. I had been looking at MS Windows computers with sufficient specs to run the simulator, but they were all coming out more expensive than the Xbox. The console is more than adequate, and less expensive. It will also allow me to add a joystick if I want to improve the experience later.I've been a Playstation user when it comes to gaming, and I still prefer the Sony controllers and interfaces to the Xbox ones, to be honest. The MS controller feels cheaper, is not as ergonomic. There was a learning curve with the Xbox OS, and I'm still not sure I'm using it completely right. It reminds me of my previous experience with Windows products when I gave them up and became an Apple user around 20 years ago.As a practical matter, the Xbox S does fine for the single purpose task I had in mind for it, and it comes in a couple hundred dollars less than what I would have spent on a desktop system at the higher end of the required specs for running the sim. If FS 2020 had been available on other platforms, I do not think I would have added the console. My experience with ordering the product from Best Buy was unproblematic. Delivery was only two days after the order, and it saved me an hour's drive to the closest store location.
The Xbox Series S has made a strong impact on the gaming industry with its compact design and impressive performance. After spending some quality time with this console, I must say that it exceeded my expectations in many aspects. As a casual gamer looking for an affordable yet capable console, I decided to give the Xbox Series S a try. After spending some quality time with this console, I must say that it exceeded my expectations in many aspects. In this review, I will discuss its design, performance, game library, and overall value for money.Design and Build Quality:The Xbox Series S stands out with its sleek, compact design. Its all-digital form factor allows it to fit seamlessly into any entertainment setup. The console is significantly smaller and lighter compared to its more powerful counterpart, the Series X, making it perfect for those with limited space. The white color scheme and circular vent design give it a modern and stylish look. The build quality feels solid, and the console blends well with other devices in my living room.Performance:Despite its smaller size, the Xbox Series S delivers impressive performance. Powered by a custom 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU and an RDNA 2-based GPU, it can handle games at 1440p resolution and 60 frames per second with ease. The SSD storage ensures faster load times, and the Quick Resume feature allows for seamless switching between multiple games. Although it lacks the 4K capabilities of the Series X, the visuals are still sharp and vibrant, providing an immersive gaming experience.Game Library and Backward Compatibility:One of the biggest advantages of the Xbox ecosystem is its extensive game library and backward compatibility. The Xbox Series S allows you to access a wide range of games from previous generations, thanks to backward compatibility with select Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One titles. Furthermore, it is a part of Xbox Game Pass, a subscription service that offers access to a vast library of games for a monthly fee. This gives gamers an incredible value for their money and ensures a constant stream of new titles to enjoy.User Interface and Features:The Xbox Series S utilizes the same user interface as the rest of the Xbox consoles, providing a familiar and user-friendly experience. The redesigned dashboard is clean, responsive, and intuitive to navigate. The console supports various multimedia apps, allowing you to stream movies, shows, and music. Additionally, it seamlessly integrates with Xbox Live, providing access to online multiplayer and other social features.Value for Money:When it comes to value for money, the Xbox Series S shines. Priced lower than the Series X, it offers an excellent entry point into the next generation of gaming. Despite its lower resolution capabilities, it still provides a fantastic gaming experience and access to a vast library of games. The combination of performance, design, backward compatibility, and Xbox Game Pass makes it an appealing choice for casual gamers or those on a budget. Conclusion:The Xbox Series S is a remarkable gaming console that packs a punch in a compact form factor. Its performance, design, and extensive game library make it an attractive choice for casual gamers. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of its more powerful sibling, the Series X, it offers great value for money. If you're looking for an affordable yet capable console that delivers an excellent gaming experience, the Xbox Series S should be at the top of your list.
I love it so far! it came in early and in one piece. Their customers service is great! I had a code that wasn't working and they responded to me within a day and got me a new code. Downside you won't be able to play for that long or play a game with Spotify open for a long time or the Xbox will start overheating and your game will start lagging; youll need to buy a fan(hope that the fan will work and make it so i can play all day lol). Another downside is you only have half a Tb so you will need to get a storage box(which it does say in the title/description) the controller is a little bit smaller than the older models and heavier which for me it's fine but for example it just feels awkward for my brother š . Which I don't recommend you using the controller case or its just me having that fear that I'll make stick drift happen with that controller cuz how there's nothing holding the control so itll just be moving around the case(or you could just sit it on something and don't hang onto it by the handle) You get emailed the game codes but the two codes that come with the Xbox, once you log in it'll pop up for you to claim them or you can claim them later for a different account but it has to be signed it on that Xbox. DON'T use the power button on the actual Xbox, mine got stuck pushed in when i truned it off before i left then later thaf day i came home when trying to turn it on from the Xbox it wouldn't let me, it was pushed in but it popped out after a bit.
