Maui Moisture Nourish & Moisture + Coconut Milk Shampoo 385 ml

Okay, I have dry, heat damaged hair, and I've been sloowwllyyy trying to fix it for years. This shamppoo/ conditioner duo, gives my hair such a blast of hydration, it comes dry, looking glossy, and feels softer and stronger. You can visibly see the repair to my split ends. I tried this brand on a fluke and have been in Love ever since. Its affordable, being less than $10 a bottle, with no sulfates or additives? I even found it at my local Wal Mart. I have yet to find a shampoo to surpass this one (for MY dry hair specifically) I have less split ends, less damage, less flakiness, and a healthy feel and shine.

I always shampoo my hair twice before using my hair mask, so I tend to go for drugstore shampoos because I use quite a lot of it. This shampoo smells great and never leaves my hair dry and brittle. But if you ask me, I think a good conditioner/hair mask is far more important than a good shampoo. That’s why I never spend too much on shampoo. This line has several different scents but this one is my favorite. I find the pink bottle to be too strong of a smell for me.

An absolute must!

I intentionally waited 7 days to wash my hair to give this an accurate review. No dry shampoo or other products used during that time. I couldn’t believe that my hair STILL smelled amazing on the 7th day. On day 5, I definitely needed to wash because of the oil around the top and hairline, but wasn’t as bad as other products, because normally on day 3 I would need to wash again. Very impressed with this— I even went to the gym 5/7 days on no dry shampoo!! The lather in the shower is a weird texture though. My hair feels super dry while washing but once the conditioner is rinsed out it’s better, but not the best texture until blow dry.

Coconut Paradise!

I was hesitant at first about using this shampoo since my hair is wavy, not curly, but I'm glad I made this purchase! My hair has been presenting fuller and softer than ever before. I tried Pantene and similar products before deciding to try Maui Coconut shampoo and conditioner. I love the coconut scent this product emits. It invites imagery of tropical paradise whenever I clean my hair. I think I will be using this for the long haul! This has been by far the best decision I have made for my specific haircare needs!

Fake products being displayed!

I love this product and have been using it for years. But I have recently picked this up through a Walmart pickup order. First upon using it I noticed the lids were different and didn’t think much of it. While using it I instantly smelled a really strong chemical smell, which never has happened to be these products smell amazing! I think the ones I have received, were fakes! So please pay attention to the packaging and smell it to make sure it doesn’t smell like chemicals!

I like the ingredients!

For example, there are no parabens, mineral oils, synthetic dyes, sulfates, or silicones (among other things) in these products. They are also cruelty-free, which is really important to me. Instead, they rely on more natural ingredients to produce the results they promise, like coconut milk and "100% aloe juice as first ingredient". (Maybe it's just me and my poor math skills, but I don't understand what that means. How can it be 100% aloe juice AND also contain coconut water or mango butter, let alone any other ingredients? What does "100% aloe juice" mean?) These products are also gluten-free and vegan. The Nourish & Moisture + Coconut Milk line is meant for dry hair, which it states right on its label. I thought it would be great to try on my hair, which is prone to damage and split ends. It does seem to be very nourishing, very moisturizing. The scent is a little disappointing to me. It's a nice smell, but not as amazing as I was expecting from something that is made with coconut milk and has "Maui" in its name. The shampoo lathers well and rinses out cleanly. It leaves my hair feeling clean and smooth. I enjoyed using it! The shampoo alone may have been fine for my hair, but so far, I have only used it WITH the accompanying conditioner, which I believe weighed my hair down a bit. I would still like to try the shampoo with another conditioning product, especially from the Maui Moisture line. This shampoo might be perfect for somebody with dry or severely damaged hair, especially if used in conjunction with the conditioner. I wouldn't buy this again for myself, though I WOULD try different Maui Moisture products to find the right line for me. I might recommend it to a friend with dry hair.

I’m surprised and happy

My hair is thick, very course and i have highlights. I wanted to try a new shampoo and this one smelled amazing. After looking at other reviews i was having second thoughts looking at the ones especially pointing towards the damaging of the hair, chemicals used. That was not the case for mine. I waited to write a review to see exactly how my hair would be affected by the duo. Like i said before my hair is thick, long and has color and that of course includes knots and having to go through my hair over and over again with a brush. It’s been a little over a week and these products are amazing. I love the way they smell and takes away lots of my prior problems. I definitely recommend this product to people who are looking for something like this.

SO dry

I used this shampoo a couple of times, and it dried out my hair terribly. My hair literally felt like straw after I washed it, it has never felt that dry and I have use hotel shampoo before. Thank goodness I have moisturizing conditioner, but I had to deep condition to get my curls back to feeling soft and hydrated. It must be the amount of fragrance they use because it is STRONG. Don’t recommend, especially for curly hair that needs hydration.

Surprisingly harsh

On the plus side, this shampoo smells amazing, it gets my hair (fine & straight) really clean, and leaves my hair soft. But I've also been losing much, much more hair in the shower consistently since I started using this product a couple of months ago. At first I thought that maybe it was just coincidental and some periodic thing with my hair, but it hasn't stopped. As a result, my hair has definitely thinned - when I put it in a ponytail the elastic is looser and slides down. This shampoo also leaves my hair super knotted and tangled, so I have to use a lot more conditioner (maybe that's why my hair is softer after it dries?). It's time to find a different shampoo so I can stop losing my hair!

There's a Reason Maui Moisture is Recommended!

I love all of the Maui Moisture products. I took a chance and started buying them after watching YouTube and the products were being recommended. I use different Maui Moisture shampoos and conditioners as needed and depending on how my hair is at the time of use (ie. I don't only use this product on it's own for a month at a time) and have noticed a big difference in my hair. Prior to using these products I was using other well known brands (not supermarket stuff) that I also still do like at times however Maui Moisture is currently my go to. Have been using for around 6 months.
