The back and sides of all Martins in the X series are made with HPL (high pressure laminate) or high pressure laminate. This durable composite material, made up of several layers of special paper and synthetic resin, offers excellent sound quality and great robustness. With a lower production cost than wood, it is the ideal alternative for entry-level models. For 2024, Martin has decided to offer a complete makeover to the X Series! The most spectacular specimens of wood, coming from the Martin stock have been expertly photographed for the new impressions of these guitars. The cocobolo is a magnificent wood, easily recognizable by its dark color and its light beige sapwood. This finish is now available as an HPL print for the X series, thanks to the GPC-X2E Cocobolo. In addition, all models of this series are equipped with a Martin E-1 amplification system. And finally, all new models of the X series have improved playability. Indeed, the fingerboard is thinner with a comfortable slightly bevelled edge and a redefined string spacing. The bridge outline has also been modernized for a smooth and comfortable playing experience.
