A really top quality product, beautifully made. Flicking on the power switch is very satisfying, like turning on a guitar amp. Being able to adjust treble and bass to get the perfect sound balance is a great feature. Overall it is very tactile and looks great. The real joy is the sound quality though - at least as good as most middle ground multi-speaker sound systems. I tried it out in the kitchen, and with the bass at 70% the table was shaking. Love it! One tiny downside is it has to be plugged in - no running on battery.

Would actively encourage anyone who's always loved their music and misses their old vinyl and cd collections to get one. We've got a big conservatory and whilst it sounded good, it was sensational in a close setting.Thinking of buying another one for the bedroom now.

It's a good looking, weighty and solidly built speaker, it deserves to be in a great looking room but until I get my act together it lives here but that doesn't mean it doesn't do a great job. The sound from it is amazing, whether it's music or speech and I like to listen to things loud so clear undistorted sound is what I need and what I get. In fact, the controls are intuitive enough that I didn't really need a manual at all.Build quality has held up after a couple of weeks of use - everything feels solid. The on/off switch has a satisfying clunk and the dials feel good as well although how much you'll use them with a Bluetooth speaker is debatable.It sounds pretty good as well, plenty of bass and it goes loud. The midrange and treble are possibly a bit recessed but there are tone controls to tailor the sound to your liking. Make sure you dig into the app if you are placing it close to the wall or in a corner as there are some settings in there to adapt the sound to those locations. This does bring me to a slight disappointment that at this price level it's lacking any real smart speaker features. There's no Alexa/Siri/Google integration and no Spotify connect. My player (Fiio) found Acton's bluetooth right away and the bluetooth connection to my Fiio was almost instant and is stable over 25 feet. I have not tried to go any further yet. If you don't have bluetooth, you are able to plug in a cable with a 3.5mm jack.
