I have been aware of Manfrotto for many years, when I began to take photography more seriously in the last couple of years. I wanted a traditional tripod at first, but my budget didn't allow me to purchase one at the time. Upon watching Tech YouTuber David DiFranco featuring the PIXI Mini in one of his video blogs, I became intrigued due to its price and functionality. Seeing how he was able to easily adjust and attach his PIXI Mini to his various cameras, I decided to pull the trigger on the purchase. In the time I have used the tripod, I have been impressed by its portability and ease of use. It is my first ballhead tripod, so having the ability to adjust the angle on the fly with just a push of a button has been a welcome change. The one caveat that I do have is that I wish it were a bit taller in terms of height. That little gripe is not a deal breaker since I plan to buy another one for my mirrorless camera. Overall, I recommend the Manfrotto PIXI Mini for the amateur and professional photographer.

I've carried around an Ultrapod II for over 15 years: it goes wherever I go. It is a companion for my pocket cameras, including SONY RX100. I would not put my camera on a tripod if I feel insecure. Ultrapod II is secure. This tripod, however, requires careful handling while mounting or adjusting the camera angles. So, it takes time for adjusting the ball-head by turning the screw knob slowly while holding the camera. If not careful, the camera can hit objects near by. And then I saw a Manfrotto Pixi Mini which has a simple push-button mechanism that allows one to release and locks the ball head with a simple touch. It takes less than a second to adjust the angle of the camera. It feels durable, and the mounting mechanism is secure, and therefore, I feel confident to put my expense pocket camera on it. It is small enough to carry around, like my Ultrapod II. So, I highly recommend this Pixi tripod. P.S. I received a Pixi tripod with some minor defects. B&H, of course, replaced it with a new one immediately, another reason why I buy things from B&H.

This tripod never really held much when it was working. Recently I wanted to do some cooking videos and use my RX100 with it which it should hold. Well, soon as I pushed the release button the other side of the plastic exploded with a spring coming out. After several exchanges with Manfrotto support it was clear they weren't going to do anything... I realize this is only a 20 dollar item but this kind of relationship with customers would lead me to never purchase their products again or recommend them to my students.

It definitely depends on what you are doing. What you are shooting with, the surface it's sitting on, and whether or not you're using an extension with it. By itself with a small point and shoot, micro 4/3, or GoPro type camera I'm sure it would be great. Attach a selfie stick to it for extension and things change quite a bit. The base although small is too light and with wind it will tip over with the extension attached. I'm a property virtual tour creator and tried to use it with a 360 camera and found getting things perfectly level nearly impossible. Not a bad tool, just the wrong tool in my case. Smaller and lighter is not always better. Good for average recreational use though.
Good Points: It’s a super size and lightweight, but not so lightweight as to be flimsy; I t’s actually very sturdy, so perfect for getting steady shots with both pictures and videos.Improvement Points: The button to adjust the camera angle is very stiff, you really have to press it in to get the angle to move. When moving the camera angle it’s also quite stiff at the start, not smooth although I would imagine that would get smoother with use.
Small & well built. Legs do not telescope out which would make it less stable. It should easily hold a mirrorless camera that is on the smaller size like an Olympus EM1 III or the new OM 1 with a normal lens attached like a 12-40mm or similar. The extra attachments for a GoPro or cell phone are nice additions and add to the flexibility of this small tripod. When the legs are pulled together they become the shape of a handle that could be used for taking videos. The push button on the side releases the ball head so it can be moved in different angles. When the button is released the ball head is locked into place much more firmly than other small tripods I have owned. Considering its' size I think it is rather robust in its' construction and ability to stay stable.
Great little handy portable item. It surprisingly solidly supports a Canon Mark III full frame camera with a 16-35mm III USM zoom. Strong and simple to use. Have also used this with the correct brackets to hold strobes (flashes). Rubber feet help with slipping on non level surface. One of my most used items. On another note, here is a gentle warning concerning purchasing this item or any others. At the time I placed some of my purchases, there were 4% rewards offered. This is 1 of the reasons Ive made some purchases. Upon waiting the allocated amount of time without receiving the 4% rewards, I reach out them via chat and phone only to be told these purchases do not qualify. Im very disheartened that this was not resolved in an honest mater since I am certain it was listed on the website during checkout. Ive done a price comparison at 3 different stores comparing the items Ive purchased since the beginning of the year and all are about the same price. I will unfortunately start looking elsewhere for my purchasing needs due to this dishonest practice. So this may be one of my last few reviews of some products Ive purchased here. Take care and keep shooting!
This lightweight Manfrotto mini tripod is just right for my small LUMIX travel camera. My main use will be for taking group photos where I need to compose the shot and then set the timer so I can also be in the shot. As others have said, the ball head has a limited range of motion in altitude beyond horizontal, but that doesn't affect my needs. But the ball itself has some small latitudinal grooves that provide a very solid footing for wherever you position the camera.
This product is exactly what its meant for. Minimal phone tripod built with quality and you can take anywhere. The partial rubber on the hand grip is a great touch and makes it comfortable to hold. Also the fact that the handle closes in together for a sleek and flush look helps with gripping it even better. The phone clip is sturdy allowing vertical or horizontal shooting, with the option to add a light or mic. Also comes with a piece allowing you to attach a action camera if you wanted. Also you can even add a Manfrotto mono pod to your tripod if you wanted. Which makes this very modular. This is probably the only tripod youll ever need really! I definitely love this.
It's stability also the build is great, the flexibility on the sphere also the adjustment on 3 legged stand could use some additional modifications.Sphere: pressing the tab to unlock the sphere for movement, it's slides back and forth roughly, feels like it can use lubricant for a smoother adjustment, I reframe from adding any type chemical for I don't know if it might ruin it. This sphere I am referring to is what moves your video view to shoot or record in a 360 degree angle.3 Leg Stand: it's very sturdy and I love it, once open to hold your device it adjust to only one level. Be nice if it can have maybe at least 3 adjustments from when you unfold it's legs.Overall I am using this without complications, it's very sturdy and does it's purpose, price is worth ... MoreIt's stability also the build is great, the flexibility on the sphere also the adjustment on 3 legged stand could use some additional modifications.Sphere: pressing the tab to unlock the sphere for movement, it's slides back and forth roughly, feels like it can use lubricant for a smoother adjustment, I reframe from adding any type chemical for I don't know if it might ruin it.
