Makita XSR01Z 18V X2 LXT Li-ion (36V) Brushless Rear Handle 7-1/4" Circular Saw

Makita really went above and beyond when they designed this beast. Fist off, it's buikt like a tank. Everything is made from magnesium and cast aluminum except the casing, sobit will take a lot of abuse. It comes with a 24 tooth blade that rips wood like nothing at all. The cuts are always smooth and straight. The added weight of this saw really helps you control it well when cutting. The seph adjustment is easy to adjust, but I really love the bevel adjustments on this saw. They added a secondary positive stop knobs that allows you to automatically stop at 22.5 degrees or 45 degrees without needing to look at the marks every time. It needs to run off of two batteries at the same time, but the 5.0 last a very long time. As for the rear handle, I like these much better than the did wonders as the are more comfortable to use, and are not as wide. I will say that there is a slower build up of power going to the blade than what you would find in an electric saw, but only takes a second to get the full rpm up. This even has a self adjusting motor that will increase power on its own when needed. This should help you save on battery usage. There were a few things that really got to me about this buy. The first is that they give you no bag to keep this in. Makita is usually good about this, but not this time. Another is the saw can take an edge guide, but again Makita did not include it (really Makita??) And the third is there is no place in the saw to store the blade removal wrench. Many other saws, especially in this range has an onboard wrench storage slot. Other than Makita cheating out a bit on accessories, the saw is just plain awesome.

When I bought it, my family and friends kept praising that it was so cheap and beautiful where I bought it, I'm so shyI don't know about everyone, but I find the products sold in this shop are very good quality and the prices are very reasonable.Bought this for the 3rd time, the product is still as good as the first days

The Makita blade cut through effortlessly with no tear out on pine 5/4" decking boards. Besides clean, thin cuts, the other purpose of the thin kerf saw is that it uses less energy, making it ideal for a cordless saw where you are making multiple cuts and would be concerned with how much battery that you are using. With any thin kerf blade you will want to make sure that you don't overheat the blade which can cause it to warp, especially with thicker pieces of wood. For novices, make sure that you know what you will be using a blade for and have several different types on hand. this is a well-balanced tool and superior to the single battery model which I already owned. Would love to see a metal shoe instead of plastic the depth and angle adjustment are easily accessed. I do like the rafter hook.

Fantastic!

Have always preferred a worm-drive, but up until now there really was no cordless option. While this isn't exactly a worm, is has many of the attributes of one, including awesome power, and that you can drop the weight of the saw through the cut. I had to get into a 2nd cordless line to get this, but definitely was well worth it!

Just what Ive been looking dog

Ive been a carpenter all my life I have used corded worm drive saw since 1980 this type of saw is best for 1st fixing and cutting roofs now Makita has brought this new cordless 36v rear handled saw out the days of staging a cable around scaffolding have gone I wish I had cordless tools when I was an apprentice back in the 60s a fantastic tool

Made me a believer

I have been old school about cordless saws and lack of power. This is my reason to say I was wrong. I love this saw for the power, balance, durability and ease of use. Can't say enough about the ability of this saw.

Makita=quality

This Saw, though I haven't used it but a few times so far, seems to be what I expected when I bought yet another Makita 18 Volt tool. Well built and designed it fits into my Makita 18 Volt system of tools which gives me more versatility between differing types of projects. (i.e., I may not need the batteries from my router and sander so I can use them on the circular saw.) But if I find later that my projects require more batteries I can purchase some. I like the Makita line of tools. My Dad did also and I've followed his lead for about 20 years now and have never been disappointed.

What a saw

The only negative about this tool is the weight but that could be years of using a small makita cordless circular saw for the past ten years, iam sure that will pass. Couldn't believe just how easy it is to use cuts through everything I've put before it with ease

a very compact and powerful saw with long battery time. many features which make it easy to operate. perfect manufacturing quality. an integrated hook makes it easy to carry on a tool belt or hang it on the framing if needed. automatic power / speed adjustment provides consistent cutting power. batteries can be shared with other Makita cordless tools. the bag is a nice plus. highly recommended
