Not had this battery very long but I have used 3 amp makita batteries for a few years now and they have been great and still going strong. This one will power my bigger tools such as a chainsaw and a strimmer as well as the sds drill. so far very good and not run down yet after plenty of use.

Bought quite a few Makita compatible batteries but they don't last and I killed last two on the Makita fast charger. The genuine Makita 5ah batteries charge from empty to full in 45 mins on the Makita charger. My first battery was a Makita (second hand with a little selection of Makita tools from my Son-in-law 5yrs ago) and is still going strong. I've gone through 6 compatible batts during that time all now deceased. Decided this time to replace with genuine.

As expected a very well built battery, worth the monies paid. A great usage duration and it takes around 44mins to charge on the 110v charger.I have never had one of these genuine star stamped batteries fail yet, and this is over many years of heavy use.Well worth the money invested.

Great battery - 5ah at the same weight as my older 3ah batteries. Forget cheap Makita copies - I've had them and they stop working after a couple of months hard use. Stick to these.Long charge period (50 mins), very very long usage but absolutely does not work/fit with my older SDS and Hammer drill Makita LXT kit, but does with my newer stuff. You're going to need at least 2 depending on how much you push them if you need constant access to tools on the go.Highly recommend but take note of which LXT items you have as not all fits this battery. Look for a star on battery connector on tool - those fit fine.
Batteries. Do what they should and power your cordless tools. Much better than the 3rd party ones. Worth dropping the extra cash
Brush cutter uses two batteries simultaneously and they are very powerful and last a long time and seem to charge up fairly quickly. Only wish I didn't have to keep an eye on the charger to turn it off as soon as it is charged. Apparently it's not good for the batteries to leave them charging.
