I was searching for a computer mouse with the following functionality: 1) Three distinct Bluetooth connections switchable on the fly; 2) full-sized, or close to full-sized; 3) a dedicated power button/switch; and 4) the Bluetooth switcher should be accessible during use of the mouse—not underneath the mouse. This mouse met all my conditions without compromise. And it pairs well with most Logitech keyboards stylistically. Finally, it's a magnitude less expensive than Logitech's MX line of mice.I ended up pairing this with a Logitech K780 keyboard, and didn't break the bank. Thanks Logitech!

THE SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT MOUSEI searched for a good mouse for quite a while. I wanted one with a good set of programmable buttons without having the plasticy feel or unnecessary LED lighting found on most gaming mice. I wanted it to be big enough to comfortably fit in my hand but not so bulky that it seemed excessive. Understandably, that was highly subjective criteria, but those are the subjective details that make finding a good mouse difficult. After working my way through about 6 different mice, I finally found the M720, and it has met or exceeded every expectation I had for it.I love this mouse so much that I actually bought a case for it so that I could transport it [more safely] to use at home and work. I've been using it for 3 years (at least). The case zipper actually broke, but the mouse is still going strong!MOUSE AND BATTERY LIFEI thought my mouse was finally dying about a month ago as it wasn't responding properly. However, it turned out the old unifying receiver I had had just gotten damaged from tossing my laptop in my bag over and over, so I swapped it out with another one I had and everything is working fine again. [I could've also just used bluetooth, but I also have a keyboard that uses the unifying receiver, so i just decided to link it to that.]It connects instantly, and switching between 3 different computers with the click of a button works great as well. The AA battery lasts a year or more with use for about 40-45 hours a week. I like the choice to use a AA battery as I don't have to remember to charge it or find the connection wire and I don't have to seek out some weird button battery type. There's a warning when your battery is getting low as well so you aren't stuck with a dead mouse. AA batteries are cheap and you likely have one at your home or work should you need to replace it; which again is less than once a year. For what it's worth, I saw in a couple other reviews that some have had an issue with the rubber grippy part wearing off. I have had no signs of rubber wear, cracks or damage at all in 3+ years of ownership with near daily use.LOOK AND FEELThe style of the mouse is professional while giving you the button options of a modest gaming mouse. It fits well in the hand and is not too light or too heavy. No hand fatigue or soreness. I have had no issues with accidental clicks, other than the 1 or 2 days it took to get used to not hitting the thumb button when dragging [more on that below]. Clicks are solid, scrolling is great. I personally like the incremental scrolling most of the time, but the button to make it free scrolling is nice for long pages or emails. I like the ability to switch back and forth between the two options as well.SOFTWARE AND CUSTOMIZATION'Logitech Options' software is easy to use and not bloated or resource-hogging and has the options to allow you to link the buttons to preform nearly any function you want them to, including keystroke mapping or running programs. With the gesture control, each button can have up to 5 functions. I use one to run different macros and one for switching windows between monitors. The thumb button took a day or two to get used to, and was frustrating that first day. Stick it out though, because now I don't think I could live without it. I recommend pairing it with WinSplit Revoultion [not updated since Vista, but works great with Windows versions at least up to Windows 10; just search for a free, old copy (v11.04) on Google]. I thumb click and gesture up or to the sides to quickly snap windows to parts of the screen at pre-selected percentages. It makes for rapid window organization which is great when coding, writing emails, or organizing photos. To Logitech: working this functionality into the Logitech Options software without having to use a separate program would be a great addition.FINAL RECOMMENDATIONI would highly recommend this mouse to anyone. I will buy this mouse again should this one ever die. Now that the case that I use to haul it broke, I may just buy a second mouse for my house so that I don't need to transport it back and forth. Great, great mouse. If you have been looking for a while to find that perfect mouse, your search is over. Get this one, you won't regret it!

Bought my first one for home and absolutely loved it. Was having a lot of hand cramps with traditional mouse and this one just feels better. Allowed me to use home computer and work computer so loved that. Ended up buying another one exclusively for work. The work one lasted couple of years but just recently the right-click just randomly clicked and sometimes the programmable buttons just activated themselves. Kind of dealt with it for a while and then finally it just wasnt responding to bluetooth very well. I have never used the included wifi dongle so have no clue how well that works. But I have just recently bought my third one of these. And I probably will buy another soon to have as backup.
I have owned two Triathlon M720 mice before this. After seven years of nearly constant use, one of them started to fail, so I went and ordered a replacement. Unbeknownst to me, Logitech had changed how it works. In the earlier version, if you did not have the "clicker" on, the mouse would scroll in a well behaved, controlled fashion, but very quickly. With the clicker on, it would move one line down at a time, quite useful when viewing text. The new version is not under user's control without the "clicker" on. Sure, it scrolls really fast, but it doesn't stop when you want it to. Sometimes it will retreat a bit, other times move further after you have stopped rolling the wheel. OK, if I have a spreadsheet with thousands of rows maybe this might be useful, but I ... MoreI have owned two Triathlon M720 mice before this. OK, if I have a spreadsheet with thousands of rows maybe this might be useful, but I don't - and for me this behavior is very irritating. It basically means that I cannot use the fast scrolling behavior. I spent an hour on the phone, sent several videos showing how my old mouse worked and how the new one did not, and customer support told me that this new behavior was just what Logitech had wanted, and said it was a change that many users had requested. It would have been nice if Logitech had changed the model number to indicate a new behavior. It would be even nicer if I had an option of buying one with the earlier behavior.
I absolutely love the wireless Bluetooth connectivityi across multiple devices. I'm using it on an Android phone (which I connect to a monitor and keyboard for typing texts) and two Windows machines, Win 10 and Win 11. Everything works fine, I can easily switch back and forth between devices. The two side buttons tooks a bit of learning, as their placement is slightly diffeent from my old mouse. I also like the "hidden" button on the lower left. I use it in Windows to bring me back to the desktop. I like the fact that the software allows for assigning different tasks to all three buttons rather than just the default settings. The size of the mouse, its shape, is just fine for my right hand. That feature alone almost makes this worth the price of the mouse.I always have owned inexpensive mice. This is the best I've ever purchased, and and it's really not that expensive. Maybe there are better ones, but for the price and what it does, this is just perfefct. I've always had good luck with Logitech devices.
When it comes to detail work on the computer, I have not found a mouse that even comes close to the weight and smooth handling of the Logitech Triathalon. This was one of the first mice that was hungrily consumed by my beagle, Banjo. You know how it is - you're working late at night, and suddenly you get 'a hankerin'. Pretty soon there is a big bag of corn chips next to your desk, followed by various other snacks that your cardiologist has warned you about, and probably some liquor, too. Needless to say, the flavor makes its way from your hand to your mouse, and from your mouse to the dog.Of course I try to put the mouse away before I go to bed, but you only have to forget one time and then... well, you wake up in the morning walking through a debris field of ... After using the same model of Kingston mouse for years nearly 10 years was hesitant to switch, but this mouse fits the bill for large hand feel, and the functionality of all the buttons really is amazing. Being able to program buttons and gestures for different applications is very helpful for me as a video editor. Also love Bluetooth (with having to use a usb port although it has that option). No noticeable latency on Bluetooth either which is great.Minor gripes: don’t love the feel of the scroll wheel free spin. The clicked button version of it also feels a bit too clunky. But getting used to it. Also miss the scroll click and drag, but have it mapped to screenshot screen which is a neat feature.
I have used this mouse for gaming and work for about 2 - 3 years. the bluetooth connection is good with mine, very fast. however the rubber texture wears off quite fast causing the mouse to be grimey no matter how much you clean it. the rubber bits will stick into the cracks of the buttons and basically just be a bacteria farm you cant get rid of. would be an amazing mouse that i would buy again if it came in a plain plastic casing (preferably recycled plastic). Might be good for light computer work. The middle mouse button has a button underneath it that allows you to change the scrolling "dynamic" between smooth-weighted free-flow, and individual clicks. This is good for switching between selections in gaming (individual) and scrolling long documents (free flow). ... This is good for switching between selections in gaming (individual) and scrolling long documents (free flow). Also works well with no mouse pad on wood (wow). and has 4 buttons on the side (the lowest one, on windows, allowing you to view all open tabs on the screen and select whichever you like) - with gaming it takes time to practice to not clench the mouse hard and accidentally press out of the game (died many times due to this) as the button is located where your thumb is supposed to rest, although with additional keybind software you could probably change this, however ive had no luck in finding any that work. I wont be buying this again mainly due to the bacteria farm and the difficulty ive had in changing the keybinds, its a shame since the bluetooth is good.
The mouse looks nice but includes too many substandard details. Take the scroll wheel. An attractive feature of the mouse is that it includes the option to switch between step-at-a-time scrolling and smooth, continuous, potentially high speed scrolling. However, when the wheel is unlocked, it it wobbles and rattles cheaply in its seat, although the scrolling operates ably. When the wheel is locked, meanwhile, the rattling during non-scrolling operations is mercifully silenced, but the use of the scroll wheel becomes extraordinarily noisy. The user is placed into a position that is unacceptable for this level of device and unbecoming of a manufacturer that demonstrably can do better at the same or even lower price points. Rather than continuing to write, I can allow the reader to generate their own other examples as it is the unfortunate case that in every place where Logitech could corner their user into such a conundrum of design, they have done just that.
