LG Pk3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker

I bought this bluetooth speaker 5 and a half years ago because I found it on a huge discount, and for the price, this was a no-brainer. Till this day, the sound quality remained the same, battery can still hold up to 8 hours of playback, it has fell from reasonably elevated shelfs and tables and the damage was minimum, every single time. I can do nothing but applaud LG for making this speaker, I hope it serves me well for a year or two atleast.

Awesome Speaker, Crisp Sound, Sleek Look

I love the LG PK3 IPX7. My first impression when I opened the box and held it was that this was a high quality well built speaker. It felt durable and had a slight weight to it that felt like a quality build, unlike cheap speakers that have a bit of a light weight/plastic more "hollow" feel to them. The design is sleek and pleasant, connecting to my phone was a breeze and quick. I like the waterproof feel of the buttons on top and the charger/aux port on back was very well made and insulated with plastic to keep safe from water. The sound was very crisp and clear, the bass was very good and filled my living room with a nice amount of rich sound for such a small speaker. The battery life was perfect for me, I have used it daily and had no issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend this speaker!

Better than expected.

Actually really impressed. I consider myself a bit of an audiophile, especially when it comes to music! This speaker is actually really good quality. The extra bass is great, although at full volume, it does drop off a little, hence the 4*'s. But other than than that it's great. It does go pretty loud and still sounds good. Battery lasted 2 and half days, in for about 8 hrs and easy to use. I bought it to use at work during the lockdown, and someone I work with was that impressed, they bought one too, so you get 2 reviews for the price of one here haha.

Bluetooth Speaker

Bought to stream music off my phone to it. Plenty loud enough for me. There is an option of streaming 2 devices to it at once, but I haven't tried that yet. The enhanced sound makes it meaty and I have this on all the time. Haven't tested how long the charge lasts. I use it about 30 mins a day. It's easy to use. The charging port is under on the back, I wasn't sure about how much effort I was using to open it but it is very strong and I don't think it will break. It has to be sealed tight as the speaker is waterproof. I had a discount code for £30 when I spent £60 so jumped at the chance to buy this as it had been reduced anyway. Very pleased with it.

Brilliant

This is a very good speaker. Bluetooth connection was simple an straightforward. The sound is plenty loud enough and there is a reasonable amount of lower end. Bass freaks may want to look elsewhere though. There is no distortion, even at high volume and the midrange and high end come through really well. As has been commented elsewhere, the flap to access the charging point is very difficult to open, but to be waterproof it needs to be a tight fit - if you charge it regularly you may want to leave it open. To sum up - a great little unit that is well worth the price.

Great durable speaker

This is a great speaker for the size of it. Sounds brilliant and good for travelling. However the most impressive thing I would say about this speaker is it’s strength and design. I work on wind farms and recently I was working at a height of around 45m. My speaker fell to the ground into ling grass and fully survived. The front mesh had slightly popped out but with a swift push I popped it back in. So as well as sounding great it can also handle a fall. Amazing.

LG PK3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker

Okay Im gonna be fair here. Firstly Im comparing this to the 808 Canz, which cost $22 and sound good for that price range.Well I have watched / read a whole lot of online reviews praising this LG line of bluetooths. And quite frankly, I dont see what the hype is all about, at least not with the PK3. In comparison to the Canz, this sounds fuller and has better fidelity. However, for the price (and all the high praise reviews) this speaker does NOT get loud enough. Also bear in mind that this speaker is somewhat heavy, heavier than the amount of volume output it puts out. From what I saw everyone saying about how loud this speaker is, I expected at least close to twice the output as the Canz (since this has two drivers and the Canz has only one). Now I got this on ... MoreOkay Im gonna be fair here. But in my opinion, the REGULAR price of this speaker should be no more than $30 - $35.If you can get this at a good price and you want something to chill with indoors, that sounds good, then this is cool. But dont expect anything more than that.

One of the best speaker, hands down.

Overall all hands down this speaker has amazing laud and high sound quality it’s has high standards compared to other wireless speakers. The speaker comes with a bass booster button that to me ultimately was a game changer. I used the speaker when I hosted a mini get together and you can truely here the crip sound. The speaker itself is amazingly light for the amount of sound it outputs. The control bottons did have a soft rubber feel that might get damaged over time with people with nails. I really like the leds on the top of speaker as they highlight the primary controls in the dark. Battery wise this speaker really stays to its word I’ve had it 7 hours during the get together and still had some for the next day which I really think is highly impressive. Packs a punch

This is a great on-the-go bluetooth speaker. Its size makes it easy for me to pack it in a backpack or a small bag. I love how loud the audio can be turned up to without any distortion. The bass booster works really well when playing music and packs a punch. When using the speakers to play video dialogue and having the bass booster active, it makes the voices sound flat. However, if I turn off bass booster for listening to video dialogue, it sounds a lot better. This is a minor nuisance because most of the time I'll be using it to listen to music. The water resistance is a nice touch. I do wish that it was dust proof so that I would be more comfortable bringing the speaker to the beach. Overall, I think the speaker sounds great and is very portable.

Waterproof? Not According to the Manual!

It is very strange Argos trumpeted that the PK3 was “Waterproof” I bought it for my bathroom so wanted a splash proof speaker, however on page 5 of the user manual it clearly states (in capital letters) “TO PREVENT FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS PRODUCT TO RAIN OR MOISTURE”. On page 6 it says “This apparatus should not be exposed to water (dipping or splashing)”. I thought “How can this equipment be called Waterproof?”. Being a retired electronic engineer I looked carefully at all the box & paperwork supplied plus the rating plates on the speaker case and there is no other mention of water resistance. However I downloaded the full specification from the L.G website and it has an IPX7 rating. Much better than I need. It is protected against “strong water jets and waves” .I think LG should update user manual to give a realistic assessment of its water resistance.Such as “when charging or connected by the line jack to an external signal source “TO PREVENT FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS PRODUCT TO RAIN OR MOISTURE”. With the input socket cover securely closed this item is unlikely to be damaged by occasional splashing of water or light rain.A nice little gadget, charges quickly, simple to use and pairs right off the bat. However it is spoiled by the fact that someone let the accountants over rule the engineers! For a few pence more this unit could have stereo speakers after all it has an amp for each channel
