Hate it. I bought a LG Smart tv in 2015 and it died this year. It was SMART! And by that I mean it was easy to navigate and very easy for a new beginner to a SMART tv. I could download apps easily whereas this smart tv is convoluted, difficult to understand, too many apps they try to entice you to join, and adverts to what ia streaming, apps you could purchase and it is just a tv commercial station. It's simplicity has been sold out. And because Smart TV's are programmed for so many things, their years are numbered, 4-7 years apparently so I was luck with 6+ years. So, I can see this will last a couple. Oh! And the home dashboard does not help you download the ABC iview or SBS Demand. I have to go to search then link into the web. I contacted LG support and they asked me to take a photo of the dashboard so they could understand my problem. But, I was on my laptop. Then they asked me to take a video. I don't have great techno skills and that is why I bought another LG SmartTv. Then they told me a technician would contact me in two days. That was over a week ago. Whilst, this tv does have a fabulously clear picture. and the sound is good I would not recommend it. It should be easy to navigate and it is not.

The TV itself is a quality product at a good price - the size is just right for my lounge room. I don't understand why the remote control is different to the remote control for my previous LG tv. The info function on the previous remote / tv was very handy - now to get the same info about programs seems a very clunky process. The magic remote keeps flicking to a cursor bubble which is annoying. But, as I said, the tv itself is a quality product at a good price.

This TV is awesome. Easy to set up and easy to learn how to use. The remote doubles as a mouse pointer so navigation is simple once you get used to how it moves on screen. Great picture quality too(to be expected with 4K). The phone app is handy as you can operate the tv from anywhere but I found you have to be on the same network which is only an issue if, like me, you run 2 or more networks. One con that I found is that if you have set up a reminder, the tv switches on even when you are out. Still looking into this in case it was something I did.

It has an excellent picture and is very quick starting. It is let down by the so called “smart remote” which is multifunctional and accompanying documentation. Try pausing a program to take a phone call. My LG Oled has a PAUSE button. With this TV it was a discovery exercise. Which HDMI is to be used for ARC ? Lots more answers to questions had to be “discovered”, too many for this review. LG has obviously decided that senior persons buying this TV would benefit from some brain exercise. Thanks LG, but I would have rather spent time in the garden If you don’t want to go through this nightmare investigate at the point of sale the remote of brands and what support documentation is included. Other brands can’t be this bad.
I have had this TV for a couple of days and so far I am very happy with it. It is a great quality TV with great sound. It doesn't sound tinny like some of the cheaper TV's. The remote is cool. You can use it to point and click (much like the Wii) or you can use the buttons to go through the menus. You can also link the TV to your smart phone and use your smart phone as a remote. It is missing a pause button on the remote, I think if you click back it will pause it for you. As I've only had it a couple of days, some things I'm still learning to use. Its menu system is easy to operate and install apps. Set up was pretty straight forward. Picture is clear with great colours.
In our 80’s needed the simplest controller which turned out to be Lg or Samsung. Opted for Lg on good reviews and research online and salesperson at Harvey Norman. All works brilliantly BUT again the instructions need major rewrite. So small print , not enough clear diagrams to follow even to do basic setup. Luckily had son visiting who was much more savvy than elder parents. Not the only company who has this issue . Need clear print instructions regardless of language and very clear diagrams and parts identify pics and labels. Tv work brilliantly thanks apart from miserable print copy of all instructions
I am mostly very happy with this television, the picture is very good and the sound quality is generally acceptable. It is definitely good value for money. There are a couple of things I would change. For a start I would like to be able to remove or reallocate the buttons for Netflix, Prime, Disney etc. I don't use any of these services. I am not too happy with the lack of controls when viewing anything on an external hard drive or thumb drive. The buttons for the services listed above could (should?) be made to control such things as pause, fast forward, rewind etc. There is also a problem with recordings on thumb drives where the video keeps stopping and starting, as if the transfer rate is too slow for the recordings to run normally. Anyone not using external ... MoreI am mostly very happy with this television, the picture is very good and the sound quality is generally acceptable. It is definitely good value for money. Replacement television for our 2016 Lg 55UH652T which was excellent. This is huge 65inch Replacement of our 55inch. . It has two feet mounts for standing up old one had central base / foot. So tv cabinet needs to be long to accommodate as didnt want it mounted on wall which i think was expected. Sound awesome picture excellent still getting use to remote control as quite different to what we are use too. Hard to navigate wouldnt be good for older pensioner or sight impaired Person . Buttons small writing even smaller , manual for installation mainly & remote use, Qr code via download manual . Bit quirky but getting use to it something new yea!!. We are aware that the 55UQ9000PSD is not a top of the range item. We don't need this anyway. We are no tech-nerds and just keep up with what's required to run the show. We usually feed our PVR in a HDMI input and play the sound direct over a Yamaha AV receiver. That works just fine and the picture quality is excellent by our standards. Do we need blacker than black (OLED) etc? No! As soon as we use the actual smart TV there are a few shortcomings. The processor is a bit slow. Webpages take a long time to load. Why do we have to log in to install a new app? The offered streaming apps are great and good to have, but we need the TV catchup streaming apps as well. The offered streaming apps are great and good to have, but we need the TV catchup streaming apps as well. The mouse pointer disappears within seconds just when we need it. Scrolling through the screen can be quite a challenge. The optical sound output has of course no direct volume control. Took us a while to make the remote control handle the volume on the Yamaha, but we managed in the end. Good feature to have and not taken for granted. Why no built in Chrome Cast? We could run just about everything from our phones! The handling of the user interface and WebOS is manageable but working the screen is a bit clumsy, especially when the air-mouse pointer times out all the time and has to be re-activated. Have yet to find a menu to hopefully set a longer time-out. The actual setup menu is well structured and we have no complaints about that! The TV as such is great for us. The smart part is workable but we had worse before and for elderly users like us a bit over engineered. Many of the features we don't need (no games or sport). The bloated user interface slows things down.
We bought this tv only to find its only 57inches. The measurements given by Eric whom I chatted to online earlier if you convert it, its not a 65inch. Now hes said to return it to the store for a refund but I doubt they would refund it as its not their fault LG advertises it as 65inch when its not. Too late to call the store we bought it from but we will on Monday and hope they can help us. We will take it further as we wanted a 65inch. If you people had put on the box that hey these are the measurements people would know its not a 65inch. 1454mm in width..wow convert it people its not 65inches. Our first tv was an LG 60 inch is just a little wider than this. Trust me its sitting in the back cupboard n we’ve measured it. Its short. Come on LG why are u putting up ... MoreWe bought this tv only to find its only 57inches. The measurements given by Eric whom I chatted to online earlier if you convert it, its not a 65inch.
