These effects reduced my overall comfort of viewing (aka: picture-window-viewing ease). With their very fast focal speed, I also often found myself easily "overshooting" my main focal points. I'm use to binoculars that are 3X slower (1.5 turns) to achieve sharp CF and all the way out at 100 yds!Overall, the BX-4 Pro Guide HD 8X32's exemplary quality of build, excellent optical presentation (in their usable FOV) and ergonomically compact size\weight allow these binoculars to compete well in their investment range marketplace.

I debated and researched for more hours then I care to admit about binoculars. I had it between these, vortex viper and maven b.6. I know the maven are a step up and there is a price difference. All in all I would buy these again out of them all. Great glass for hunting whitetail in Michigan and chasing mulies (also plan on elk soon, once I have enough points.) in Colorado.

I have used 10X Vortex Vipers (old version, not the newer HD's) for about 15 years for glassing / elk hunting in the West. They have been exceptional. I bought Leupolds as a second pair for my son to use. Selected them due to a $425 sale price. Took them home and compared them side by side across high / mid / low / nearly dark light conditions including both mixed lighting and partial concealed views. Short summary is that Leupolds are optically identical to the old Vipers across the board.... differences are nearly indistinguishable across all conditions including factors such as fringing and aberration. But the Leupolds were $75 less because they were on sale, so they won on value. The help I received in choosing my binoculars was great. I knew what I wanted, but didn't know which set of binoculars was going to give me what I wanted. Trying all different brands and models is the only way to go and you cant do that buying on line. If you want professional help to get the right equipment for you, then go to Jacobs digital. The Leupold BX-4 are excellent.
I was looking at upgrading my Vortex Crossfire 10x42. These are a huge step up in clarity, low light, no glare, and edge to edge clarity. They also are great for spotting animals in the shade where the Crossfires are not. The Leupold box-4 Pro Guide are better than the comparable Vortex Vipers. Fast shipping as always from Scheels.
I had a Leupold set that I had sent in for repair. Instead of a repair they sent me a replacement set... the above set of binoculars! Leupold says if they can't repair, they will send you an equivalent set or better. All I can say is that they went soooo much better! A great company, a great set of binoculars and a very happy current and future customer! 5 stars aren't enough... I'd give them a perfect 10 if I could!
I picked up the gen2’s a little while ago. So far everything seems solid my only real issue is the extra eye cups I find the cups on the gen 1 quite solid however because the cups are removable they aren’t very solid as you need to be able to stretch them over the plastic keeper… I thought sweet several options but I’m thinking I prob won’t ever change them…. So not an awesome feature in my view… I like the look and feel of the Gen 2s over the gen1.. the glass is nice and clear .. low light ability is a def better then my bushnells .
I just received these today and have spent a few hours trying them out on butterflies, hummingbirds, scanning our pollinator field to see what's blooming, reading the high school scoreboard a half mile away, etc. I'm very impressed with their clarity, brightness, and contrast. They feel solid and well built and are comfortable with a good grip. I'm still using my old Nikon Monarch binoculars (not Monarch 7 or even 5, but the original Monarch) so this is quite an upgrade for me. My wife is an avid birder who uses Zeiss Victory SF binoculars, so that gives me something very high end to compare them with, and I think these Leupolds stand up very well. I'll probably put my Midway binocular harness on these anyway. The diopter adjustment locks in very securely but is a bit difficult to find -- just pull out on the end cap of the focus wheel and there it is; push back in to lock.
Very clear image, natural color, clear edge.I very much like the lockable diopter adjustment in the focus knob. I now want all my binoculars to have that feature.Very comfortable in hand.Objective lens covers are functional but could be easily dislodged. Ocular covers are functional as well though very stiff.The strap and bag are OK, not very refined.The so-so details are all user fixable if need be.The binoculars are very good, would recommend and I might buy another pair just cuz.

I then tried the BX-4s and I was totally blown away. I have had experience with previous Leupold binoculars from 10 years ago. For me, the BX-4s were just more life like out of the image that came from them. Edge to Edge clarity were amazing. Construction was top notch. The only negative is that yes it does come with a pouch and neck strap but, the BX-2s come with a harness pouch..that just bizarre to me.
