My 8 year old grandson and I built this. He has several Lego models. He has been building Lego since the age of. four. The enjoyment he gets from building these is clearly evident. This model has a pullback motor. He has several of this type Once built the real fun starts. All models are lined up and raced up our long hall. With Lego you are guaranteed quality build and the instructions are second to none. To have an item holding his attention for the past 5 almost years is a true testament to how good this product is. He is looking to build some Star-wars models.next. This will be our next adventure. Many thanks Lego. Victor & Gareth.

My son has really enjoyed racing this Lego around! He has a very big imagination, but you don't even need a big one for this one. With the capability of racing across the floor he doesn't even need to imagine it because it is really happening. Fun to build and then it has use after the fact. I would recommend this Lego.

I bought the LEGO technic for My grandsons 7th Birthday, he loves LEGO. He was very excited when I gave it to him and wanted to do it then and there, but had to wait until after his birthday dinner. The next time I visited him we had a great time playing with the dragster. I ordered the LEGO on line, the first time by myself, The Myer site was so easy to use and when I went in to pick it up the staff couldn’t have been nicer and so helpful. A good experience all round, thank you Myer.

Fun Set
26 April 2020

I have never been a big fan of the Technic pull backs. With that said, this is a very good use of that. The bugcatcher and flame elements have a loose fit. As this thing scoots across the floor those parts look the part. And the adjustable wheelie bar lets it go straight or pull a wheelstand off the line. Just a matter of how you set it. Very good set for a quick build, and a good use of the pull back motor system.

I am a massive fan of the technic line and although I always put off the smaller sets as I love a big build I was actually quite excited to start this kit. The pull back mechanism is an awesome inclusion and gives a lot of fun playability to the set - but, be careful they do have a tendency to run the full length of my table and need catching before they hit the floor. The main build here is the Dragster and it even comes with the ability to run it with the front wheels lifted off the ground. I didn't find this as smooth to operate as all 4 wheels on the ground when playing but your mileage may vary (pun not intended but I'll go with it). Looks really cool when built, I was surprised how nice the end vehicle was at it did look a little basic on the box art. This is one case where the stickers really do elevate the finished product and give it a nice dimensionality if you are adding it to your display. The second build is the Hot Rod which is probably my favourite version of the build. Instructions for this build need to be downloaded from Lego but come in .pdf format so you can access them from more or less any electronic device. I use my tablet as it is a 10" screen so makes them easy to read.Fun to build with a lot of familiar Technic techniques. This would definitely be a great introduction set to the range but be warned, they are addicting!Number Of Pieces: 225Approximate Price Per Piece: £0.08Build TimeDragster - 1 HourHot Rod - 45 Minutes

It was clearly a returned item.
4 December 2020

It has clearly been previously returned. The paper was torn off as if someone had ripped tape off and it stuck. Possibly a birthday gift. How can I give that as a Christmas gift to my friends son? (I cant) How could Walmart think it was ok to ship it out like that? Never again. I dont have time to buy and return things like this. I have circled the ripped paper. At first I thought it was part of the photo until I saw the dangling paper on the side and looked closer.

My 7 year old loves it

I thought the price was good for a LegoTechnic. It seemed to have a few less moving pieces than the average L Technic but has a windup piece which is a nice piece to add to the Lego collection and than you can have fun working out other uses for. There is a second set of instructions to make a different car, in theory available on the Lego website. We couldn't find it, emailed Lego and they replied very promptly attaching the instructions.Delivery from George arrived much earlier than the date they estimated it'd arrive by.Thanks!

Surprisingly fun!

I bought this set mostly because I liked the look of the alternate model - but it turns out tweaking the main one for ideal performance has been so much fun it could be quite a while before I get to that!First thing I noticed before I'd even given it a test run was the multiple heights possible for the wheelie bar; the instructions didn't quite get this across to me but fiddling around I found 2+ lower positions including one that *looked* too low by eye but turned out to be just about perfectly in line with the front & rear wheels. Then I had some trouble with the rear tires slipping on takeoff (even after cleaning the floor and tires - a little moisture improves the rubber/road connection); it seemed some slightly 'slicker' tires might be more ideal, but then I ... MoreI bought this set mostly because I liked the look of the alternate model - but it turns out tweaking the main one for ideal performance has been so much fun it could be quite a while before I get to that!First thing I noticed before I'd even given it a test run was the multiple heights possible for the wheelie bar; the instructions didn't quite get this across to me but fiddling around I found 2+ lower positions including one that *looked* too low by eye but turned out to be just about perfectly in line with the front & rear wheels. Then I had some trouble with the rear tires slipping on takeoff (even after cleaning the floor and tires - a little moisture improves the rubber/road connection); it seemed some slightly 'slicker' tires might be more ideal, but then I noticed the 42118 Grave Digger with its bigger tires was outperforming it.Looking around at other models in the house I found a pair of 49.5 x 20 tires (compared to the included 42.5 x 22) and was impressed with how much better it worked despite the narrower tires. The tread seems to grip better and the bigger diameter boosted takeoff speed, without noticeable 'wheelie control' problems.I'd like to try a little gearing along with some slightly *lower* 'slick' tires too before I move on the dragster build. Definately a lot of 'playing around' bang for your buck here! I'm looking forward to trying the 42104 Race Truck model as well,

Wheelie action

This is a quick and easy build. I only part I don't care for is the flames out if the exhaust, so I left that off. My son plays with it. It is durable and won't fall apart. The wheelie action is great. And the pull back gear is such a wonderful idea. I would recommend this toy. Family time, Learning, and a joy. Great add to the collection.

My son has always been lego mad since a young boy, nothing has changed so when I saw this it was a must for christmas. I was so pleased with it, as usual excellent quality and brilliant service. Would definitely recommend for any lego fan, what ever their age.
