Really cute set for young kids - given to a child under 5 who needed help with constructing, but who really enjoyed how well this set lends itself to imaginative play. One side of the truck opens up on a hinge point and the sliding window on the other side is functional, which makes this set really interactive as an ice cream truck. Older kids enjoyed this set as well

My 5-year-old son really enjoyed building this set, and he and his brother got a lot of fun out of playing with it. Why is the customer a skateboarder? Stop asking silly questions - skateboards are cool. The van itself is kind of hard to pop the top off of, which makes accessing the ice cream a bit difficult. Nonetheless, there is a nice selection of frozen treats, with 3 flavors and two Popsicles.I will never not be annoyed by stickers in Lego sets. People, Lego is charging a premium for its sets, and it is probably saving like 8 cents on each set by not printing decals on pieces. But these stickers really take the cake. You've got menu stuickers, sign stickers, license plate stickers, windows stickers, and really long skinny stickers for bumpers. Give me a break! ... MoreMy 5-year-old son really enjoyed building this set, and he and his brother got a lot of fun out of playing with it. Why is the customer a skateboarder? This basically guarantees that kids will be asking you for help - which is fine of course, but the physical act of putting these teeny tiny stickers, with a one shot chance, is quite aggravating.

My 5 year old put it together with minimal assistance. A 7-8 year old who is good with legos could likely do it independently. Hardest part was the sticker placement, I did that part because my 5 year old isn’t capable of carefully placed the sticker straight. She needed some help snapping in some pieces but that’s just her lack of hand strength. The set was so cute and well designed. The directions were as expected, fairly easy to follow. I would highly recommend it.
STICKER ALERT: There are a LOT of stickers in this little kit and I felt compelled to fit them as they are, in my opinion, necessary to get the finished look. Sadly, my sticker game is not the greatest (as you can see from my pictures they are invariably wonky).Other than the sticker issue I really enjoyed this build and loved the little details. You get a couple of ice cream cones and ice lollies to put in the truck. Add in the minifigures (love the skateboard and the dog in particular) with their goodies and it is a great little kit.Love the colours used for the truck and it really does emulate an ice cream truck really well. The build was straightforward and even though it is small there are lots of fun detailing and gave me cause to make excited squeaks ... MoreSTICKER ALERT: There are a LOT of stickers in this little kit and I felt compelled to fit them as they are, in my opinion, necessary to get the finished look. First of all, all LEGO sets are good. So this review is assessing whether this is a must have set, a nice to have set, or a set for someone else set. This is a small/medium set in the city theme. With 200 pieces, the cost per piece is average. The focus of this set is the ice cream truck, which has a lot of fun features. The design of the truck itself is spot on. The proportion is good. Special kudos go to the design of the top of the truck. I though the red bricks give the truck a realistic fun and decorative look. The giant popsicle is movable. You can push that up to indicate that it is “open for business”. I also like the details on the side truck mirrors. One side of the truck opens up allowing full access to the “shop” part of the truck. The skateboard and the helmet is always fun, and who doesn’t love the dog. This is a fun set to have on it’s own, and it will fit into a city theme space extremely well. Highly recommended.
Cute ice cream truck I thought would just be fun to add to my 123 Sesame Street. The truck was fun to put together. One side swings open and the other side has a real sliding window. There's a tiny steering wheel, dash board, cash register, money, ice cream. The stickers are a little hard to get even. On the big blue ice cream piece I advise you put the sticker all the way at the top of the block...unlike I did...so the drip will look better. To me it was an affordable fun vehicle to add and especially fun since I grew up in the first years of Sesame Street and did have a neighborhood ice cream truck in real life and still do. Nostalgia at it's best. This is worth a price of 16 or less, imo. What kid or grown kid doesn't want to see the Ice Cream Truck coming on a hot ... MoreCute ice cream truck I thought would just be fun to add to my 123 Sesame Street. The truck was fun to put together. Wow when my son saw this he was so excited what do kids love better than lego ICE CREAM! The two combined together was the quietest time I have experienced in the last 8 years! The concentration that went into making his truck which he did all buy himself! Very easy good instructions. Not only did he enjoy making it he hasn’t stopped playing with it either! Excellent toy definitely recommend! Xx
The Lego City Ice-cream Truck is a bright, colorful set. The colors are actually the first thing that caught my eye when I saw the box art. There’s a fair amount of playability in the set, but it would also look good on display, if you have a Lego city set up. You can actually serve ice cream from the truck and drive it around. The box includes 2 numbered bags and 2 instruction books. Both books build the truck. As usual with Lego, the instructions are clear, and should be doable by 5+.There’s a big sticker sheet with this set, which I wasn’t super happy to see. Several of the stickers, such as the menu boards, need to be aligned or the truck looks a bit off. I’m quite the perfectionist with sticker placement. Please press the helpful button, and read the whole review thank you so much!I got this set as a surprise gift, and this was great! It had 200 pieces to build. I (remember I’m 10) took about half an hour to build this. It is great for ages 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10. Any kid younger than 6 might need some assistance. This is so organized (when you finish it of course). I love how detailed LEGO sets are. There are so many accessories like popsicles, cones, and 3 ice cream flavors(vanilla, strawberry and, chocolate). It was just like the real thing. For a con I’d say (this doesn’t apply to this set), but all the LEGO sets, the prices have gone too high up. Like $75 for a 100 piece set.Overall this is a great product. I highly recommend you buy it.-Pippa
