This is only my second Friends set ever, having been slightly off-put in the past by the costs of these sets. I was however fascinated by the design of the structure itself and also intrigued by the amount and range of the botanical contents. It is a really fun set to build and admire once complete. Putting two together to create a larger version would be a good idea!

Iām going to start this review by saying the Botanic Garden is easily the best Lego friends set Iāve ever seen or built and a phenomenal Lego set in general. Iāve loved building it and found it really relaxing and joyous. I bought it for myself but as Iām also a parent so it will get played with as well.Overall itās really fun build, not at all repetitive with some really great building techniques. The part use is super innovative and includes some fantastic recolours of previous pieces. The green saxophones for example, make a fantastic monkey jar plant and itās great fun making all the plants. I love the botanical Lego collection and this appeals to me as an adult in a similar way, but it would also will fit superbly in with my Modular buildings. I could also see it in a Winter Village with a few snowy extras.Itās interesting enough for an adult builder and very relaxing, but I think a more capable child could easily make this set unaided (my daughter is ten and could manage for example). There is loads of play value here for kids, she loves all the plants and the butterflies in particular. However, we are now planning to put two together and make a bigger garden. The mini dolls are lovely and the colour scheme is wonderful, gone are the old bright garish pink and purple colour schemes of the old Lego Friends, this is just gorgeous and visually very appealing. I picked this set up in person and was surprised by how heavy it was, you do seem to get a lot of parts for your money and lots of pieces spare.I would highly recommend this set, itās gorgeous, fun to build, had lots of play value and would be a wonderful display piece or addition to a Lego town, especially as itās not especially mini doll rather than minifigure sized. Perfect!

I got this set for myself because it reminded me of a trip to the Botanical Gardens in Richmond, VA that my daughter shared with me for my birthday. Lego was having a displays through out the garden which was fascinating. This kit seems to be a replica of the butterfly garden there. It was fun to put together, very detailed and I loved the explanation of the plants and butterflies in the book. All in all a favorite.

I suspect I am not alone as an AFOL in saying that the Friends theme was of zero interest to me. Then I saw this and thought it looked fabulous. Sadly, my initial enthusiasm was short lived when I discovered the back of the set was open - a bit like a Wild West film set. To be fair to Lego the set is aimed at kids who would want to pose the supplied figures within. So a quick search on Rebrickable revealed a full build - i.e. no open back - which required the purchase of two sets and 4 other parts. The instructions were simple to follow and I am really happy with the result. Iāve added the set to my moc park and it looks fantastic.Recommended
Got it for my daughter (really for me!) I adored it and so did all my kids. Just beyond cool! The tiny plants are amazing and the details are perfection. And best of all lots of really fun pieces to reuse in our own creations! My daughter couldnāt wait to steal the butterflyās and my son kept coming back for plants to add to his spooky garden! šlove it. Almost want to buy another one to keep intact for me!
My work has a butterfly conservatory so I was interested but once I bought and built it, the level of detail in this set blew me away. It easily tricks you into thinking it's a display piece rather than a play set. It is filled with gorgeous architecture and plants - all based on real species (as you finish each plant, the booklet tells you a little bit about it). I love the small details that comes from the research the team did, such as the blue morpho butterfly snacking on an orange and some watermelon.I have it set up at work and my coworkers enjoy finding new details to love when they come by. It's beautiful at every angle and the open corner design gives you a great view of everything inside. I think the open play set design is only bothersome if you're ...Ā MoreMy work has a butterfly conservatory so I was interested but once I bought and built it, the level of detail in this set blew me away. I think the open play set design is only bothersome if you're adding it to a tabletop LEGO city (other comments mention how you can buy two sets to make it a closed building). If you love plants, bugs, or architecture: Overall, you'll be happy with the amount of detail and quality for the LEGO price. For those who buy it to play: the figures come with many props that lead to good jumping off points to interact with the set (watering can and shears for gardening, a book and pen for research or art, a camera for visiting, and a little picnic).
I got this for my daughter who is 11. She is at that weird age where toys arent as interesting, but she isnt old enough to get into the "tween/teen" phase either. She was so happy to get this lego set. Its really neat how they have a pond with fish under the water. Lego sets are something that you cant ever grow out of. At 35 I still have fun with legos. š
When buying a LEGO set, my partner and I look for a great build experience and a beautiful result. I typically don't buy Friends sets, but this one caught my attention with its well-balanced colours. I was a bit surprised there weren't more reviews on fan sites, but I went ahead and bought it as a gift for my partner. We both were very impressed with how fun it was to build (so many excellent mini-builds) and how beautiful the end result is. This is now my highest recommended set at this price point.
I am blown away by this set! The neoclassical aesthetic is just beautiful, and the use of color is brilliant. I really enjoyed building all of the plants and will definitely be rearranging my display to make sure this set gets a prominent spot. I think it complements the flower shop from UNITY Street beautifully. I also love getting the recolored pieces. Finally getting a new color for the pin flowers is really exciting. I love the lime frog and brown ducks as well. Please keep these 12+ Friends sets coming!
Just finished building this, my first Friends set, and oh my goodness what an absolute joy. There is so much to love about this set throughout the build. Loved the lily pond and the clever technique to submerge the koi carp and the frog, it looks stunning. The plants are created from ridiculous parts usage resulting in realistic looking plants, how did the designers come up with those? There are some gorgeous butterflies included in the set which is a pleasant touch. The architecture is beautiful and graceful and the trees have a lovely organic shape. Itās got to be one of the best sets of the year, certainly at this price. The current wave of Friends sets look really good, and Iāll probably be tempted to buy another!
