Coming from having used Samsung's T1/T3/T5 series of external SSDs, I like this as it is more rugged versus the metal/plastic. As a photographer I find it easier to have this in my bag and not worry about it getting dinged/scratched. It is also faster than the Samsungs as well. Win win!There is the SSD Pro version of this, but there is a 2x increase in price with the 2x speeds, and 1GB/s for read/write is perfectly quick for me.

I love this LaCie SSD, I have been using it since I got it. I use it to keep my important photos and videos backed up, as well as saving them on other devices. This is more of a backup for me.

I bought mainly to backup my MBP M1 14 Inch as Time Machine, it is really fast when compared to hard drives. I also likeIt's sturdy yet small enough to carry. I keep it on my desk and plug/backup every week. Will see how long it last!I would recommend, it's pit pricey.
I picked this up for easier travel, and was really happy with it. It’s quite small. Being SSD, it’s really fast. They could have made the “short” cable maybe an inch or two longer, however. But I’m really happy with this drive. I used it for Photoshop work, and it works beautifully. I realize SSD are more expensive, but it seems they as long as they’ve been an option, they are too expensive for the space they offer.

Really small and Really rugged, it’s size is like a credit card, yet got some nice weight in the hands.-Of course it’s a fast drive, and really easy for anyone to use. The cables are a bit too short, but definitely not a deal breaker.
This is the SSD I've been looking for. It's speed allows me to edit 4K 4:2:2 400Mbps video directly from the drive. It's very small and the bright orange color is very helpful when looking for it :) There is a faster option with the Pro drive but to me, the extra speed is not necessary. The ratio performance and price for this drive is perfect. Get the 2TB and it will stay with you for years! My only cons is that the cable could have been longer. This is an easy fix!

No drops in performance in long sessions, and no random disconnects from the system.It has worked great all the time, the performance has no dips it's very a well engineered controller and m2 memory and heat dissipation is no problem at all. So bad that it topped off at 100MB transfer at times, I couldn't load audio samples from the disk for playback.Testing on another system on other mundane tasks these SSDs perform just fine, but under heavy work load they start to croak.Working with audio is all about thousands of small audio files being manipulated, rendered, deleted, sampled, recorded and exported, and if the hard drive cant keep up the DAW freezes and work gets lost. Read and write speeds of very small files never reach more than 800 to 1000 GBps transfer even on the fastest drives or interfaces.So after putting this drive through all my toughest and biggest sessions, it's just like working off the integrated Mac Mini drive, seamless.It's built for pro work, not show-off speeds that drop after intense workload. The disconnects of other SSDs I could assume are the result of bad heat management.The price is what it is, but for my peace of mind it's worth it.
