I'm a self employed general contractor, and I bought the Accu Cut XL so that I would not have to keep my Festool track saw in my work van any longer. The Accu Cut XL works great for breaking down sheet goods on the jobsite in locations where setting up my table saw is inconvenient. I even use it with a Milwaukee M18 6.5" circular saw to trim rake wall roof decking and eave roof decking overhangs. I would highly recommend it for these uses.

If you're looking for a budget track saw, this is a great solution. The price is right for the quality of the results. The cuts are straight, accurate, and clean. I couldn't get these results with a circular saw jig that I made. Now for the things I would change if I could. I do wish that setup was easier. You need to take the time to connect the pieces and verify the pieces are straight with a straight edge. It would be nice to have 2 50" tracks instead of 4 pieces. It would be nice if sled saw clamp was sturdier. I have a Dewalt circular saw with a raise lip on the base plate and the clamp seems a bit flimsy and finicky to clamp down. I wish the tolerances between the circular saw adapter and the track was better. There is some play in the track, maybe 1/16". I added some UHMW tape to the edge of the guides on the saw adapter remove the slop. The anti-slip strips work great for most materials. If your material is smooth like prefinished plywood, you'll need the track clamps to make sure it doesn't slip. That being said, the results are fantastic once you take the time to setup properly.

Most people don't carry a #1 phillips driver - but better than allen wrenchThere needs to be a #1 driver included wth the set and a place to store it on the saw sled to make it more convenient for assembly and dis assemblyOverall, for the cost of this product I find it is a disappointment. I have a friend who has the $400 corded plunge saw and guide. That product is almost flawless. I had hoped this product would be of better quality but it is not much better than the cheaper $50 kit at the local lumber store.

Decent, But Limited
16 December 2022

It's better than free handing it, that's for sure. But it's also fairly fragile; I ended up gouging the plastic guide track within the first week when I backed out a spinning saw an inch without thinking. And while I love the length to be able to rip 4x8 sheet, I'm having to re-secure the end piece almost every thing. Nothing wrong with plastic, but I feel like a little more metal in the whole rig might be worthwhile.

I bought the Accu-cut XL,
30 December 2022

I bought the Accu-cut XL, I am not impressed! There is to much movement between the track and the sled, yes you can make it work by forcing the sled to one side, it is nice that once you set it up and cut the glue strip you can set it right on your pencil mark and make the cut. After making several cuts I realized what was going on with the movement between the sled and the track, you have to put pressure, not a lot of pressure to keep it from walking off the line. So I cut them slightly larger and run them across my table saw. Kind of sorry I bought it..

Maybe it’s me?
5 February 2023

I’ve used the Accu-cut XL a few times now, mainly to make long cuts in plywood sheets that are too unwieldy to handle on my table saw set up. The initial trim of the zero-clearance strips was messy…I had blue shavings on everything, but to be fair I got it cleaned up after a bit. Then when I used the Accu-cut, I got a little more. The sled mount is not very robust, and the sled flexes easily. There is more play between the saw sled and the track than I realized, so a slight twist of the saw can “trim” more off the strip. There is definitely a learning curve. The saw must be mounted carefully, and pressure applied to the saw must be kept very balanced, being careful to not slightly twist or tilt while maintaining a light but not too heavy downward pressure. There is definitely a learning curve. The saw must be mounted carefully, and pressure applied to the saw must be kept very balanced, being careful to not slightly twist or tilt while maintaining a light but not too heavy downward pressure. This is not too difficult if you are ripping lightweight panels 12” from one edge. However, ripping 3/4” plywood down the middle requires a stronger push and farther reach, a combination I found challenging when using the Accu-cut. My technique is improving, but the zero-clearance strips show the wear and tear of my learning curve. They’ll have to be replaced sooner than I had hoped. I’d like to see the sled a bit more robust, with a more secure attachment to the saw. Bottom line is it does do the job, but there is more of a learning curve than might be expected.

Very good, could be great
25 September 2022

For the price the Accucut is a very good product. My only complaint is the machining could be a bit better. The sled could fit a little better on the track and I had one track piece that was not even close to a good fit but Kreg shipped out a whole new kit rather than a track extension. Great customer service! Also the edge pieces don’t fit end to end. They leave a small gap which the directions say not to do. Leave a little short on each end of the extensions for no gap in the middle BUT if you attach two into an 8 foot track there will be a gap. All in all a good product for the price but it could have been great with just a little more care for tolerances.

Works as intended, some design nuisances, be patient with setup
9 February 2021

Be patient with the setup if you want goods results. I would suggest doing the setup long before you need it for a project. As for my experience, I had to shim under the arms that hold the saw to the guide to accomodate my thicker saw plate. Aligning the tracks was simple. Would have preferred to have set screws that tighten with allen key. The phillips style is too easy to strip even with the right tip. You have to trim the guide strips with your saw to get an edge you can use to setup your cuts. The strips are a soft plastic (vinyl?) and when you do the step to trim them it makes an awful mess of statically charged plastics chips/dust. Cleaning up the mess was most of the set up for me. Cut quality will still depend on user ability and condition of your saw and blade. So going forward it will do what I need it to. I am just disappointed in some of the design details.
