I was able to make scones in my mixer for the first time, and they turned out amazing. Using this pastry beater I was able to achieve the correct consistency for the dough without touching with my warm hands.Love that it's stainless steel, stays cool and is easy to clean.

Relative to the standard K beater, this one breaks up butter or lard much faster and does a better job of incorporating flour and fats. I have the large 7quart mixer and there is sufficient capacity of machine and beater to make pastry for four pies per batch. The machine is untaxed and the beater is excellent.
