I've always loved butter. To be honest, I don't know anyone who doesn't actually like butter. I'm a registered dietitian and to be honest I prefer to cook with butter over margarine and always have. Last year we spent several weeks in Germany. While in Germany we obviously tried a variety of foods. One thing we quickly realized was the butter in Europe is very different than the butter in America. It has a different taste. When we got back to America. We very much missed European food. I decided to give this a try to see how close it was to European butter. This Irish butter is definitely worth the extra cost. It has a creamier texture and flavor than most butters in America. This is our go-to butter for adding to Brrad or bagels.

Kerrygold makes delicious European butter at an excellent price. I don’t use American butter anymore except to bake. Plus, I’ve found when baking with European butter, you have to adjust for the varying fat content. On whatever you butter, you will delight in a luxurious and creamy texture. It may be a little salty for some, so there’s the unsalted version you can try and add salt if need be. Value is excellent compared with other brands of European butter. It used to be difficult to source. Now it’s everywhere. Love #kerrygold P.S. The Irish #cheddar is fantastic, too.

I grew up in Europe. Milk, meat, butter, veggies all taste different in different parts of the world. I love kerrygold butter. It is produced in Cork, Ireland (not to far from where my relatives live). Kerrygold butter reminds me so much of my aunts making soda bread in the hearth and us eating still warm with our beautiful yellow creamy butter from grass feed local cows. Oh so delicious and creamy! Irish butter is higher in fat because it has a lower water count. But the higher fat content is the better omega fats for your body. It’s perfect for cooking or baking. The taste is so hard to explain but so worth the extra cost! It comes in a beautiful gold foil colored box. Very recognizable! I highly recommend it! But fair warning: once you try it you won’t want any ... MoreI grew up in Europe. Milk, meat, butter, veggies all taste different in different parts of the world. I love kerrygold butter. KerryGold Irish Butter is absolutely the best butter that I've ever tasted. Creamy, milky, a beautiful golden color with a hint of salt, it makes everything that it's spread on so much better. It's literally taken toast, English muffins and corn on the cob to the next level. It may be a little pricier, but it's definitely worth it. Apparently grass fed cows do actually produce the most fabulous butter
I had a weird butter phase. I had a friend that went to France. The thing she talked about most wasn't the sites, it was the food (mainly the butter). I ended up becoming really curious. I went online and looked up a bunch of reviews and found some forums. After about a month of research; over the following 6 months I ordered about 30-40 different kinds of butter. A lot you couldn't find in the United States so I had to order them from specialty stores. At the end of this weird fixation I came to the conclusion that Kerrygold is the best butter. A few got close but none were better. I know it's weird to fixate in something like this but butter can really change the flavor of what you put it on. Kerrygold is creamy and velvety. A few got close but none were better. I know it's weird to fixate in something like this but butter can really change the flavor of what you put it on. Kerrygold is creamy and velvety. It comes from grass fed cows which change the flavor of the butter and make it more yellow naturally. It has a more noticeable, very slightly tangy flavor. Everyone that's tried it says it's the best butter they've ever eaten. I feel weird writing this passionately about butter. But seriously, it makes a big difference. The fats you cook with absorb into the item your cooking and set a sort of base for the flavor. Depending on what fat or oil you cook with it can really change the flavor of whatever you put it on or cook.
Ok...all snide reviews and socially inappropriate reviews aside...this butter is hands down the best I've ever tasted. And, to the guy who complained about "forever chemicals", give me a break! Ireland doesn't allow those, or any other chemicals to be used on or near food animals or crops meant for human consumption (like we do in the US). This product has 2, count 'em, two ingredients; cream and salt. That's about as good as it gets, and the taste proves it. Oh, and corn is not a grass, and it hasn't been for a few thousand years. I have to admit, I only buy this awesome butter as a special treat, or when I'm baking or making holiday gifts. It used to be the only butter I'd buy...and if the price ever comes down a little, it will be that way again. After my Kerry Gold butter experience, I can never go back to the other stuff. It is literally golden in color, which means the cows got plenty of good grass versus the white stuff that passes as butter. Good quality which is better for you and oh so tasty!!!! I always look forward to my buttered toast and coffee in the mornings! We use it in everything from cooking to baking. Once you experience Kerry Gold, you'll never go back!
I mainly use butter on my grits or to cook a fried egg. In both cases this butter taste just fine. The main reason I chose this brand over all the others is the ingredients. It has none of those natural flavors which are suspected of causing memory loss. Oh and I also use it to bake brownies and cookies. Have not used it to bake yet but I am pretty sure I'll get no problems. As long as the manufacturer keeps the natural flavors (and artificial flavors) out of this product, I will buy it!
These are only partially grass fed cows. Multiple lawsuits have been brought against Kerrygold for their label which prompted the company to change details on their site. A label needs to say 100% grass fed to indicate as such.Personally, Kerrygold butter doesn't even taste that good anyway. Especially not for this somewhat premium price. The texture is very waxy the whole way through. As soon as you open a stick it starts to oxidize into that unpleasant looking "gold" color.I can't recommend a fully grass fed butter, but for around the same price Nellie's and Vital Farms taste much better. And if you don't care either way Amish Country is the best butter I've tried. It's so good and creamy you can eat it plain. Great for the keto or carnivore lifestyle.
Kerygold comes out on top in tests against leading grass fed cow butter for nutritional value. Nothing comes close to the taste. BJ's box is only 1.5 lbs vs The other big warehouse that starts with C at 2 lbs for one dollar more (3/22/23 direct comparison). The best deal is Southeastern grocer that starts with P when it's BOGO, and comes in under $10.00 for 2 lbs. Regardless where you buy or the price, Kerrygold is worth it.
