Whilst it is a very affordable instrument, it only has the same standard acoustic body as a 6 string acoustic and not the larger/deeper body of other acoustic bass guitars and therefore suffers a bit of tone and depth of resonance when played acoustically. It appears to be a bass scaled neck on a standard 6 string acoustic body. When played amplified it is not too bad and is quite sensitive to high end frequencies with its bridge piezo pickup. The standard action is also a bit high and will need adjusting at the bridge, hopefully easily lowered by removing shims, but this will be am individual's personal setting. It comes with an allen key for adjusting the neck truss rod, which was required on mine to flatten a slight bow. Haven’t plugged in as yet, but a great acoustic bass guitar. Great for my daughter to learn in without having to plug into an amp. Very happy with my purchase!

I haven't has the product long enough to confirm its performance or reliability. The appearance was fine and the neck need some adjustment. There was no lead with this electric guitar and this is the first of such products I've bought which did not come with this essential accessory.
The action was too high, adjusted the truss rod which was loose and shaved the saddle so that I had 2mm clearance at the 12th fret. The instrument is now very good to play and acoustically has reasonable tone. I have not played it through the amp as yet but it purchased as a practice instrument. It is very comfortable to play.
For the money this bass is a very good way to start learning. I tightened the truss rod a little to bring down the action down and added new A'dDario strings. This guitar now plays surprisingly well. Very pleased.

This bass is an all rounder, attach it to an amplifier and it keeps it's tone very well. Perfect for beginners to semi pro's. An advantage to the acoustic bass is the weight, instead of lugging a solid electric bass around this lightweight bass will sound just as good once plugged in. Easier on the shoulder, comfortable when sitting down and playing.

There is a point when making a decision ..we think of the price, as I did with this acoustic bass. I wanted something I could play without an amplifier ..and not invest too much on an instrument type I knew little about. It's more than I expected ...an option to plug and play with a nice warm tone ...and when I don't want to use the amplifier ..to play as gently as I feel the urge. Turned out ...not a problem with either. It's a great acoustic middle of the road bass for my purposes at a very good price.
