I received this for a review. John West produces a large variety of tinned tuna products in various packages, and although this tastes perfectly okay, I can't really see the need for this specific package. First of all, it's a plastic pot instead of a tin. Not very environmentally friendly. Secondly, it's obviously intended for single households who won't finish this 110g pot in one go. But the company also sells the no drain tuna steks in packs of 3x60g regular tins, that would surely be better for a small household - and also much cheaper per 100g.

Given this to review. We almost always buy tuna in 'spring water' (whatever that is, exactly), and so it is unsurprising that we tasted the oil in this product. I thought the tuna was a bit shreddy, and therefore more suited to tuna mayonnaise, etcetera, than to salade ni?oise, which is how we used it. Otherwise, no different from tinned John West. Of course, I can see that it is more convenient not to have to use a tin-opener at work, but in my case I retired in February 2000.

I was sent this to review. Its just tuna, nothing fancy, would go down well in a salad. I had tuna mayo. Im not keen on the packaging. We should be using less not more plastic. I dont think Ill be getting this type again.

My husband and kids love the tuna and its great that you can store it easily. The no drain is also an added bonus. However the packaging needs to be considered given the environmental impact. Would buy again if different packaging.
I was given this item free for review. I always buy the no drain Tuna from John West. I like the fact there will be no smelly water going down my sink. And the fact that the tuna itself is nice and tasty is a bonus. And just the right size for a sandwich..
Tried this as the M&S tinned tuna in sunflower oil was out of stock. We're all different and I just didn't like this - to me it had a funny taste and I won't be buying again. Will have to stock up on M&S tuna in sunflower oil when it's back in stock.
I was sent this Tuna to review. Firstly, I do not like the fact that its all plastic packaging. I normally pay a bit more for Tuna but eat it less frequently as a result. We buy the Albacore Tuna in a jar, which is so meaty and you get large flakes of tuna meat. To me, this John West Tuna has the consistency of cat food, its quite mushed up and just doesnt compare in terms of quality so I wont be buying again Im afraid.
I eat a lot of John West tuna and the only difference between this and the can of the same type is the packaging which is very handy. If you do not need the convenience of the packaging then stick with the cans.
Good tasty tuna, although I normally go for spring water or olive oil and would prefer that. It's convenient for work or travel as you don't need to drain it and can take as much as you want and put it back in the fridge (open cans can oxidise on the fridge). It says the foil can't be recycled yet but my council says it recycles foil. Sent to review.
This tuna was extremely handy to have in the fridge. Being in a container with lid, you could use what was needed and pop back in fridge , without having to transfer from tin to another container. The tuna itself was very succulent, not dry at all. Although this was sent to me for review, I would definitely purchase it myself in the future.
