Itβs a small portable speaker that has great sound compared to the speakers I had over the years. It even shuts off after a time if it is not being used.I call it fickle because, sometimes when I go to shut it down, I got hold the button/s longer than usual. My solution is to disconnect it from the Bluetooth mode and shutting down is as easy as turning it on.I have it mounted on a portable stand.

For the size of these speakers the sound of great . They are louder than expected. They are easier to lift than bigger, heavier speakers while providing the same powerful sound. The downside is the provided cables are not compatible with my mixer and I am having difficulty finding an adapter.

Although JBL claims 1000w peak, i doubt it. Its not that loud. However what I enjoy about JBL is the safety they put into their speakers. You'd have to be a caveman with no knowledge of audio in able to blow them up. I also purchased the Eon Compacts and those have safety measures as well. They really make sure you don't blow these up by putting in limiters and such to protect the drivers and the amps. The sound of the JBL is a great part of the product as it projects the mids and highs very accurately. The bass isn't bad but it is after all an 8 inch 2 way speaker. Highly recommend.
It's hard to go wrong with JBL sound quality, and these speakers are fine in that regard, but I had to return them because of a sleep feature that turns them off after 4 hours of no sound, which is a problem for our use. Per the support technician's email: The speaker goes to sleep if the input signal is below -40dB for 5 hours.If this feature had been printed anywhere in the description or user manual, I could've avoided the issue in my application, so that's my biggest disappointment, that it wasn't included anywhere in the documentation or specs.+5 stars for the JBL sound quality and workmanship, but -2 stars for the undocumented sleep feature.
I recd my second JBL IRX108BT on Saturday and also arrived 2 days early which was much appreciated! Once again the condition was perfect. It looks brand new. Plugged in the power, turned on Bluetooth and was streaming music from my iphone in less than a minute. Tested with my acoustic guitar and was totally impressed with the sound quality and power. Although I bought this as a monitor its perfect to use with my guitar and a mic. Thanks to the folks at Pro Audio! Two thumbs up!
I wasnt sure If such a small speaker would give so much power. I pleasantly suprised to see that the speaker was clear and loud for what I needed it for monitor for my vocals.
The IRX is possibly the most versatile speaker/amp. It can stand alone and play guitar and vocals. As a stage monitor it works great for both the floor, and on a pole for my drummer. It works with the mixer setiup as a speaker or monitor. The effects work well with the ability to add just a little bit of reverb without the mixer having to try to do it ALL. I am using a PRX ONE with 2 of the IRX for monitoring. I can run 1, 2, or all 3 depending on the event.
i made this purchase thinking that i was buying a bluetooth speaker, when in fact i bought a power speaker with bluetooth capability. i was under the impression that the speaker was portable, not realizing that it had no power supply or than being plugged into an electrical socket. as auch this speaker serve no purpose to me at all.
