Ibanez has revolutionised acoustic guitar design with their PA series, specifically engineered for the modern fingerstyle guitarist who demands both exceptional playability and innovative tonal possibilities. The asymmetrical jumbo body features a unique shape with increased surface area on the upper bout, generating rich low-end response whilst providing superior treble-side access for advanced tapping techniques. The specially contoured bridge and body cutaway serve as optimised tapping surfaces, allowing players to incorporate multiple percussive elements and dynamic variations into their performances. At the heart of the PA series lies a sophisticated multiple pickup system featuring contact pickups and stereo outputs, creating an extensive palette of sounds perfectly suited to fingerstyle nuances. The lightweight AP11 pickup maintains the guitar's natural acoustic character without inhibiting top wood vibrations, producing transparent tone with excellent presence and mid-range clarity that responds beautifully to effects processing. The T-bar under-saddle pickup captures natural piezo-style tones whilst reproducing palm hits with bass drum-like impact, complemented by the feedback-resistant Block contact pickup positioned on the neck block. Years of dedicated research and development culminated in Ibanez's groundbreaking X-M bracing system, featuring carefully scalloped X-bracing with strategically positioned tone and finger braces. This innovative internal architecture transmits string vibration more efficiently from bridge to body, significantly enhancing sound quality and projection. The X-M bracing creates remarkable responsiveness across a wide dynamic range whilst emphasising focused low-end frequencies that perfectly complement contemporary fingerstyle techniques.

I bought this guitar as a gift for the drummer of Family Mystic. My initial criteria eliminates most manufacturers, but it's simple, Is there a cutaway? Is there a volute? Is there a solid wood top/soundboard? This guitar is absolutely first rate, best in a class all its own, a great value!

I am comparing this to my 035c lowden. The build is excellent and the neck is lovely. The hardware seems top notch and tuning is dead reliable and fast. The combination of pick ups opens up possibilities that I have yet to explore through various amp and pedal set ups. Plugging into any amp gives very good acoustic sound although I have to be careful because feed back is always there. The action is very low so aids quick finger picked passages with no buzzes or dead spots. I got this to develop Mike Dawes type pieces so I am very ambitious but my skill level does not yet match my vision. This compared favourably with my Lowden and has much better amplified sound. If I never emulate Mr Dawes it is my limitations. The guitar is excellent and the supplied gig bag is ... MoreI am comparing this to my 035c lowden. The build is excellent and the neck is lovely. It is the only guitar I have played since I got it and it has a sweet acoustic voice which is well balanced but not as Complex as my Lowden. In all a bargain and a professional level bit of gear. Recommended even if you don't want to play percussive guitar because the amplified voice with three pick ups you can blend the sound exactly. 4 start because of my limited time but when I know it better maybe 5 stars

The 3 pickup options is amazing and the wide range of tones and beautifully sounds you can get is spot on. The percussive tonal sounds produced are lush .

I've had a lot of higher end guitars from Taylor's limited hot rod Namm show edition to keisel customs. This guitars quality is second to none I have had many acoustics all brands Taylor, Epiphone, Adamas, and ibanez and finger style to traditional acoustics this guitar's sound is amazing deep rich tone and nice wide neck for space on the fretboard for hybrid picking to spacious runs and finger picking. This guitar will NEVER leave the arsenal, well done Ibanez. Action was way too high saddle needed sanding was the only downside in my opinion but some like the higher action I'm a hybrid picking shredder so I like a lower action but someone like my dad would love to hammer away on those medium guage strings with more action than a John wick movie. Absolutely no fret buzz whatsoever absolutely love the guitar. Warning this guitar has a very WIDE neck almost like a traditional classical suits me fine because all the 8 strings and 7 strings I play it was one of the reasons I went with this model.
