Ibanez AR420 Electric Guitar Violin Sunburst

FOR THE MONEY, IBANEZ GUITARS CANNOT BE BEAT BAR NONE. TOP NOTCH MATERIALS, TOP NOTCH ELECTRONICS AND EXPERT WORKMANSHIP TELLS YOU THIS ! THEIR 12" RADIUS NECKS ARE A TAD WIDE FOR MY HANDS, SURE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM OFFER THEIR SEMI HOLLOWS WITH A 9.5" OR A 10 " RADIUS BUT OTHERWISE I CANNOT FAULT IBANEZ GUITARS ONE IOTA. THEY SIMPLY ARE THE BEST PRODUCT FOR THE BEST PRICE.

First of all the AR420 is a beautiful looking guitar with the abalone giving just a perfect amount of bling. The setup and action were great out of the box. The pickups are pretty good sounding alnicos and the tritone switching on each pickup give a wide variety of tones. The parallel sounds are a great alternative to the full humbucker and aren’t as thin as the split coils. The neck is very comfortable, fret ends are well finished and the hardware all seems fine. I find it very nice to play and easy to get the sounds I want. Design-wise the shape gives very good access to the upper frets but that also leads to the primary drawbacks, neither of which is an enormous issue for me but just annoying. That does make it susceptible to being knocked while playing with a resultant pickup selection change. Overall I am very happy with this guitar.

I had an Artist model back in the 80's and loved it so much I just had to see if this one was just as good and I wasn't disappointed. All I had to do was lower the action a bit and set the intonation and she's just perfect. It plays beautifully and has a VERY fast neck. The pick ups are just what they claim to be. Not very hot but lots of tone.I have a 1200.00 Godan and this one blows it away. I would put this up against any Les Paul any day of the week. For the money you cant beat it

Beautiful guitar very pleased with it. I had one before but I sold it. I regeted selling it and decided to buy another one. All ibanez guitars are very well made and don't disappoint

i reckon this is the best £500 guitar on the market. it looks like it costs double and better still feels like it costs double. out of the box this guitar has a flawless finish and was surprisingly well set up. the neck, frets and nut are spot on. the machine heads are smooth and geared just right. the vol and tone pots feel and work well. playing the guitar is impressive, not the fastest or slimmest neck but comfortable with very good access to uppermost frets. The sound is bright and modern with a good range of variation from the comprehensive electrics. The only criticisms of this guitar is that it is a little neck heavy and the pickups could do with a bit more output, but thats it. Amazing Amazing guitar

Grab this before people at Ibanez realize they're selling it cheap.The sound is firmly in the Les Paul territory, and has a lot of character. Sustain is great, and the guitar is very very beautiful. Amazingly well constructed, with very good quality all over.Bajaao sent me a good instrument. All I did was tightened the truss rod, and lightly polished a few of the higher frets, and it now plays great. Get it!

Cannot Believe the Quality for the Price

Having played for years since 1975, I have played my share of Gibson Les Paul's and SG's over the years. Frankly, I have never owned a Gibson that stayed in tune well, even after great work done by guitar folks that no what they are doing. The Ibanez Artist was introduced in the 70's and I had my eye on one going back to its introduction in that era after talking to folks that raved about its tone and quality. Funds being what they were back in the day, I never purchased one. Take it to today, I get talking to my guitar luthier who is one of the best and he raves about this model. Forget that it seems inexpensive or made in China (my biggest concern). Ibanez is doing insane quality control with this model. OK, what did I get. Incredible tone (nails every Les Paul sound, plus some). Beautiful looks and the darn thing stays in tune period! End of story. Pros and semi-pros know value when they play it. Forget the price point and buy this model. My only negative is that you need a good strap (similar to bass players faves) as the balance tends to be slightly top heavy. This is fixed by a good guitar strap.

Great guitar and service

Fantastic guitar for the money. If you don't want to lay out thousands for a Fender or Gibson, this is the way to go. Has enabled me to take my playing to another level. Really good clean tones. The setup from Scan is also top notch - they even set it up with my preferred string gauge.

What a gem!

It's amazing how a made in China Ibanez is 10 times better than my made in Indonesia Ibanez that costs almost twice as much! I've only red amazing reviews about this guitar so let me add another one to the list. Another thing I would add is, if you are thinking about buying this or any other guitar, buy it from DV247. They included a certificate to let me know that it was inspected and set up in the shop by their team! I just want to say a huge thank you to the whole team at DV247, you guys do an amazing job, keep up the good work!

a steal for a great guitar

This guitar can stand up to any other guitar that costs three or four times as much. I was looking at the AR 620 but went with this, not because of the cost but I wanted something less flashy. The neck is perfect, not too thin, not too fat. The frets are perfect for my smaller sized hands. Looks great, plays great. It is better than any Les Paul I have every played. I once played a magical Fender Strat, the one that everyone seems to be searching for, I have been looking for that magic ever since and have gone through a number of strats, PRS, etc... My search is over. This one had that magic feeling. I had $$$ in my pocket to get spend much more but went with this one for the feel, the sound and the looks. This had it all.
