Herbal Essences Potent Aloe & Mango Colour Protect Shampoo 400ml

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] I was lucky enough to trial this new shampoo and conditioner by Herb Essences as part of the BEAUTY/crew Review Crew. The shampoo has a beautiful fruity scent from the mango and aloe ingredients and this appealed to me immediately. The product lathers really well and I did a double shampoo before conditioning. My hair is usually oily after only a few days but I found my hair was left feeling immediately clean and then didn’t need washing again for 4-5 days after. I love that the product is sulphate free which is something I look for in haircare products. It is very refreshing however it does remind me of cheaper supermarket shampoos which have an overwhelming fruity smell. Although it doesn't leave your hair smelling like it afterwards, once I conditioned (with the matching conditioner) and dried my hair, the smell was gone. The shampoo foamed up quickly and glided through my hair very easily. It is a great budget friendly shampoo, with no nasties and 90% natural origin which put me at ease, knowing I was putting it through my heavily coloured hair. In love with this property

I was so excited to give this product a go as I could smell the fruity scent before I even opened the bottle.When it came to using the product the shampoo lathered really well, it became very soapy. Straight away my hair felt like so much thicker, which I'm assuming is the aloe. This was great because my hair using feels lifess and oily.The scent during the shower was so nice and refreshing not over powering at all.Once dry my hair looks so much shinier and feels so much stronger, it looks a lot cleaner and healthier. Like a cocktail at a resort pool bar!

As with most of Herbal Essences products, the smell of this one is divine! It is a creamy mango like a summer cocktail, but not sickly sweet like some of its rivals. The texture of the shampoo lathered well and I didn't need more than about 20cent piece sized amount to cover my whole head (I have long hair).It definitely felt clean but not tangly even before I used the conditioner and it was easy to rinse clean.I wash my hair every 2nd to 3rd day and this suited me perfectly.My hair is coloured, so protecting it from fading is important. This shampoo smells divine, it’s the first thing I noticed, it smells like a tropical holiday, like mango, pineapple and coconut. It has a lovely thick creamy consistency and it lathers up so well. At under $20.00 it’s great value for money as I don’t need to use a lot. I have very thick hair which I colour which is why I bought this shampoo for its claim that it protects coloured hair. I feel it does, that my colour lasts a lot longer and it’s really hydrating and nourishing. I love that it’s free from pats end and silicons as these can build up in hair and cause it to dull. Renewed Shine and health

My hair has been looking and smelling amazing after trialling this range. Being in lockdown my hair has been lacking shine and overall feels dull. This range has given it a new lease of life and I have felt since trialling it my hair feels renewed as the branding mentions.With this shampoo you don't need a whole lot as it lathers really well. I have been double shampooing and my hair feels very clean as a result. The scent of this range gives off summer, tropical vibes with the Mango.My hair overall feels like it's improved since using this range. My hair feels hydrated, soft and has it's shine back. My partner has even commented on how nice my hair smells. I have noticed my hair hasn't been getting as oily, and I am finding myself washing my hair twice week.

The smell was great, the frizz was not

The smell! First thing I did was smell it. I loved the mango smell. As I washed my hair with the shampoo, I imagined myself in a tropical forest, because if I actually was in a tropical forest I would have no doubt scared some animals. That smell! The shampoo lathered up nicely in my hair, however, it did take a bit to wash all the shampoo out. Still smelt great. I used thus product in conjunction with the conditioner which I will also be reviewing. My problem clearly is not the smell, it is the fact that I have curly hair.
