The awkward start was in that the soap dispenser didn't work on delivery. However, dishwasher was quickly replaced with a new fully working one. Works very well & quietly. Physical dimensions are not much different to its predecessor but so much bigger inside with many stacking options.

This dishwasher does everything we want. It's generally very quiet and gets everything super-clean. It's outstanding value for money, a third of the price we might have paid for a top of the range dishwasher. Late in the wash cycle it makes a sound like a light bulb exploding, but as far as I can tell that's normal (heat exchanger?). The only thing we have to watch out for is that the mid-level spray arm is a bit low and we have to stack the dinner plates on the bottom shelf facing backwards so they don't hit it.I'm not sure what we really got for paying the $199 installation fee from Appliances Online, as it seemed easy to instal and the delivery man might have done some of it for us anyway. Brought on line. Not what I was expecting. This not stainless steel. Its painted steel. There are few changes on the inside to what is showing in the sales photos. The racking is cheap looking and not as robust as the LG it is replacing.This one the cheaper options and it shows.Yet to run it. May take it back to because the mistake in the advertising.

I got this dishwasher because I was sick of washing dishes by hand. I was initially worried because I've previously had dishwashers that will not clean off gunk properly and you have to prewash everything, which I feel defeats the point of a dishwasher.This one, though, actually washes everything properly and quietly, I've been very happy with it. It's simple to use and effective.
We bought one of these when we moved into our new house. Wasn’t expecting much given the price, but it’s been great. It washes really well, and it leaves everything a lot drier than my old Westinghouse. Only complaint is you need to hold the power button down for a few seconds to get it to turn on, definitely no big deal, and we’re used to it now, so no big deal.
The unit has performed well. We only ever use it on the light setting which takes 90mins and only the soiled saucepans or trays need additional cleaning. Typical plates and utensils are clean and dry every time. Its quiet enough to put on when you retire to bed depending, we are only 10-15m away. The sliding tray and large format means we can fit a lot more in than our previous 12 setting unit. The rinse aid cannot be completely turned off however we fill with vinegar and very little amount gets used on minimum setting. Very simple to use, press on and press start if no settings need changing. We are very happy. The only improvement I can suggest is a water stop valve on hose in case of leakage/burst hose.
I read all the reviews in making my decision for a new dishwasher and the Haier Dishwasher stood out to me. I love the rack for the sharp knives as I have always been concerned with putting the sharp knives in the cutlery basket. If you place the pointy end down you put a hole in the basket, if you place the sharp side up you risk stabbing yourself. Brilliant design. Also I love that you can adjust the top basket to make room for large platters. I have used other dishwashers that do not accomodate large size dinner plates. Again Brilliant design. Also I love that the dishes come out DRY. I always had to finish off the dishes with a tea towel with my previous dishwasher. Overall very happy with the Haier Freestanding Dishwasher
Dropped off and installed today after previous washer died during warranty. ‘Thermo dry’ doesn’t dry sistema plastics at all ( dripping wet have to be dried manually) fastest cycle is a whopping 90 minutes for a light soil, racks are incredibly flimsy and awkward design on the bottom rack means fitting in large pans after a roast will be a pain. Better than a broken dishwasher I guess but very underwhelmed. If I had paid for the machine it would be going back. Hopefully if this one breaks parts will be available.
After a number of years of purchasing "top name" dishwashers (with prices to match) and finding they weren't living up to their reputations - I thought I'd try a different brand. The Haier generally provides more interior space and actually performs better than the "name brands". This is particularly evident in its drying ability - which is superior to almost all the other brands I have owned. I have now purchased a second Haier dishwasher for my rental property ( both are in the striking black colour - which really stands out in the kitchen) . For a well priced efficient dishwasher - the Haier is the way to go.
Washes well.Nice and Quiet.Racks are not that sturdy - bottom rack doesn't roll back in smoothly if you pul it right out and to rack has wide gaps near the fron which result in things falling thru if you're not careful how you stack it.
