Excellent RGB with one major problem

I can still use my computer with no problem other than getting blue screen and having to restart for once or twice after every complete shutdown. I have been only using these memories for less than a week, so I’m not sure if the problem would get worse or not. I will Definitely sent them back and get a replacement since I’m not gonna take the risk. Hopefully this is not a common issue. If they replace them with good memories, I would definitely give this product a 5 egg. Will update this review based on future experience.

Excellent product overall. Feels premium and looks great.

I outdoor recommend this for anyone works and looks great I will be purchasing more in the future. Also, If your purchasing this kit for an asus am4 motherboard to make use of aura sync update the boards bios as there was a problem previously with the software killing the ram. It's not G.skills or the products fault and has been fixed With the new bios. (Always update the bios) worked out of the box with my am4 board I'm not using aura sync.

All around good RAM. What I don't particularly understand and this could be my own deficiency in how RAM works are: * RAM is recognized by my motherboard as 2133Mhz. Maybe by design but why say its DDR4 3000? * Reached out to Mobo manufacturer and was able to help me with boosting my mobo to 2400Mhz using XMP 2.0 setting plus tweaking RAM. * My mobo is an intel i5-7600K powered mini-ITX from AsRock. I used cheap SK Hynix RAM that was recognized at 2400Mhz out of the box. My CPU is said to support 2400Mhz RAM but shouldnt I be able to over clock it? * Reached out to GSkill...crickets. Nice RGB memory for my z390 Aorus Xtreme and i9 9900k!

This memory came with my CPU in an i9 9900k 16GB (2 x 8GB set) combo for very slightly reduced price. Less than a week later they were on sale for about 30% off.... what eves.. they were sold out at the lower price anyways so I am glad I picked up another set when I bought the CPU and RAM combo! Because these were professionally paired up with the i9 9900k on Newegg for a combo deal you know they are rock solid performers with that specific CPU! Buy a second kit for 32GB if you can! These have some nice RGB with some smooth colors and color shifts. They have some sharp shark fin type heat sink accents that looks cool but watch your fingers installing/handling. The colors in the day light match my black and gray/silver build perfect. G. No issues getting 2933 on docp with Ryzen 7 1800x
11 December 2017

Was very worried at first that these sticks would not work with Ryzen, had to get them since the ones from the QVL weren't available. Asus ROG Strix x370f mobo, Ryzen 7 1800x running at 2933MHz and 3.8GHz respectively using mobo docp settings. - I have heard bad stories about the lighting failing or becoming corrupted from playing with the settings. I have left the lighting on the default rainbow settings and everything is going well so far.

Super RGB, Super Fast!
20 September 2018

- I want to take a moment to address this issue. The ram did not run at 3000MHz out of the box because I installed the ram in slots A1, and A2. My motherboard, nor the Ram info says this but it will not run at rated XMP/DOCP in these slots. When I switched them to B1, and B2 and simply applied the XMP/DOCP profile for 3000MHz in BIOS and it fired up with no other alterations and has been checked now for over 2 hours under heavy load for stability without a hickup. ( Moral of the story is Slap these in the farthest slots for Dual Channel first and you will not be disappointed. )

The RGB is nice, but when your RAM is dying you will lose your mind.
17 May 2019

When I buy RAM I want something reliable. From GPU you expect to die, not from your RAM. Random freezing. Took me a while to figure out it was the RAM as I though maybe the GPU/CPU OC caused all my issues. If I new adding RGB to RAM would add a layer of trouble to it, I would never get close to buying this RAM. There are a lot more review talking about faulty RAM in this series. The thing is your never really expect your RAM to malfunction. I hope the warranty is good. I am an international buyer. Will update when I get through this. At least one stick works.

I also noticed in the forums G. skill said they would have a fix out in a week that was a month ago and still nothing. So if you don't have an asus z270 its a gamble the rgb will work at all or continue to work. Buy the new corsair rgb its a little more expensive but actually works.

EDITED: I've owned this software for just about 90 days now. Effective today, I now have a bad stick with no RGB lighting functional (RAM still works as RAM, but no lights). Judging by posts in their official forums, this seems to be more common than it should be. Also, as noted in other reviews, the software is awful. The interface is ok, but the fact that the first beta version hit right at the end of Feb, and would constantly crash, and then the only other update was late March with the same results, and NOTHING since, speaks volumes about apparently where they feel they need to put any effort into. Hint, it's NOT the software. While it worked for three months, it was fine. I originally started out in one setting for about a month, went to a different setting, and was fine - because I didn't have to change anything or edit settings. Once in a while it would freeze and require a system restart and then would operate correctly again. So if you can get it where you want it, and can set and forget it, it might work great. Sadly, it seems the support is a little lacking on these, and I'd suggest passing or at least waiting until more solid development has been put into these.

XMP fail when I try to use XMP 3000

I am going to watch a few YT videos to see if there are tips on what I should try next. Three times and then blues to a BIOS blue screen saying it cannot boot with those settings. A posting in ROG forum suggested manually setting - Mem Frequency to 3000 - SOC voltage to 1.2 - DRAM voltage to 1.35 - Timings to 16.18.18.18.38 but with all 4 sticks inserted the system tried 3 times to boot but failed. QED: even though the GSKILL TRIDENTZ RAM sticks F4-3000C16D-16GTZR are on the ASUS ROG STRIX B-450 QVL, you cannot buy 2 kits and use them. AND in the future if you only buy 2 sticks now you can NEVER UPGRADE IN THE FUTURE. I don't know if this is the fault of the RAM or the MOTHERBOARD or both. So I lowered the rating to 1 egg.
