The phone looks almost exactly like the one my parents had when I was a little girl! The styling is great! Unfortunately, the quality isn’t as good because this is a less expensive reproduction. The reason I’m returning mine is because the dial mechanism is too fast and loud. It’s very different from the smooth dialing of the original phones. Overall it’s a fun item, it’s just not right for me.

Very happy with my phone, it's quite heavy and looks the part. Crystal clear voice quality, nice ring. Only 2 gripes: when using the rotary dial, a loud beep can be heard instead of the grinding noise down the receiver. My solution, don't have it to your ear whilst dialling. The other gripe is my mom saw mine, loved it, and ordered her own. When hers arrived it was a completely different colour. Mine is bright red, hers a dark, almost burgundy. So an inconsistent colour, a pain if you're ordering for a gift, a plus if you want an original!

Lovely retro cream push button GPO telephone. Just what I was looking for. Great price. Only one little niggle - push button numbers are arranged a little differently from my previous push button phone so I need to be a bit more careful. However this phone looks fantastic and is heavier than my last (much too light) push button phone. Delighted!

Ive been searching for a retro rotary dial phone for ages. Todays characterless landline phones look like old mobile phones sat in their charging cradles. We dont use the landline much these days so I wanted something to make a statement and when I saw the blue phone after we had decorated our lounge in duck egg blue I thought wow! Thats it. Sent for it Wednesday morning and it arrived Friday. Perfect, it looks so good and love the style, movement of the dial and has the classic bell ring. Good value too and it works a treat.
As described. More excited than was entirely necessary, when I plugged the phone in and heard that nostalgic ring. Kids were more inquisitive than I expected and was delighted to show them how to dial out. Not quite the same feel as the old dials (as my memory serves me) but assume that's more to do with how we get a line out these days. Looks great, good call volume and a clear line. Very pleased. Thank you
Very retro. It's a good quality product. This phone has an old fashioned ringer and dialing tone and the volume of the ringer is adequate. The call volume is ok too. If you like retro items and old fond memories, you'll love this phone.
I paid a premium to return this product as in my opinion it didnt match the photos. I did get other opinions to make sure I was not being fussy. I am not sure why all the other reviews have been so positive. The quality (or lack of) of the plastic is very different to the old school phones of which the photo gave homage to. I was disappointed. So disappointed I did not bother to unwrap the item. Took photos only to show items werent damaged on return.
Love my retro phone! It looks fab. Thank you to the staff at Robert Dyas in Colchester for ordering this for me instore for free home delivery. Top class service!
This is a lovely retro phone. It looks just the same as I remember the original phones. The dial turns easily and returns quicker than I remember the original dial did - but this is a good thing in today's world! The dial is of lighter construction than the old GPO dial and the 'end stop' is obviously a micro-switch that generates the 'tone' based on the position of the dial when your finger reaches the end stop. I guess time will tell how well this mechanism holds up, but my initial impressions are very positive.
very nice phone my wife wanted a simple pick up and use phone (she hates to many buttons) this phone is simple to use she loves the push to dial buttons myself i prefer a rotary dial but don`t mind compromising to keep her happy. i have always loved this style of phone since i had one back in the seventies. the only fault i can find with this phone is it doesn`t have a very loud ring owing to the fact i am hard of hearing i wish this phone had a louder ring. i want to find out if i can get a louder bell fitted in this phone this alteration will make this phone perfect. all in all a very good phone.
