I have another Godox speedlight (AA batteries) that has been a really great light. When it was time to add another, I didn’t hesitate to purchase this one. The rechargeable battery is an absolute rockstar, and the flash was a pleasure to work with. It was a slam-dunk five star product.Was. This is my 4th godox VING V860IIC TTL flash. I use 3 for wedding receptions and found I needed an additional one for either my 2nd photographer or for use on a 2nd camera. If you are using a flash with AA batteries, stop what you are doing and order this flash now! The battery life is amazing. I can get through 2 weddings without having to charge the battery (not recommended though). I purchased back up batteries and have never needed to use them. The flash is super easy to use. Especially when it comes to syncing multiple flashes. I highly recommend purchasing this flash. You won't be disappointed.

I bought this for my R7, and apparently due to the new hotshoe on the R7, R3 and R6ii, this flash will cause an Error 70 when you use single shot autofocus in low light. Unacceptable. Godox is aware of the issue but has not put any effort towards a fix. I would recommend waiting for the EL-5 by Canon which isn't that much more money, but it's not out yet.

This flash does it all and doesn't feed the AA battery beast! The Li-Ion battery pack is a game changer. I don't worry that I have charged enough AA batteries to get the jobs done for the day. I also use the TT600 that feeds the AA beast with lots of rechargeables, which gives me a good comparison between the V860IIC Li-on and a AA flash of equal power. The V860IIC in a soft box is excellent paired with the XT32. I get 1/256 power, which was needed when photographing an infant with big sister. All smiles, no blinks! The color temp is also consistent at the various power settings. It blends well with daylight regardless of the power setting. The Godox V860IIC rarely misfires. Every other flash brand uses a quick lock system. The flash also lacks weather sealing, which does not matter to me. The V860IIC is an excellent flash that is part of a great lighting system. After all my research into lighting, I decided to switch over to the Godox wireless system for all my lighting needs.
Already owning a couple of Godox products, I knew this flash would be a good option to replace my cheap Yongnuo flashes. I currently use it for macro work, but I'll be getting different uses out of it as time goes by. I love that it has a dedicated battery so I don't have to keep up with recharging AAs all the time. You really can't go wrong with Godox!
Item works as advertise but the best part is the include rechargeable Lithium Battery. No more AA batteries.Since I just got the flash the other day all I can say is the Flash battery lasts a very long time. I haven't had it long enough to drain the battery.

Nothing. And when I got a second one to use as an off camera slave, only one of them would act as a master and the other as a slave and NOT vice versa. I discovered through trial and error that this unit will not fire when set to full power. If I set it to +0.9 power output (or anything less), it works fine. Set it to full power; It will not fire. It doesn't matter how I set the power, either on the back of the flash, or through my Sekonic trigger. Luckily, I am within the B&H warranty period and am now sending it in for repair. I suspect it is a firmware bug.
I originally got a canon flash for my canon 6d mark ii and I hated it. It misfired constantly and the whole AA battery thing was awful. After hearing good reviews about this godox flash, I jumped on it. BEST FLASH EVER. Shot an entire 10 hour wedding with it and it never misfired ONCE. Best part - the rechargeable battery - after continuous shooting with flash on for about 4 hours, I still had plenty of battery life left and my photos came out beautifully lit. I would recommend this flash 100x over!
Really like the long battery life and fast recycle, thats about it. Actually, to be able to use this as a transmitter for my AD200 is the real reason I got this, and this function does work... But let me talk about the unit itself as a stand alone.The guide number is just like the canon 600exrt that I have. It much cheaper too. Build quality is good. Slightly heavier than the 600. the buttons are similar to canon. I dont like the whine noise (the zoom head) when you turn it on. People around you (5 feet or closer) in quiet situations will notice you and turn around. No bueno. Which means, when in low light and youre using the outer edge focusing area, it will not acquire focus. Ive had many people notice the laser like dots on peoples faces/shirts as Im trying to get focus and start looking around to see where this strange light beam is coming from (ruining candid shots). 600exrt is much more subdued. Never got busted)Third, the ETTL function is not good as Canon. Some erratic exposure happens (30% of the time on ceiling bounce, which is how I shoot mostly with on camera flash). Not way off, but bad enough where you may not be able to save the shot in RAW. It makes you fiddle with +- button constantly.So It should not replace the proper Canon flash. No surprise, since its so much cheaper. Dont get this thinking its a cheaper version of Canon 600exrt. It is not. But if you have godox flashes you want to radio control with an on camera unit, this is the only game in town.
