I've bought this set twice. The first time, I was impressed that they were professionally marked on both ends, on both sides. This was great because in a tool roll you knew which wrench it was. The new sets have removed all markings except for one spot on the handle. If that works for you, great, otherwise please beware. Any official photos you see may no longer be accurate. Per an Apex Tool Group representative, "We do not have the large marking on the open end any more... Change was made at the factory."

I will start by saying I am not a big gear wrench fan at all, with that said, this is a nice set of large combo wrenches. I needed these for a project I was doing and did not have wrenches this big. I am not the kind of person who will buy a cheap tool to hopefully get him buy for one use, if I'm buying a tool I want a nice quality one that will last me forever, even if I only plan on using it once. I was looking at another brand but I came across these on a good enough sale it was hard to turn down. I went ahead and took the chance and I have been pleased with these. No damage to tool, no rounding off on the tool or bolts/nuts, no damage to finish. These are of good quality and for the price I paid they were definitely worth it. The roll up pouch is actually pretty decent quality as well, heavy enough material and rings to be able to stretch it tight and hang up and it stays in tact. Not usually one to recommend these guys but for this product I say go for it, I cant really think of one bad thing I could say about this set

I bought these and the quality is absolutely JUNK! The chrome is wavey on all the wrenches and does not polish up. The stamping of the closed end is not centered on the wrench. Numbers are stamped on the open ends of some wrenches and not on others. The all-around quality is extremely poor. A couple of wrenches have random stamping dents in them. You can find better-looking wrenches from any other manufacturing! REDICULIOUS!

Got this set based on other Gearwrench tools I own that function great & chrome finish is flawless with crisp clean engraving that's easy to read. However all my others were manufactured in Taiwan, this particular set was manufactured in China. I had heard there was a difference in tools manufactured in these two countries but figured i'd give them a chance. The Chrome finish on them was pretty good as well as the engraving, however when they were all packaged together in one box for metric and one box for sae they got scuffed and scratched up pretty bad during transport from the factory. This was a minor concern, being tools their going to get scuffed & scratched probably worse than this during normal use. I compared these to other wrenches (same brand & other brands) I've used for years and my old wrenches fit fasteners much tighter even after years of use & abuse. Fitment on fasteners is Terrible! Way too much play before engaging a bolt or nut, felt like I'd grabbed the wrong size. The 1/2" wrench was by far the worst, 5/16, 9/16, 10, 13 & 14mm wasn't much better. Some sizes did fit great, the 7/16, 5/8, 11/16, 3/4 I tried fit fasteners very well but too hit or miss therefore I had to return, Very poor quality control.

The standard set starts with 1.5 inches (BIG) all the way down to 1/4 inch (tiny... nearly precision tool tiny). The metric is equally complete ranging from a huge 32mm all the way down to a tiny 6mm.Size matters, to be sure, but tough quality is even more important, especially in bigger sized wrenches. This is my first GEARWRENCH product, but after seeing these I'm looking forward to checking out their other tools. I admit I was skeptical about these wrenches. I read some reviews prior to receiving them and read some critical stuff. So yes, they came loose packed in boxes all rattling together. Upon inspection they looked really nice though. I put them to use for a few weeks and was won over. These are great wrenches. The fit and finish is supurb. The long pattern is strong and gives exceptional leverage. I have put them to the test and am satisfied they will seve me well for a long time. I recommend these wrenches for professional use.

I added a Snap-On set when I worked as motorcycle mechanic putting myself through school. Both sets are US made and work well. Much to my surprise is that this Chinese made GearWrench set matches the quality (nearly) of the more expensive Snap-On set. The GearWrench finish is smooth and the tolerances are tight. They are fairly thin forgings, which compare to the Snap-On. But the cost of this GearWrench set is a fraction of the Snap-On.
