Fujifilm X-H2 Mirrorless Camera (Body Only)
The Fujifilm X-H2 is a mirrorless camera with an APS-C sensor that has a very high resolution. This is because the sensor has 40.2 megapixels. You can use this to take very detailed photos and videos. The camera has a Pixel Shift Multi Shot function to take a 160-megapixel photo. With this function, the camera puts 20 images together into one. You can take sharp photos in dark locations with the 7-stop image stabilization. When you're photographing manually, you can use a slower shutter speed so more light comes in. You can also use the XH-2 to take smooth video recordings. The XH-2 records in 8K resolution with a 10-bit color space. By oversampling, you can use 8K frames to record extra sharp 4K frames with less white noise than regular 4K frames. The 10-bit color space shows 1 billion colors for a lifelike image.

While not perfect this camera is a milestone for Fujifilm and offers up one of the nicest images from a S35 mirrorless camera you can buy in this form factor. Pair it with the newer Fujifilm LM lenses to get the most out of it.In video, it lacks some exposure assist features found in other cameras at its price point. Mainly, lack of false color or even a waveform. Histogram and zebras are all you get. Bummer. But the sensor is a tiny beast and offers a 14-bit readout at 30fps shooting modes in video. CineD has done extensive testing and this camera and sensor beat out some FF cameras in video. ~14 stops of DR is achievable and 8-9 stops of latitude (!) before the image becomes unusable. Amazing showing from the X-H2s here. Amazing showing from the X-H2s here. Vast amount of codec options available: ProRes LT, 422, HQ. H264/H265 at several bitrates from 50 to 720Mbps. Awesome and useable film simulations for photo and video along with FLOG2.AF and tracking is good but not great like what Sony and Canon offer but with the latest firmware (v5.0) and newer Liner Motor lenses from Fuji things have improved immensely in my opinion and I've been very happy.IBIS is OK and this is where the camera suffers the most in my opinion and the main reason I took a star off the rating. It tends to be a bit too jerky in video when panning. Hopefully this could be improved with a firmware update or with the next iteration of this model.Photo quality has been great for wildlife and birds. No complaints there. Maybe look to photo centric review below for more in-depth feedback about photo performance.

I shot with aps-c cameras the first 10+ years in photography. Over those years I constantly heard that you had to move up to full frame if you wanted amazing images. When paired with the right lenses, it is almost impossible to tell the difference between this and any of my full frame bodies. The color science is just beautiful and the film simulations gives me a new aspect to my creativity. The RAW files are a dream to work with. 40 MP makes for the perfect image size to retouch and crop without losing too much in the process. The video options are great. 8k at this price, how could you pass on that? I have seen many YouTubers complain about the rolling shutter on this camera, but there will never be any scenarios that would require me to film while panning the camera back and forth like a mad man. The high bitrate modes and various codecs can accommodate everyone's taste and preferences. The video quality I have been getting out of the various modes has been astonishing and even rivals my full frame bodies. There are so many things to say great about this camera but for sake of time I will sum it all up with the fact that since purchasing the X-H2, I have fallen back in love with photography and have been enjoying every moment this camera is in my hands.

I do not ever take the time to write reviews, but I must on this one. If you only read one line, I have to say this is the single best cinema camera I have ever used. Now some may turn their nose up because its a mirrorless camera and say its not a real cinema camera. This makes me laugh. All those that say this, or I would never show up on a set with a mirrorless camera as a DP, are clearly not aware of this camera . I am an experienced Director of Photography. The last camera I used on a film was an all rigged out Canon C500 Mark ll, purchased from BH. AMAZING camera, without a doubt, I LOVED it. But I love this camera even more. Let me explain. Okay, it doesn't have as many bells and whistles as the C500 mark ll, it doesn't have Built in ND Filters, it doesn't have SDI out ports, but both of those issues were easily fixed with an HDMI to SDI adapter, and some good quality screw on ND filters..The Film Recipes in this camera are amazing. I LOVE the look of 80's films, and this gives it when done properly, the look of night filming (when lit properly and film recipes and settings are correct) is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Very little color grading needed in post. I spent a lot of time color grading the Canon c500 Log footage, it looked amazing ultimately, but this camera saves so much time and there is something inherent about the quality of the image that I have not seen in other cameras. I have used the Canon c500 Mark ll (as I said) , RED cameras, Sony a7slll, all GREAT cameras without a doubt, but none touch this one. The folks at Fujifilm are geniuses. For the longest time I was going to get. a Z cam, but I didnt like the fact they had a Sony sensor, nothing wrong with a Sony sensor, I just like the fact Fujifilm has their own and their own science behind it. Having said all this you still have to know what. you're doing with this camera, composition, movement, lighting. We also use Vintage Lenses with it. What else can I say.. you WILL have some slight workarounds ergonomically if you are used to fully decked out cinema cameras... But all doable, and for the savings in money, well worth it. I also use a Metabones speed booster with it and it works great. When I researched this thing, I am so glad I didnt listen to the industry people who snub their noses at mirrorless.. I will compare well shot footage with this thing to ANY cinema camera on the market... Kudos as well to BH for great service...well packaged, and answering questions....

I bought this new X-H2 from Cameranu shortly after its release, before which I was an amateur user of Fujifilm X-S10 camera, and I mostly use my camera to take photos for my girlfriend and my cats. From my experience in the last 3 months, I can easily feel the great improvement of this new-generation camera compared to my old model.40MP pixel is of course the selling point of X-H2, which not only makes 8K filming possible, but also allows you to reframe your photo more freely, offering more freedom for your art and story. Although there is a debate about the possible problem of high-ISO noise control of X-H2, to me it is much better than X-S10. When ISO=6400, X-H2 still shows a good performance of noise control and reduction, this is way much better than X-S10 ... MoreI bought this new X-H2 from Cameranu shortly after its release, before which I was an amateur user of Fujifilm X-S10 camera, and I mostly use my camera to take photos for my girlfriend and my cats. When ISO=6400, X-H2 still shows a good performance of noise control and reduction, this is way much better than X-S10 because X-S10 can only give an acceptable quality when ISO<=1600 at night. The upgraded 5th generation hardware really made a big difference on the focusing speed. I was unhappy when trying to take photos of my cats when using X-S10 because they moved so fast and the focus cannot always make it, however with X-H2 I feel much better with fast-shooting. X-H2 is newly functioned to detect cats/motorbikes/cars, etc and focus on them continuously. When I turn on this function, I hardly lose focus on my cats and other moving objective and it can give a very nice picture of them.I also liked the feeling when I take photo for my girlfriend with X-H2. When I use Sigma 56mm f1.4 lense, the color by the newly-added nostalgic negative simulation was really beautiful, and very suitable for autumn season. My girlfriend loves her photos by X-H2, too.I would not say too much about X-H2, but overall I don’t regret to upgrade from X-S10 to X-H2. If you have a proper budget and you don’t mind it is an APSC-camera, X-H2 would be a great option for you to consider.
I love that I can confidently take this camera into any situation and get workable files out of it for both photo and video. As a photo camera it's great. Compared to my R5 system, the autofocus is 75 percent of the way there, but I enjoy using it more, and I enjoy the work I make with it more. File quality is more than enough if the subject is worth photographing, except for maybe product photography, and really the limitations are more in the lens world, since this system has lenses from nearly 10 years ago. Pick the lenses carefully to tell the story you want to tell, and the camera can do it.For video, it blows canon away in my opinion. Good battery life, fantastic dynamic range. F-log2 is wonderful to grade, and gives me more flexibility than canon clog3. F-log2 is wonderful to grade, and gives me more flexibility than canon clog3. I love the open gate option for a different look as well. No overheating that I've experienced, and I've done 90 min takes on one battery. This camera makes it fun again. Canon is more perfect, but honestly It's almost boring in its perfection. I find myself looking for different photos with Fuji, and pushing a camera to the limits gets me different results. With that in mind, I love pushing this camera to its limits. It's capable in all the ways I need it to be and it makes me work for things I want to work for.So I have a full Canon system and a full fuji system now. Which one do I reach for? 10 percent of the time it's Canon (and that's for agency jobs where people are snobs about expensive looking systems to justify their investment, or sometimes for situations where I will absolutely not get a second chance, like weddings for other people who prefer nailing it over personality.) 90 percent of the time it's Fujifilm. If I could only shoot the things that I want to shoot, it would be Fujifilm 100 percent of the time.
If someone asks me what's the camera that can do everything, I'd recommend this Fujifilm X-H2S, of course, if the budget isn't an issue. I do photography and videography professionally and I always loved the color of Fujifilm, and once I got this camera from B&H I just fell in love with it instantaneously. This camera indeed has it all. Amazing autofocus (people who are complaining, adjust settings accordingly. This camera can even focus on eyes of kids running around when I do school photography). Gorgeous Fujifilm colors that haven't changed since Fujifilm X-T1, custom dials that allow me to save presets for video shooting at each frame rate / shutter speed settings up to 7 settings, FLOG2 for high-dynamic range footages such as shooting people when the sun is ... MoreIf someone asks me what's the camera that can do everything, I'd recommend this Fujifilm X-H2S, of course, if the budget isn't an issue. Gorgeous Fujifilm colors that haven't changed since Fujifilm X-T1, custom dials that allow me to save presets for video shooting at each frame rate / shutter speed settings up to 7 settings, FLOG2 for high-dynamic range footages such as shooting people when the sun is behind them...OK, it's not a high resolution camera like X-H2 but when I shoot real estate or architecture, I just know that it's got enough pixels for most occasions. Once a while I think of Full-Frame cameras but that's more of a rare occasion really. The great autofocus works for videography too. I shoot for restaurants and it's great to have each settings on each dial, such as 30fps + 1/60 seconds, 24fps + 1/48 seconds, 60fps + 1/120 seconds, all these... And this camera shoots 4K open gate, which is more than sufficient for most clients work I do.One thing that I was a little disappointed was that 1/240 seconds slow motion 4K isn't that great of quality. I see noises and I wish this was better, but I don't use it for my professional work so well, nothing is perfect really. This camera can do anything really, in my opinion. Now I love this camera so much, I am thinking of leaving the X-T cameras, it confuses me with totally different dial settings to go back and forth on job sites. I think either X-S20 or X-H2 will be a great companion camera for this.
Switching from Nikon D850 and Z5 to this. The D850 is still a good camera for the studio. Have lots of lenses to use still. Bought the adapter to use my Nikon lenses on the Fuji and they work great. AFS lenses are necessary unless you want to focus manually. The quality from the camera is amazing. I don't have any Fuji Lenses yet but will eventually start with the 8-16. You apparently have to make sure your lenses can support the resolution of the sensor. My Sigma Art lenses do great with the adapter. Very sharp.Yes the menus take some getting used to but that will come with time. The focus is quick, the camera quite and the film simulations amazing.I was going to get the xt5 but ended up with this. Very glad I did. Amazing viewfinder and feel in the hand. ... MoreSwitching from Nikon D850 and Z5 to this. The D850 is still a good camera for the studio. Have lots of lenses to use still. The whole idea was to own something hybrid, since I'm quite new to the camera world. This camera is absolutely gorgeous in what it provides. Granted, of course every camera nowadays is capable of providing awesome results, but what I think makes Fujifilm special for me (and why I picked this brand), is because of their film recipes.I've also been looking at content by a YouTuber by the name of serr and I've learned to experiment a bit more with the settings. Tweaking them can give you so much more flexibility.I love this camera in and out, the fact that it's so lightweight, comfortable to hold ergonomically speaking, the fact it came updated already, the display flexibility (especially if you intend on making videos with this camera). I will say, if you are mainly focused on photos, a display design like the one on the Nikon Z bodies might suit you better, but it all really depends.Setting up the product's warranty on the Fujifilm website was a breeze, and I haven't had a single issue since I received it.Lastly, I will say that I'm mesmerized with the gorgeous look on this camera. Again, very little background when it comes to cameras, but I'm extremely happy with this body and brand.
I had decided to switch from my Sony a6300, and I needed a camera that was great at both video and photography. I was particularly tired of the rolling shutter artifacts in the a6300 which are close to worst in the industry. Also, the Sony colors just feel cold and clinical to me. Not bad, but extremely boring. As a filmmaker, I am not on the full frame band wagon, though as a photographer, that would be nice. I considered APS-C and FF cameras of multiple brands (including Sony), and even toyed with the idea of the MFT GH6.After much research, Fuji X-H2S fills the role I needed perfectly. The resolution on this camera is not much greater than what I was already using, but I never felt I needed bigger, so I am not missing the 40mpx of the X-H2. But what I am ... MoreI had decided to switch from my Sony a6300, and I needed a camera that was great at both video and photography. But what I am gaining is a super fast sensor with negligible rolling shutter, F-Log2 gamma for 14 stops of dynamic range, and those beautiful Fuji colors! Also internal ProRes in three flavors (LT, 422, and HQ), with data rates up to 750mbps.Photos and video from this camera look great. Definitely a pleasure to edit and grade after using the clinical S-Log2. More on par with grading BRAW or V-Log (both of which I have used extensively), but with a bit of extra sauce, if you will. The Fuji X-Trans RAW requires a bit of extra care, as Lightroom does not interpret it as well as it could. Capture One seems better, but probably the best result can be had through DxO PureRaw2 plugged into Lightroom. It is a little extra work, but then again, the Fuji also generates gorgeous JPG images with its built in film sims, so RAW editing is not needed as often. The film sims are fully customizable, and you can find hundreds of recipes out there to give you almost any look that you could want. I only jump into the RAW when need the most granular control. In low light, the noise pattern is pleasing, compared to Sony or Nikon. The maximum ISO 12800 is perfectly useable with Neat Video or even Resolve Studio's built in NR applied. 6K open gate is beautiful. 4K is perfect up to 120fps (120p has a crop, but is sharp and looks great).Unfortunately, the HD 240p is unusably bad (awful stair-step aliasing) for anything more than a curiosity. Hopefully this can be fixed in firmware, but if not, I don't consider it a huge loss.Coming from Sony APS-C, I found the interface easy to get used to. The AF system more than adequate, if not amazing (better than the a6300). I tend to manual focus a lot anyway. The X-mount ecosystem is not as well supported as the Sony E-mount, so that is a consideration. But I looked at the lens options and decided there was enough available to suit my needs. There are also options (Fringer or Fotodiox) to convert EF lenses with full AF capability, so that expands the offerings quite a bit.All taken together, if you need a camera that does both video and photography well, you cannot go wrong with this camera.
After a lifetime with Nikon, currently D850, I was tempted to buy their beautiful Zf but couldn't reconcile myself to the relatively low pixel count. The more I read the more my head started to rule my heart, I didn't really need all those analogue controls, I shoot aperture priority and am not going to take my eye away from the viewfinder to make adjustments and so will set any camera to the way I use the D850. I know from reviews that Fujifilm have quality products and the X-T5 is an alternative to the Nikon Zf, so I had a good look and instead discovered the X-H2 which has a high resolution sensor and all the functionality of the D850 so I decided to take the plunge and hope I wasn't disappointed. First impressions were of an exceptionally well engineered product, design and execution flawless, as is the lens. I thought I wanted analogue controls as I dislike menus but for some reason Fuji menus seem more intuitive and the large number of buttons that can be user defined have made using this camera a familiar experience in a very short time. I have yet to find any difference in the resolution of this camera and the Nikon D850 and the lens is superb, it is lighter and easier to handle, it is very quiet, it has features that I have not seen before on a camera. Also, it has an aperture ring which I thought was a gimmick but I've been surprised how quickly I returned to using it, it's great. In short, the X-H2 has far exceeded my expectations and I now expect it to be my go-to camera on a daily basis.
