This amp is probably the future of recordings. The simulations and features are quite simply endless. The Fender Tone 3.0 app makes this guitar incredibly simple to operate along with giving great visuals on the presets. I love using it to create a set list of presets for a gig. Haven't been able to gig yet because of COVID-19 but I can imagine this amp being great to gig with for its incredible versatility and relatively light-weight. It is truly the best bang for your buck amp as you truly get all the sounds and versatility you need for the price of one amp. No need to go out and buy multiple amps to get all the sounds you want to hit. Keeping the amp up to date as much as possible allows it to unlock its full range. One feature I specifically like is the app, you can put pedals anywhere in the signal chain and allows you to hit all the tones needed. If one doesn't think there are enough pedals, it works great with actual pedals unlike quite a few other modeling amps that I have tried in the past. The headphone jack shocked me on how good the sound scales to the headphones. Even having half decent headphones, one could get just as good sound going through them as the speaker. The speaker is quite powerful and can suite most rooms and gigs, if you need it louder, no problem there is stereo XLR out which makes connecting to a PA system quite simple and handy. If you want an all around amp that you can do anything with and hit any tone, this is the amp to get, great price, great performance, incredible versatility.

Great! Sounds mono cos it is. Not as immersive as some stereo amps (but those too are practice amps). The cloud connection and wifi updates plus being able to download presents straight from your phone into the amp is so seamless. The bluetooth and app control works so well, you can even screen cast your phone to the tv and see your chain right there. Super loud, powerful rumble. Heck I even stuck my digital piano into this sucker and played the downloaded Top Gun Theme on Piano - you'd be surprised how much like a guitar a digital piano can sound through this! Have not even yet used this as an audio interface to record straight into a DAW - well worth the purchase, It's a pleasure to go back to each time - oh and the pedal, that will keep you playing for hours, so ... I ordered this amp in hopes that it would be a passable stand-in for some vintage clean Fender amps for my amatuer home recording, and maybe be a step up from my Boss Katana Mk2 50 for dragging over to a buddy's house for a jam night. In short, it checked both of those boxes. Now look, this amp dosen't perfectly match the tones and responsiveness of hundreds of dollars of vintage gear, but it does create a passable facsimile; and more improtantly, it does it with a very easy-to-use interface.I'm not that guy who can dial in a prefect tone with any rig by tweaking that midrange know just right. I set all of my amp knobs to noon, turn up my guitar's volume and tone all the way, and cross my fingers.Every time I sit down at this amp, I can pull together a tone ... More importantly, I can get tones that are fun, and make me want to play, and tweak the amp even more.Another feature that, in my experience, is unique to the Mustang GTX, is that the presets are actually useful. Every other modelling amp/processor that I've owned is full of high-gain, spaceship noises, and ambient echoes. This amp's presets are tones you might conceivably use to play a song, and it's much appreciated. The Mustang GTX features a good set of inputs/outputs and an effects loop. The pedal that comes with the GTX 100, is great, and easy-to-use.There are a coule of things that I don't love about the amp.FIrst, the control knobs/screen are at the back edge of the unit. This achieves the typical Fender look, but for an amp that requires you to make menu selections from the screen, it would make a lot more sense to have them at the front edge. If you put the amp under a desk, for example, forget about seeing the screen.Second, the only non-physical interface is via phone app. The Fender Tone app works great, but I hate cell phone-based musical gear. At least give me a desktop app. Finally, I think Fender has missed the mark on pricing. The 50 watt version is $369. The 100 watt version is $499. I don't need a 100 watt amp, and neither do a lot of bedroom guitarists, so I was going to buy the 50. Then, I realized that the 50 watt model doesn't include the pedal. Purchased separately, it's $99, making the 50 watt plus pedal about $30 cheaper than the 100 watt. I can't see who is buying the 50 watt unit. If it was $300, it'd be a must-buy for every beginner and bedroom bluesman in America. In summary, if you want to slap on a pair of headphones and play some great sounding rock and roll without needing to configure a million settings, or if you want to play at a jam night with friends and sound great, grab a Mustang GTX. It's fun.

ONLY ONE DOWN SIDE IS THAT YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD AND PRINT EXTENDED ENGLISH VERSION OF OWNER'S MANUAL, WHICH IS EASY TO FIND ON FENDER WEB SITE.AMPLIFIER IS WELL DESIGNED, AND SOUNDS GREAT. I AM STILL EXPLORING ALL THE FEATURES. PEDAL CABLE IS CHEAP MADE, BUT FENDER GIVES YOU STANDARD GUITAR CABLE AS ADDITION. SO I AM USING RED CABLE WHICH IS MORE SUBSTANTIAL AND HAS BETTER PERFOMNCE. I AM ALSO USING BLUETOOTH SENDER AND RECEIVER BETWEEN GUITAR AND AMP. BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY WITH COMPUTER OR THE PHONE GIVES MORE VALUE TO THIS AMP, WHEN YOU ARE NOT PLAYING YOUR GUITAR, YOU CAN ENJOY YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC ON IT ALSO. AMPLIFIER IS SOLID BUILT AND EXCEEDS MY EXPECTATIONS. GREAT PROTUCT FROM FENDER HOUSE.
Havent had much time to really dive into the depths with this amp. With that being said, tweaking the presets, swapping out pedals and amps is super easy. The Tone App works really well!!! I havent had any of the connection issues others have complained about. Connecting to WiFi and updating firmware was easy and quick. Bottom line if youre looking for an all in one Amp, this modeling amp is the place to be. Keep in mind it is a modeling amp so your close to original sounds for the vintage tube amps but not exact. This a very good way to discover your sound without spending thousands of $$$, or spending tons of time in music shop playing with pedals and amp combo. For $500 you get a stack of amps to play with and more pedals than a tap dancing centipede could use.... possibilities are endless. Keep in mind when adjusting everything the volume knobs inside the program need to be cranked, as well as the hardware volume knobs in order to unleash the 100 watts of house shaking glory!!!! Highly recommend dropping into a store and trying one out. Also Sweat Water was awesome they shipped to Alaska no additional fees and had it here in lessthan a week!!!! Thank you for that, I was very impressed!!!!
I can't believe I overlooked this amp when I was amp shopping. I purchased a Tonemaster Twin when I should have got this. Don't get me wrong the Tonemaster is a Great amp but, more expensive and, not near the features. I have owned several modeling amps throughout the years but, nothing like this Mustang. It's unbelievable what is in this amp and how easy it is to use. Great looks, light weight, celestion speaker, all the effects you could ever want, easy to setup and use, built in tuner, looper, it's all here. If you want to extract all the amp has to offer balance the gain and volume controls and you'll find you will be able to regulate the master volume much better for the output you want or need. Tone controls are your own preference and, they are very responsive. I play in a 4 PC Classic Rock/Country band with a drummer that knows the meaning of percussion and, there is no problem with enough power to hang with him or the rest of the band! I am very pleased with this amp and would recommend it to anyone beginner or pro.
Super happy with my GTX100. Ill preface this and say that I have a Twin Reverb, which is an incredible stage amp. But for any other purpose, its too heavy at 64 lbs,to just grab and take to practice. The GTX100 weighs a touch over 20lbs, and is a lot easier to move around. And for a solid state amp, this thing is really impressive with the tones you get. The included 7 button foot switch makes this 100 an absolute no brainer, over the other amps in the GTX line. The Fender Tone app, is intuitive, and easy to use. You can really sculpt your own tone, or just search and download other user presets. I bought this amp to replace a Spark 40, and its a massive upgrade. I was also able to find this Amp for $449 in January of 22, so I got a great deal too. Couldnt be happier.
Have a home studio. Many amps guitars and moniters including a 65 fender pro reverb bought new in 65 and a 63 jassmaster bought in 63. Both still work perfectly. Bought this after many online glowing reviews. My take. Over hyped and under reported bugs. Very bright, eq from mixer needed for pleasing sound. Full of bugs. Locks up, pedal looper losses recording after dub, bluetooth and tone app undependable and freeze especially with android phone. To many effects. Most of them usless unless your a young person who likes noise not music. Useless for stage work, To undependable. Run this amp into my 65 pro reverb using the jassmaster guitar. Incredible sound can be had while using twin reverb amp, # 1 preset, # 6, ambient or # 31, purple rain preset. Best 3 I've found. ... MoreHave a home studio. I was a huge fan of the Mustang III V.2 In fact I still have one till this day. I bought the Mustang GT the first day it was available at my local guitar center. I returned it within a week. The functions were so buggy and the sound was just not good. I was really let down with the GT. I had since moved on to other modelers including the Helix, Head Rush, Boss GT1000, Atomic amplifire and also Many tube amps. The GTX offers so much in a great looking package and sounds wonderful. I wouldn't say the presets sound that great out of the box but with a little tweaking you can get a really nice sound. It doesn't take much to get a sound you really enjoy. I find myself playing this more than any other amplifier I own and my Helix that I still currently have. However there are a few shortcomings. The only thing I would say about the amp it's self is that the dials and screen are on the backside of the amplifier which makes it hard to see unless you are standing right above the amp. However this does not bother me because I mainly use the Fender Tone app on my iPad which is wonderful! Fender has added a lot of effects that sounds great but are pretty basic. I still think they could add more. Again, maybe in future updates. The positive thing about the effects is that you can add more than just one of the same type. There are a few bugs with the app that I'm sure they will fix in the future updates. The 7 button foot switch is great but I wish they would've added a tap tempo so you can set the time based affects With your foot instead of having to walk over to the amp and tap with your finger. The amp is loud, it is lightweight, and it sounds great! Would easily be able to practice with a band or gig with. Overall this is the best modeling amp I've ever owned and trust me I've owned a lot and dare I say I enjoy the amp modeling better on this than my Helix, sorry line 6. If you want an excellent modeling, amp look no further!
My first reaction after plugging this amp in was one of dismay and anger. It sounded bad. I mean, really bad. I thought it was broken. But I kept at it and ultimately took it to band rehearsal last Saturday to give it a try. I had my trusty home-build Deluxe Reverb clone just in case I couldn't stomach the thing. So the next thing I learned about this amp was that it shines at band volume. It just came alive and I hated to stop playing when the session was over. It also turns out that it really needs to have the speaker broken in. The more you play it, the better it sounds. It's not fully broken in yet but man, it's got some great things happening here. The Twin Reverb preset is killer. So don't give up on it right away. Give it a bit of a chance and you will find ...
