I am a church musician in a worship band. Play every week. Love, love the tones out of this guy! These pups are awesome! Really like the coil-splitting humbucker at bridge position. Finish (Sienna burst) was darker than the image shown online - but still beautiful - no problem at all!Really only one issue - I guess I'm not a big fan of the "pop-in" tremolo. I have another older Strat with screw in tremolo (use little spring, etc) and it's great. With the pop-in it is very difficult to get it in/out and once inserted there is a little play/looseness. Working around that.

Guitar is exceptional. The tan pick guard with the sunburst is stunning and why I picked this color. Love how light this guitar is. I had to do some setup which I am not accustomed to when buying guitars at this price but they were minor and I always check them for intonation and action anyway. Turning three screws wasn't a chore. Already installed the Fender locking tuners and I think this guitar is going to be one of the favorites in my guitar herd. Just upgraded my guitar that was 20 years old and broken, and always wanted a Stratocaster, so why not go all-out? I mean, it's a top-of-the-line Fender, so what is there to say? Plays like a dream and sounds great. The splittable humbucker is perfect for getting all the sounds you could ever want. For nice fat warm lead stuff, leave it as a humbucker. If you want the classic strat "quack" sound in 2nd position, split it. Best of all worlds. And you still get the great blues neck single coil. Only thing I will say is I noticed that I was getting a bit sharp on the first three frets of the low E, but loosening up my grip fixed that, so could just be me!
HSS Tone:I wish I had tried a fat strat in the HSS layout years ago. I like a clean electric with a little crunch. I've never been a fan of the sound a single coil in the bridge position makes though and just kind of started avoiding it outside of the couple effect racks I set up in Ableton specifically for it. I played a Gibson LP Studio a lot for the tone but I really preferred everything else about the Stratocaster, the ergonomics, the scale length, the versatility the headstock layout. I also bounced around a lot of other manufacturers, from more comfortable LP designs to more modern strat layouts with humbuckers. Nothing quite had the stratocaster chime though. The quality of the AMProII series is amazing! The rolled fretboard feels smooth and my fingers glide effortlessly on that sweet neck. I actually like the tall narrow frets. The seem to feel good to me. But the best thing is that friggin sweet Dark Night color! Pictures don't do it justice! You have to see it in the light! The pups sound amazing and the push push knob is awesome and lets you get a tele type tone! Definitely recommend!
It feels amazing in my hands and my hands glide over the neck due to the smoothness. The rosewood fretboard is gorgeous and feels great! That paint is amazing though! It's hard to describe but pictures don't do it justice! Best part are the pickups and the push/push knob and the amazing tones you can get out of it! You can get a telecaster type sound that sounds really good off the pickups!
