Overall pretty good & I would recommend this productPros:-Simple appearance with plain wood background and bold colored shapes to not distract-Bright colored shapes: each shape is a different color-Shapes easy to take in and out using pegs-Small, thin assemblyCons:-Some of the shapes themselves aren't cut perfectly (noticeable once they are placed into the puzzle)-There is some rough, unpainted wood on the bottom side of the shapes where the peg is attached-Some of the paint is wearing through after only a week or so of use by my 9 month old banging the pieces and the floor & sticking them in his mouth. My child's play:-My little guy is 9 months old-He loves picking up the puzzle and dumping the pieces-He also takes them out one or two at a time and ... MoreOverall pretty good & I would recommend this productPros:-Simple appearance with plain wood background and bold colored shapes to not distract-Bright colored shapes: each shape is a different color-Shapes easy to take in and out using pegs-Small, thin assemblyCons:-Some of the shapes themselves aren't cut perfectly (noticeable once they are placed into the puzzle)-There is some rough, unpainted wood on the bottom side of the shapes where the peg is attached-Some of the paint is wearing through after only a week or so of use by my 9 month old banging the pieces and the floor & sticking them in his mouth. My child's play:-My little guy is 9 months old-He loves picking up the puzzle and dumping the pieces-He also takes them out one or two at a time and examines them

I love the colors on this puzzle. I like the knobs to hold on to. They strengthen the finger muscles and help the child hold on to the pieces better. I like the shapes. Very diverse. The only negative comment is that I wish the holes were deeper. When my 17 month old granddaughter puts the pieces back, they sometimes slide out because the holes aren't deep enough for the piece to stay put. And like her mom, she tends to be very OCD, and this frustrates her.

It's a perfect lightweight, educational toy that my sweetheart LOVES! He's 10 months old and doesn't know how to actually fit the shapes in their hole, but he picks them up easily with his cute pincer grasp and claps them like cymbals! :DLove watching him play with them. The tiny handles are suited for a baby exactly -- the little one happily chews on them like they're biscuits. Only down part to that being that I am seeing tiny tiny bits of the paint coming off on a couple of shapes.**** SCOPE FOR IMPROVEMENT: ****If the holes where the shapes fit has been colored with matching colors, it would have been EVEN MORE intuitive and promoted/fostered curiousty and problem solving.

This item was used during an assessment of my child's skills by specialists and doctors. The doctor recommended improvement in fine motor skills so when I found the toy I wanted to purchase.
