I have used it where using glue is difficult at best and little or no face is applied to the joint. I used it to add 1/8" strips to decorate a headboard. I used it to laminate 1/2" board together. Using glue on the 1/2" boards is difficult due to squeeze out or board movement.I have never tried to get a joint apart. Likely very hard if much assembly force is used or much time passes.

I used this Fastcap tape on LED light strips for a client three years ago and all of them are now falling off. Its ok around the shop for temporary stuff but its very poor for long term holding power. I have switched to 3M which is thicker and more expensive but I don't have to keep going out to the clients to repair stuff. I think Fastcap is very good at a sales pitch but not so much on quality of adhesive.

I use this tape as a temporary bond for my small routing projects.I used to use turners DS tape, held good but was expensive.Switched to Speed tape and it also comes in different widthswhich saves money. Keep everything clean and free of sawdust, does not leave any residue.

Decided to use the tape on a complicated picture frame/mat solution my son came up with. The tape advertises itself for temporary use, but also that it becomes permanent over time. Used foamcore as an "inside" of a frame, then mounted the picture to a piece of foamcore to raise it (aka shadow box). The tape worked flawlessly except for the top piece of foamcore, which stayed in place a week, then fell down. While this tape is a life (and hand) saver at the table saw, I woul not recommend it for permanent "glueing". But for the table saw, it's saved my hands so many times!
The backing paper is quite difficult to peel off. It works well except for that. This does not compare to the ones I've used before (from another manufacturer). Sometimes I get frustrated from the annoying chore of peeling the paper backing.

First the tape is thin and doesn't have enough body to hold thin rough resawn hardwood veneers to a piece of scrap plywood for cut out purposes. Resawn veneers are somewhat rough using a bandsaw with 3 tpi tooth pattern.The backing is somewhat difficult to remove,but the most aggravating thing that I found is it left a gummy gooey mess that was hard to remove on the back of my plastic templates. I had to use GOO GONE to remove it.I was sold this at a woodworking store and told how good it was and other reviews claimed to use it for this purpose. I threw it in my stockpile of various tapes hoping it will find a use someday. This stuff works good. I work in a professional cabinet shop so we have an industrial edgebander at our disposal most of the time but this is real handy for a few tasks that the machine doesn't do well. it is also a handy double stick tape for securing two items before securing with a permanent fastener without adding any substantial thickness to the finished piece. I think the strength gets better after some time has passed, we have a sample piece on the shop foreman's top shelf just to check it every now and then. No failures to report, stays put, does its job. Fastcap is a solid company with a lot of innovative ideas and this is the same product I would buy from a specialty store. the ease and shipping through Zoro make this very convienient.
This is semi permanent tape. Don't use it for temporary drilling or sawing projects. It's very strong for permanent adhesion.
The strong grip of this 2-sided tape allows me to use it in many applications beyond edge banding laminate. I'll use it instead of wood glue to quickly attach pieces together - no waiting for glue to cure! Also useful around the house for quick repairs - always keep a roll handy.
Wow that tape really stuck! I wish it didn't leave the residue of the adhesive. BUT on the tape it does say permanent adhesive. I first used it for getting a template on my work piece and using a flush trim bit in a router. Then prying off the template is not easy. But I am thankful the tape sticks as well as it does. Just be prepared to sand off the adhesive from your work piece.
