Great Hammer. Nice weight. Lovely handle. You hit things with it.

Nice weight, good claw action, although this is a hammer used by many carpenters, it is ideal for the diy er as it makes for easier and better positioning of the hammer for nailing accurately and reduces bending nails. I would thoroughly recommend it!

I bought this for a friend and his face said it all. It’s beautifully made and the way it’s weighted is lovely!

Excellent hammer, well made and finished. Great balance in the hand.
An Estwing claw hammer is a great tool. As I suspected the dog buried the one I was replacing with this new one under the spuds. I have used my original 16oz for more than 30 years I might have driven millions of nails home over the years. The new one is even more sturdy than the old one, BUT! The old 16oz weighs 21oz including the shaft. The new 16oz weighs in at 28 1/2 oz including the shaft. Is that why my arms are still skinny? I couldn't do a million nails with the new one. see picture comparison and the weight stamped on the heal of the old version. ps the varnish is off both now
This will do it's job and will show having a fine taste for tools. It looks like a work of art, and should last a lifetime when taken care of. A great gift for all occasions for that handy person in your life, Father, Son or Friend. it is a Very Impressive Basic Tool.
Great hammer absolutely loved it, then so did someone else...stolen on site by some scumbag after 4 days. I recommend buying cheap tools in future.

Over 50 years ago I borrowed my Dad's leather handled Estwing when I began work as a TV Sturdio carpenter building sets, scenery, props, and special effects. I returned it to him much later, but got one of my own. Then bought one for my son, then picked up another at a swap meet. Later bought two with rubber grip. And recently 3 more with leather handles and different weights. The Best. Eugene H. O'Neill Woodland Hills, California
This hammer is perfect for all types of jobs ! It looks great, feels great ( the leather handle can absorb sweat so that is good for framing !) and the claw works great ! The price is totally fair !
