I have been waiting for years for EL to come back with a great loose powder. I used Lucidity powder daily, and searched everywhere for a replacement after it was discontinued. Since then, I have been using Laura Mercier powder for years. I was SOOOO excited to receive this last week, and have been wearing it ever since. I REALLY love this powder, but ultimately I will have to see how long this jar lasts to determine whether or not I will continue to purchase!

I brought this in the translucent shade with the hope that it would just set the make up with a nice soft glow as explained. I didn't use much just a little product but the finish was still just dier, (again dry, powdery and an odd coulour) So for the first time ever I'm going to say I do not recomend an Estee lauder product!!!

This powder leaves skin smooth and radiant. It doesn't cake and the "Translucent Matte" leaves skin looking natural and well blended. I use a small soft kabuki brush with a little hand tapped powder to finally smooth out all edges and blend any makeup, concealer, blush, and shadows. I do believe the container should contain more product - customers would be more likely to purchase this powder. And maybe additional puffs could be available for purchase in the same coordinating size. It's all about customer convenience, satisfaction, and comparable product volume for the price - all for an excellent product.

For reference I wear 2C3 Fresco in DW. Undertones are true to description on this powder pink / beige. You will definitely need to be cool toned to pull off this color. I feel the color pulls more toward light then it does medium. It is extremely finely milled, finer than coty. I would consider this a setting/finishing powder with a skin like soft matte finish. I would be interested in trying it in a soft glow being a new launch I see they have released soft glow in medium so fingers crossed. This color would be perfect for winter on me I do feel I am missing little bit of depth and some slight neutral tones I feel like there needs to be a color in between light medium and medium in a neutral undertone. Love Lauder! However.......I am disappointed in their DW flattery loose powder. Not the product I expected from EL and not very flattering. Container and prod. amount is small vs. the price. Does come with a puff (very small! does anyone us it?), but still use my brush, making it difficult to get out. Does sit on face, but settles into fine lines if not really careful when applying. Finish kind of dull/just average - use it over DW foundation. Loved their Lucidity which gave a much nicer finish and took care of oily areas as well.

The mesh is like a mini springboard so if you press down too hard or quickly, it shoots the powder up into the air wasted. I bought the Translucent Soft Glow and you'd never know it. The "glow" is so subtle that I can't tell how much is actually there vs me knowing it's supposed to be and convincing myself that I see it. So I did a test: put this on half my face and the industry's #1 competitor (which doesn't have a glow version) on the other half of my face. There's absolutely zero difference! Next I compared the prices and EL's is OVER 3 TIMES as expensive! The quality doesn't justify that. I have purchased this powder in the translucent matte as well as the glow and they are both great, the formulas don't make the face look dry even when I add quite a bit, this formula is nothing like I've ever tried. I would imagine these powders working very well on dry and normal skins that want to use a powder. A slight downside for me is that the main caps require some muscle to click close after screwing them on.
I received this powder in the sheer glow format. I was a little confused by the packaging at first and accidentally broke the little plastic attachment that houses the tiny powder puff. That aside, this is the powder I've been dreaming of. I have tried everything on the market practically, as I have oily skin but hate the powdery look. The powder is ultra fine, and so light! The puff included is luxurious and a great size to prevent over application. It is a high refined product and I can't recommend it enough to use over doublewear to set everything in place without mattifying everything to the point you lose all skin dimension.
The powder is really good, but I know that I will not buy a new package again. You can find similar quality on the market for a much lower price. The packaging is not very practical, large, it closes with a pressure and the powder spills out, I prefer Laura Mercier's packaging (just on daily use for make up routine it annoys me a bit that it’s a bit messy and not handfull). The transculent shine version has micro particles of glitter, but it actually mattifies the skin well for a long time, and the glitter is hardly visible. It has a typical silicone finish so pores on the nose will be very visible, but the rest of the skin is ok.
