Flavour surprisingly ok. Found this sample of Essentials Black Tea Bags 100 Pack on the bottom shelf and it was priced at $1. 90. I was a bit surprised the tea bags are attatched in pairs and have to be very carefully torn along the line to ensure you don’t tear the bad and spring a leak and have tea everywhere. I am a huge tea drinker and always buy branded bags so I was a bit sceptical as these were pretty unattractive without the string and tags and so cheap. I drink my tea week and black, my first cup I thought the flavour was just ok, by the time I had have a few cups I was a bit used to the flavour and was surprised I did not mind it at all. These are ok and come at a bargain price. If I was on a tight budget I would buy these, however for me part of the ... MoreFlavour surprisingly ok. Not sure if i will purchase these in the future. Would rather pay a little more for tags and strings.

Normal as expected tea. This was a sample. I make tea for my daughter. She sees no difference between the taste of this tea and any other brand and described it as acceptable and as expected. She enjoyed the taste, with no complaints. I do allow the tea to steep for 4 minutes. There was no string for wringing out the bag, however I have adapted to pressing the bag with a spoon against the inside of the cup before the bag is discarded into the bin. I also see this as being better for the environment as the string and the tag are just extra waste and actually unnecessary as we can all adapt our practices with the less waste benefit. A Rainforest Alliance Certified product. Good value here $1. 90 for the 100 pack black tea. I would buy again as tea is tea. Best

Great value tea with not so great bags! This woolies responsibly farmed black tea hits the right price point for what it is. That is a very drinkable tea with annoying bags that you have to tear apart. That is nothing to complain about when it costs as little as $1. 90 for 100 annoying fragile teabags, or maybe it is when you realise you only have another 97 bags to c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y tear apart, then finally recover and claim back your sanity. The flavour is ok but I would not recommend this tea for people who like their tea weak as it doesnt hold much flavour, I'm a medium strength tea drinker and I normally pour the hot water, leave to sit for a minute and then stir and remove. I found the flavour ok with some adjustment to adapt to a new product. For a similar ... MoreGreat value tea with not so great bags! For a similar price or the same unit price when on special, I personally prefer Nerada Tea which is 100% packed and grown in Australia with a beautiful taste to my tea tasting buds. Definitely recommended to try at this price if you have a long lifetime and a life of patience!Enjoy!

A lovely drop of tea! We buy these tea bags regularly and really like them. We use them as teapot bags as there are no strings attached to them - these are just plain square teabags. I find that if you use two of these in a medium teapot of boiling water, it serves up to 3 people. This tea has a really nice mild, tea flavour and is very refreshing. Easy to open packaging and the tea smells lovely and fresh upon opening. Presented in a simple, blue box of 100 teabags for the very reasonable price of $1. 90. Rain forest alliance logo on the under side. Easy to find in store, located on the bottom shelf. Very happy with this product. These will do me!
It is not a strong cup of tea. We are big Tetley tea drinkers and never buy homebrand so trying this was always going to be interesting. It is not a strong cup of tea made with these but it is comparable to Tetley's strength. If you want stronger tea using these I suggest using two bags. Price wise you really cannot go wrong if you are on a budget, 100 bags for $1. 90. Bags are square and don't look particularly full but that didn't make any difference to our taste buds. Would we change our brand for these, the jury is out with that one because we love our branded tea bags. I am going to give the rest to my tea loving son to get his thoughts on them. He is a tea commissioner, drinks so many different favours and brands but as never tried the homebrand.
Meh. These were found on the bottom shelf in the tea and coffee aisle - had to look for themThe blue box should have stood out but they were stashed so low down that it did'n't. The packaging is basic and does set the tone of the product. The price of $1. 90 is cheap in comparison to other teabags and unfortunately it shows - I like my tea weak but these were more than weak. My boys needed more than one teabag to get their cup to the strength they like. I found that I had to leave the teabag to steep so long that my tea was not piping hot anymore. No string on the teabag made the bag more susceptible to breakingWould we buy them again? No - unfortunately not - I will be sticking to our branded favourite but thank you Bunch - I did always wonder if these would be ... MoreMeh. Tea-y. I love a cup of tea, but prefer loose leaf, so I was intrigued to see how this product would stack up. Found the box easily enough and at just under $2 for a box of 100, the price is very reasonable. Upon opening the box, a nice aroma hits the nose. In the cup with a teabag and boiling water and now I am waiting. In with some milk and after letting it all cool down, I took a first sip. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste, nice mild flavour that was easy to drink. My only negative is the bags have no string which can be a little messy in getting the bag out of the cup and into the bin. But for the price, I would recommend these to anyone who enjoys a plain black tea. Very handy to have in the cupboard.
Not the pick of the tea crop! I took these to Craft morning yesterday in my retirement village to get a cross section of responses. It was a bit like the Three Bears and their porridge. Too weak for some, too flavourless for others and just right for one !!!Overall: 1. Great price point for 100 teabags and rainforest alliance certified too2. Hate the two bags stuck together its a bit tricky to separate3. Hate fishing them out of the cup without a string and tag to assist4. Not enough strength/flavourThe one lady that decided they were just right happily took the rest of the box home and will purchase again. I prefer leaf tea, I'm looking at you French Earl Grey, and my trusty teapot so it won't be a repeat buy for me.
A Fairly Good Tasting Black Tea! Until I was offered this tea to sample I was not aware of it. It was hidden on the bottom shelf of my WW’s supermarket. Although the box the tea bags come in looks very basic, the bright blue does catch the eye easily. The information on the box provides the necessary information about the product clearly and simply. The tea does taste good, perhaps a little weaker than other teas on the market. When honey and/or milk is added to the tea it is impossible to differentiate this tea from the branded teas. This tea is definitely excellent value for money. There is 100 tea bags in the box at a cost of $1. 90. Half the cost of my usual tea. The downside of this product is it is a little awkward to handle the tea bags without the string ... MoreA Fairly Good Tasting Black Tea! Until I was offered this tea to sample I was not aware of it. I guess these tea bags are better suited for pot tea. Overall, I don’t mind this tea, but will continue to purchase my usual tea. I appreciate having the opportunity to try this tea.
Not tea-rrific at all! These were okay, but I wasn’t really a fan because I like a strong cup of tea so they just didn’t hit the spot. If you are on a budget they are adequate if you want a cup of tea, but I do prefer paying a little bit extra to get quality teabags as I do feel like these were filled with not the best quality tea leaves. I ended up giving the majority of these tea bags away as I knew it would be a waste on me as I wouldn’t drink them, but the person I gave it to was very pleased with them as she is doing it tough at the moment and often asks me for a tea bag or two from time to time. I appreciate that they were a square teabag and that could be placed straight to the compost bin after use, and also good that the packaging is recyclable and they are ... MoreNot tea-rrific at all! I don’t think I will buy these again. I used to buy them a lot when I was younger and on a tighter budget and to be honest with you, they really have not changed in flavour much over the years. That is why I’m not in a rush to buy them again. I suppose one because it reminds me of my student days when I was broke. But also I don’t need to buy them when there are others out there, I prefer much more flavour. I do think they are a decent price, and I am grateful that I have got them as a sample and was able to pass them on to somebody who appreciated them a lot more than I did, but I think I might just keep away from these in the future unless every single other variety teabag was missing from the supermarket. ♀️
