Epiphone Wilshire P-90S Electric Guitar – Cherry
The Wilshire was one of Epiphone's first original solid body designs, and ever since its introduction in 1959, it has proven to be one of Epiphone's most successful designs. The Epiphone Wilshire P-90S, finished in Cherry, returns to its roots, with many features faithful to its original '50s design, including the symmetrical double-cutaway mahogany body with dual PRO P-90 Soapbar pickups, three-a-side reduced sized Kalamazoo headstock with Epiphone Bikini badge and ivory button Epiphone Deluxe tuning machines, and a butterfly tortoise shell pickguard with foil E logo. The Wilshire P-90 comes equipped with a glued-in mahogany neck with a medium C profile, Indian laurel fretboard with 12" radius and 22 medium jumbo frets, 2 volume and 2 tone controls and an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece.

Finally!! After many many disappointing attempts at buying guitars on-line, AMS completely blew me away with the new Gibson Inspired Epiphone Wilshire! I’ve owned three 09’ Gibson Custom shop Epiphone Wilshires, great guitars, but 3k price tag. The new $449 Epiphone Wilshire hold its own! I’m blown away how nice these Epiphone are right out the box. And then there is AMS, thank thank you finally sending me a brand new unopened Wilshire. I also received it ahead of schedule. The entire experience has been wonderful! AMS, you have a customer for life. Thank You

Been wanting one of these for awhile. Decided to to take a chance, since I don't normally buy Chinese gear. This thing plays great and sounds good too. The only thing which could be better is the fret dressing. The edges are quite bad , but nothing you can't fix with a file and a bit of time. I don't notice it so much when I am playing , but when you run your hand up the sides of the neck you can feel it. Other than that, beautiful guitar that feels good. AMS is pretty much the only place you can find one. They shipped it extremely fast....for free. Pretty happy all round except the fret edges , and that is still not keeping me from playing it.

I can’t find anything wrong with this guitar. The action could be a little lower, but it is highly playable straight out of the box. All the notes are there without any buzz and above the 12th fret sounds right to my ears. Mine does not have sharp frets and the finish is flawless. Tuning stability is as good as guitars I’ve owned at three times the price. In fact the price is so good I’m thinking of greedily buying the ebony model too. I play mine through a jcm800 studio with a couple of stacked ts9 tube screamers and an 847a vox wah and hours pass like minutes. In fact I’m off to play it now. Get one before I buy another.

I love the fact that this guitar is an Epiphone original and not just a cheaper version of a Gibson model. First, AMS was fast and easy to deal with. It was my 1st time ordering from them. Guitar shipped same day I ordered and arrived 2 days after, packed good and in great shape. The guitar itself is even more beautiful in person then it shows online. When I first seen these advertised (Coronet, Wilshire, Crestwood), my 1st thought was 'man those look awesome' and I NEED one - simply put....it's amazing.Plugged this beauty in and it sounds as good as it looks. Those P90's are great. Frets are perfect, and the setup is great right out of the box. I look forward to playing this for years to come !!!!
I've owned my ebony black one for about a month now. It's a well made, light weight, simple design that plays and sounds exactly like a P-90 equipped double cut electric guitar should! I'm happy to see that Gibson is putting out more products that are unique to the Epiphone brand, and this is a good one.
This is a great guitar. The P90s growl. The fret work is great. I am amazed that this guitar handles and plays better than a lot of guitars 10X the price. I use this for classic rock and blues. The fit and finish is really good.I'm surprised at this as a lot of reviews said otherwise.
I purchased both the red and the black Wilshire. As per a number of complaints that I saw on many reviews, the action on both guitars was set very high. After giving both instruments a thorough set-up they play perfectly. At least, on the two that I purchased, fret dressing was very good. No jagged edges etc...The vintage style tuners work very well and keep the guitars tuned without any slippage. These tuners work really great and there are no problems with them. With that said, I personally just didn't care for the vintage style and swapped them out for some Wilkinson 18:1 Empire tuners. BIG difference in tone. More midrange and definitely more noticeable sustain! I guessing because of the added weight of these tuners. They have been used on numerous recording ... The Wilshire fits perfectly in it.
These guitars are very good....I would advise they need to be properly adjusted by a guitar luthier professional to get them up to professional level! Neck and frets need to be adjusted depending on string gauge...and be aware this is a shorter scale meaning the strings feel looser than normal. Tonaly they are excellent! P90s are very powerful sounding and seem to be great at NOT squealing at high volumes!! This is a solid mahogany body not plywood!! Better than most Epiphone guitars and certainly a unique Epiphone design. I own 3!!!
Been playing for 40+ years and have Fenders and Gibsons and all sorts. Can genuinely say that this is incredible guitar. And not just 'for the money'. Fabulous finish, the P90s are awesome and the neck is a dream to play with the short scale. It's an absolute go to guitar for around the house and recording. The fingerboard is superb. I wonder if they all have figured grain on the neck or did I just get lucky. Above all it looks and sound amazing and is easy to play. ( Can't give a mark for durability as its only a few weeks old! ). Highly recommended if there are any left.
Great affordable reissue ,Mine is super light , great feeling neck, great pickups and electronics. They will need fret edge work , action , intonation, and Better fresh strings A good set -up like any import guitar. Mine was an open box deal that I could not pass up. FUN guitars to own and play,
