Overall:I'm a touring musician full-time and have and been through maybe around 50 Gibson Les Pauls. I got this guitar out of curiosity because I wanted to try a 7-string out with a body shape I know and love. That being said, I'm completely impressed by the quality of this guitar. Epiphone has come a LONG LONG way and with the help of Matt Heafy, made an extraordinary guitar. This is my only Epiphone that I'm keeping in my collection. The neck feels solid and shreddy. The looks are to die for. The ONLY thing I'd change are the PUPS because I'm not a fan of active but that is very objective. They are great PUPS just not for me personally. Overall, I am very satisfied with this guitar and the price point. It feels easily like a $2k-2.2k Gibson.

Overall:Ok so I was a big fan of the first custom shop Matt dropped like forever ago but I had my I guess opinions about it. Like how thick the neck was and just the holy crap of weight the thing was. So I was scared about getting this one at first when it was the prototype. Well that changed when I watched a video on YouTube with Matt explaining it had a thinner neck. Well I just got the guitar in today and all I have to say…..BUY IT. You will not regret it. It plays absolutely insane. Feels so well built too. Very very impressed with this guitar. Job well done Matt & Epiphone. Job well done.

I've been missing a guitar I can play my favorite metal songs and metal styles with and this one was nearly a no-brainer for me, within a certain budget of course. This is my 4th Epiphone and by far the best one, quality and feature wise. The pickup voicings are exactly what I was looking for, and I love the extra features of the electronics. I highly recommend performing a setup though, as it could use some fret polishing(and maybe some leveling, YMMV). No fret sprouts, nicely slim neck, but not too slim like an Ibanez or Jackson can be. This is a top quality looking guitar with a beautiful finish that plays and sounds great once properly setup. Like most mass produced guitars you have to expect to do some work if you want the best out of it, it played well out of the box but really benefited from a proper fret job.
I bought this guitar because I enjoy playing metal, but it's also a great guitar for clean tones. The push/pull knobs offer a lot of range in tone regardless if you have distortion or clean tones.Like others note, there is plastic on the pickups so you'll have to tolerate it until you restring it.

I have tried to play in on stage but that lasted two songs; the guitar was shipped completely without any set up and a bridge that needs to be replace. I bought it before Thanksgiving, and given the holiday and family visits...I didn't realize just have bad of shape this thing is in. Beautiful looking guitar but unless you are ready to throw another $120-150 into after you take it out of the box, don't do it. Look at Sweetwater or your local dealer. Couldn't be more disappointed with the delivery...and in a position to continue to throw money at it -- but "wow" was this ... My gear was wonderful, however I just cant give it 5 stars, because of a couple of reasons1) the pickups were wrapped in a clear cover which was impossible to get off without disassembling amd removing the pickups entirely, which was ridiculous.2) paid a thousand pounds for a guitar, but a battery couldn't have been provided that is required for the pickups to actually work? Just seems that would have been good to include after spending so much money.They seem lile small things, but in genuinely pure in a bad mood when I received it (which should have been the opposite)
Lots of high-quality features for a relatively modest price point. The slim neck is very un-Les-Paul-like, but feels great makes for a very playable guitar!The Fishman fluence pickups and controls offer great variety, perfect for high-gain tones.Overall a great guitar, looks awesome and sounds great!
I havent bought a guitar sight unseen in years due to getting burned however, make no mistake you will not regret the decision buying this one. Electronics are incredible and playability is excellent. Have a PRS and Schecter and this compliments my collection like no other. I was initially surprised by the neck shape as the typical "baseball bat" is non-existent but rather a flatter D-shape profile. Not quite Ibanez Wizard like but still somewhat thinner than i was expecting. Sound wise I've been able to go from Santana to RATM to Metallica to Ghost without changing the settings on my amp. The differences in the bridge pup when switching from the active to passive settings are somewhat subtle when you first start messing around but if you are paying attention, you ...
