Electro-Voice ZLX 12BT Active 12" Speaker With Bluetooth

I purchased this speaker to pair it with an Roland V-Drum kit that we got him for Christmas. I was originally going to purchase the $500.00 Roland V-Drum Speaker and I am very glad that I did not. The EV Speaker sounds amazing and is packed with nice features! It boasts 2 Inputs, 1 Output PLUS Bluetooth which is downright amazing. The Roland V-Drum kit sounds great playing through these speakers as the sound is rich and powerful. Strong highs and deep rumbly lows play beautifully out of this bad boy! I have it laying on it’s side right behind my son and it’s like his monitor wedge. Don’t look at anything else and push buy on this one already! Amazing all round speaker

I grabbed a pair of these from my local Sam Ash. Using these as mains for practice with my band. We have two guitars, bass, drums, and vocals and no issues hearing anyone. These EVs sound better and are louder than the dual 12 inch 3 way seismic audio floor speakers they're replacing. They were super simple to set up. Power cord for each speaker, one XLR cable from the mixer board to one speaker, one XLR from one speaker to the other, and that's it. Simple, versatile, powerful, all around a great workhorse speaker.

Great Sound but ...

These speakers sound great but it does take a little time to dial them in. Instructions could be clearer. Takes you through the menu with minimal explanation of each parameter. Then you’ve got three ways to boist volume per speaker (not counting any external mixer you probably use.). So creating a symbiotic relationship between these is a bit tricky at first. Granted, I’ve only had these bad boys a couple of weeks but have been so impressed with the sound that I’m willing to go the extra mile to tweak levels. The package also included two speaker stands, speaker covers (so needed), xlr cables and a stand bag. Excellent value for $900 and change. All otems were better quality than standard retail gear. Great Speaker

Great speakers at a reasonable price, been using ZLX 12Ps for several years with my band for foh, floor monitors/side fills with out no problems. Just added 2 more with Bluetooth. Haven't tried the function, could've lived without it for my purposes. Sorry they don't offer them up without it at the old price. Tried the QSC CP8 (1000 watts) to save on space & weight, they couldn't touch the EVs in volume so I returned that and went for the EVs. Our drummer's using one for a vocal monitor, sent from our board in one channel plus running a drum module in the second channel and is very happy with the result. Tough to beat these speakers and the price.

Great and easy to use speakers

I bought three 12s, two for mains and one for monitor for my acoustic loop set up. Also paired it with the 12 inch sub. They sound great and can get a good amount of volume. Cant wait to use it outside for some upcoming shows. Ive played alot through QSC's and these are the most comparable i could find for a lower budget speakers system. Would buy again,

Great speakers at great price

I purchased 2 of these EV ZLX-12BT speakers to use with an EV ZKX-15 subwoofer as my PA system. They sound amazing, not a single complaint from me. The system sounds great together and has more than enough power for my needs. Bought some other items through this site and was extremely happy with everything so I found these speakers I was about to buy elsewhere only without the speaker stands, covers, and cables for the same price that they had the speakers and extras for here. Clearly not even a choice, had to buy here with the well over $100 of accessories with at no extra cost. Similarly to my previous purchase from B&H the speakers came quickly and were packaged well even though we are in a pandemic right now and most places are going slow with orders. I was very pleased with the purchasing experience. The salesman demonstrated patience and a wide knowledge of the different speakers and manufacturers. His advice steered me to the exact speaker that completely fulfilled my needs. He accommodated my request to hear a variety of different songs, on different speakers, at different volume levels. I'm glad I chose Sam Ash for the purchase. I happy for the purchase experience the salesman provided. I very pleased with the I bought.

I would definitely recommend these speakers

I purchased these speakers to be used as the main PA for my daughter who is a solo artist. Wow was I impressed with the quality sound and volume you are able to achieve with these speakers. The clarity of the vocals through these speakers take second to no other speaker in this price range. The mids and highs through these speakers are awesome. However, it does lack the low end. I also use a 300w keyboard amp with a 15 in woofer on stage to fill that void. I highly recommend these speakers for solo or duet artists as a main PA. A subwoofer might also be needed depending on the sound you are looking for. I would not recommend this as a main PA for any bands. However, I think they would work well as monitors. They are lightweight and easy to move around.

More than expected

When I bought these I figured there were limitations on what size room it would cover. I now know that with it filling a gymnasium with "clarity" that these cabs are more, a lot more, than I expected. My concern was that " Are they powerful enough"? The answer is YES they are. The volume on these cabs are set on 3-1/2, just warming up with a gym filled with 150 people. The music is clear and loud. I did a lot of research on powered cabs before my decision to purchase. I am a old school musician/sound tech as all of my equipment is powered amps with mixer and passive speakers. This is my first set of powered speakers and am super happy with these cabs. Would highly recommend!
