Others might notice the absence of the more usual awful and annoying traits and consider that a big improvement.Where they really standout is music. I bought these speakers for use as bedroom Bluetooth speakers. I like that they support a decent Bluetooth codec (aptX HD) and include a remote control at this price point. Out of the box they sounded a little flat to me so I applied an EQ curve using my phones adaptive sound, eight band graphic equalizer and after a boost to the bass and treble (with the speaker Bass and Treble dials set to 0) the speakers came alive for me. I noticed a definite improvement in the sound and with the subwoofer connected I no longer need to limit these speakers to a near-field configuration.I really like the simplicity and reliability of these speakers as a Bluetooth solution. They have good range, always connect promptly and it took all of five minutes to open the box and set them up. All that was needed for surprisingly nice stereo imaging was an average Android phone, the phones built in equalizer and some favorite WAV files stored on the phones MicroSD card. These speakers are highly recommended. My only quibble is that the remote feels a little cheap, but works fine.

Full disclosure, I bought this to plug into my turntable and listen to a group that has very deep primal drums but piercing female vocals. (Check out Heilung - Anoana for what I mean)My main issue with these lies is that the clarity of anything that is not bass. I ended up returning these and just going for some passive Klipsch speakers.I would only recommend these if you want an upgrade to some computer desk speakers given to you from an office, school, or computer speakers from 15 years ago but want bass instead of clarity.
