Need to test the air purifier after a takeaway, we eat pizza in the living room on a Sunday if it can eliminate the pizza smells than this feature really is something special.There is a nice screen on the device which displays quite a lot of information regarding air quality levels, all the different types of air pollutants, I have set mine to show the room temperature which again is neat feature as it eliminates the need for a room thermostat.I bought the original Dyson hot and cold fan (non air purifier) and this latest hot and cold purifier absolutely dwarfs it, this new device is massive compared to it, and I like it!!! as this oversized design really does give it that wow factor in your room; especially in a minimal featured designed house.These are some of the drawbacks in my opinion that Dyson can possibly improve on in future designs: Dyson needs to introduce a removable power cable, I always go overboard with cable management (securing and hiding all my cables) I then can't move my Dysons fans anywhere in the house without untying everything, also with this new device you have the ability to place the fan in the middle of the room and oscillate 350 however the cable is too short to reach the nearest wall, both of these problems could be eliminated if you could buy your own removable cords in any size making this fan truly mobile.I also feel that Dyson should have added a clock to this fans information screen as well as the app, on the app you can set up a time schedule for the device to come on however without a clock on the app you can only use the clock on your phone; which is always a few minutes out, if Dyson had an inbuilt clock on the app this way you would always know precisely what time the fan was turning on and off.The last drawback is the filters, I know we all without consideration replace our car filters for every service, and having something that not only cleans the air in your house, shows live information and also displays when the filters need to be replaced is awesome, I still feel that Dyson being true pioneers should find a way to make these filters washable, afterall they did get rid of the vacuum bag!Overall this device is a real quality product, supported by a user friendly app, I can't believe someone reviewed this device and wanted the price down to £150!!! Just the art like design and quality of this device itself makes it look twice that price, and then consider all of the features of this device and the excellent Dyson support team you get; you can't get that deal for £150, trust me, I would know, I'm a Yorkshire man!

Though refurbished, the warranty coverage from Dyson remains intact. I’ve had no problems with the unit, it’s good to know that the warranty is good just in case I do. I love the profile and features. It heats up a large room, 18’ x24’, in less than 1 hour. Its user friendly operation makes it easy to control the temperature, swivel, timing etc., and that’s what makes this feel like a true Dyson. Noise is minimal and for those wanting “white noise” while sleeping, this provides adequate sound levels for those wanting some noise. The small remote control allows the user to control the unit without much more than lifting the hand and working the buttons. Its small footprint won’t get in the way of designer trends.

This particular model is serving its purpose. To serve as a heater and air purifier for our parrots room. Saying that this unit cools is misleading. It's basically a creatively designed fan that technically cannot lower the temperature in a warm room differently than any fan.. But that's marketing. I agree with others that it's a shortcoming being unable to control the heat temp function from the Dyson phone which you can definitely do via the phone app for the Ecobee or Nest home thermostat. I think this has something to do with intellectual property compliance and not safety compliance. If it's compliant for Ecobee or Nest thermostat to have this function using their product app on your smart phone, why not the Dyson product phone app? Then there's confusion regarding the replacement filter. The new one recommended on the Dyson site is now an all-in-one filter rather than a separate carbon filter and HEPA filter. The confusion comes in when removing the separate filters on the original model and then replacing these two with the single combined filter. Online videos do not make it clear that you toss the used separate carbon filter that came on the original unit. The confusion comes because the new combined replacement filter looks very similar to the original HEPA filter with a slightly darker medium. Online videos aren't helpful with this switch and the replacement manual contains only images that show two different options which makes it seem like it's referring to two different units. As someone who worked in the product and packaging development department for a major retail products manufacturer, I can tell you that we did a far better job with user manuals on much more complex products like air compressors, power tools, etc.

The screen makes it very easy to see the air quality of the room its placed in with a colour change i.e. green been good and Purple severe.The fan depending on mode can be very quiet and I normally use the fan in automatic mode that said that the top setting the fan is not silent but certainly not loud, and still able to carry a conversation on which out any additional effort. The fan noise is the same regardless of the heating or cooling modes. What impressed me is how much air the fan can move, the fan it replaces was never able to output the same level of air and was also louder in operation. The directional airflow is excellent as it enables the air, hot or cool to positioned easily (namely on me). In my personal use, it both heats and cools rooms quickly.I love the Dyson Link app it means I always have the remote on me and for me, it’s the easiest way to use the fan. It allows me to review the additional information about air quality and make those micro-adjustments to the fan's direction getting the fan air just where I want it. The app is well design and layout, making all the key features easy to use and ensuring all the information is easy to access.A great fan, plus heater, plus purifier one that I didn’t even realise I needed, but now I don't want to be without.

Loved being able to ditch my space heater for one that purifies the air and heats, all with the mighty Dyson name. First thing I started to notice after a month or so was on power level 10 a high pitched ringing noise. I reduced to 9 and it stopped. Now sometimes it's happening at that level too which is annoying. Secondly I wish the air flow was more powerful at the higher settings therefore taking in more air particles and purifying better. Honestly I'm not sure how well it purifies the air because of this. The filters don't seem to get very dirty at all - especially by the time the device alerts me to replace it. As long as it's plugged in, even if you're not running it, it measures the air quality and provides numerous graphs on the app for monitoring your air quality. Searching around the internet for a reliable space heater yielded spotty results. However, if it gets really cold, just one device is probably not enough. It's more of a supplementary heater to be used with a primary heat source. As I type this review it's about 40F outside, and the display on the Dyson says the inside temperature is 69F. The heater is on full blast and about 2 feet away from me, but it still feels a little chilly. The air coming out feels more warm than hot, probably because of the ambient temperature. If you live in a place with truly cold winters, you definitely won't want to rely on this as your sole source of heat.That all said, it was 100% worth the investment, and I don't regret dropping the extra $100 on the 04 over the 02. The LCD screen makes it easy to operate and I enjoy being able to see air quality data displayed right there on the device. It would be nice if it did get a little hotter, but for its versatility I really can't complain.
