I bought this a few weeks ago in the hope that it would be better for dog hair than our current Dyson Big Ball. It is amazing!!!It does a great job at removing hair from the carpets (including mine!) and doesn’t tangle at all.I can vacuum the whole house so much faster than before. The unit is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre.I used the hair screw tool in the car boot, and this was also very effective. My only criticism would be that the non-cordless Big Ball vacuum is easier to use for the car, as you only need to hold the hose and whatever attachment you need, rather than the motor unit itself.Hopefully the battery lasts longer than the 2 years that others have experienced.Overall a great machine and life-changing for vacuuming hair!Would highly recommend ... MoreI bought this a few weeks ago in the hope that it would be better for dog hair than our current Dyson Big Ball. I'm so glad I bit the bullet and bought this vacuum. Always used corded competitor brands before and turned my nose up at the idea of cordless until my mum got one and I was tempted. It's definitely worth the price. I have a large dog that sheds as well as a cat and the hair in my carpets is no match for this vacuum. Even on regular power it cleans with little to no effort but on max power my carpets come up spotless. It's also great on hard floors where with my previous vacuum I had to sweep beforehand - this takes that step away and doesn't leave anything on the floor. I love that it quickly converts into a handheld which makes doing the stairs and the car a breeze, as well as being able to get the cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling with no hassle of fighting ... MoreI'm so glad I bit the bullet and bought this vacuum. Having the charger mount on the wall means I don't have to worry about forgetting to charge it and it charges really quickly. I can do a full clean on one charge. I havent used the fluffy head yet, only the anti hair wrap one as had no difficulty with this. I love the brush attachment - I use this to dust surfaces such as shelves, book cases, bed spindles, skirting boards and the coffee table when I'm too lazy to get the polish and cloths out! Love it and won't go back to corded now!

Having happily owned a V8 Absolute for many years, I didn’t take much convincing to remain a Dyson customer when the time came to update and upgrade. After doing my research the V10 Cyclone was a logical choice and having had it now for a couple weeks, I’m happy with my decision. The new tangle resistant motor head has really surprised me for its performance both on hard floors and carpet - and as I live with three long haired girls I feel like I’m a reliable endorsement. My only criticism is the battery, and battery indicator. On eco/low power mode, I got about 40 mins of vacuuming with a combination of the power head and dusting attachment, and interval depletion of battery. On a different occasion however, after only 3 mins of power head vacuuming a rug on medium ... MoreHaving happily owned a V8 Absolute for many years, I didn’t take much convincing to remain a Dyson customer when the time came to update and upgrade. Not sure what the cause is but I feel like it’s a power demand issue rather than a case of rapid depletion. Would give 5 stars were it not for this issue.

I'm writing this to provide a word about trouble shooting with the the V10. I bought one a few weeks ago because of its good reviews and easy maneuverability. But after I set it up in the charging dock and started to use it, it didn't always turn on when I pressed the trigger switch. However, when the power did engage, it worked great. I figured that there was a contact problem between the switch and the motor, so I called customer service for advice about this. They were gracious enough to send a new motor body, the part that has the switch. They also sent an email link to show how to easily replace the part. I figured replacing it would be easier than repacking everything and making a 60 mile round trip to the Costco where I bought it. I figured replacing it would be easier than repacking everything and making a 60 mile round trip to the Costco where I bought it. Here's the interesting part. Shortly before the new part arrived, I was noticed that the tiny filter light was flashing, but I hadn't vacuumed enough for it to be clogged but I checked it out anyway. I turned the cap a little and found that it wasn't screwed on as tight as it should be. Since I fixed that, the machine has worked perfectly. I didn't get anything from the instructions or from technical assistance warning to make sure that the filter cap is on tight. That would have avoided what we mistook as a defect. Now that the V10 works consistently, I love it. I'm a senior with lots of carpeting, and I really like the lighter and cordless V10 compared to the sweaty workout I get with my heavy corded vacuum. The V10 dust bin shows that it picks up as much or more dust as big vacuum does in the same amount of time, and it's so nice to be able get around many tight places and under furniture without getting tangled in a cord. In all, I'm now very happy with the V10 and the excellent customer service. But they should make it clear how important it is to have the filter cap tight.
I bought this as a birthday present for myself about 3.5 months ago. I LOVE the different suction levels and how much dust and fur it picks up. I have 3 medium-long haired cats, so I do touch up vacuuming every day. It works on my short "sticky" rugs that usually attract cat hair like Velcro. I can use it on my bath rugs that are a little shaggy - I do have to lift the head up a bit so it doesn't get stuck, but it works at the right angle. I vacuum my couch, my fuzzy bedspread, kitchen throw rug (with no problems), and hardwood floors.Sometimes it makes a high pitched whistling sound, I probably need to wash the filter. I may have filled it too much before emptying it a few times, when that happens the filter gets really warm and it smells like burning hair. I've already had to take the head apart to pull my hair and fur out of the mechanism that spins the roller - but it's not that difficult. The battery power is pretty amazing, I'm not sure how other reviewers are experiencing a short battery life - Dyson needs to be plugged in all the time when not in use to maintain its charge. My V6 would last me through my small first floor and get me up the stairs before losing its charge. This V10 gets me through my entire house with leftover juice to do some detail vacuuming and even hit up the basement! It's definitely louder than the V6, but only one cat is afraid of it, lol. My V6 actually still works 9 years later with some duct tape holding it together - I use that one around litter boxes =D.As for the attachment tools, I really only use the skinny detail tool. I'll probably try the bendy one to get in some spots that I really can't get into with any other tools. I tried the fur one - it mostly just spits the fur back out in little clumps in a different spot. I have never had any success with any of the ones with brushes or the lint removing fabric. I don't understand the one with the brush above the plastic detail tool, what is that even for?! One other thing, I have NO CLUE how to install the wall attachment and there aren't any directions - I'm too lazy to look for a video. I can't even figure out how to get together like it was when it came out of the box!Overall, I really love it, and I'm getting old if a vacuum is the best gift I've bought for myself, ha!
I bought this a few weeks ago when Costco put it on sale. Absent the sale I would not have bought it due to cost. I bought a much cheaper stick on Amazon but returned it without using due to difficulty emptying and restoring the waste container. This vac is super light and foes a great job with 2 cats. It picks up liter tracked out of the cat box ( I set on midfle power setting) but must approach in the forward direction based on power brush design but the is no problem. It does a great job on outdoor & indoor rugs, stairs & carpets. May never break out my Kirby Sentia again. Bought mostly for the stairs as cannot carry the heavy kirby up & down ( bad knees). We haven't had it but just a couple weeks, which is why I hesitated to go all-in with 5 stars. That said, so far it's a great vacuum. Is it worth the premium price tag? That I don't feel like I can say yet because I feel like, more than anything, I'm paying for it to last a long time and there's no way to know that yet.The first suction mode is all but useless, but the second does great on our hardwood floors and I haven't had an issue with battery life while using it. The boost mode is noticeably more powerful for bigger things or stubborn spots, but if you're using it on hardwood floors you should rarely need it. This is good because it's loud and a serious drain on the battery. It helps that I went into it realistic about what I could expect using our vacuum ... MoreWe haven't had it but just a couple weeks, which is why I hesitated to go all-in with 5 stars. The boost mode is noticeably more powerful for bigger things or stubborn spots, but if you're using it on hardwood floors you should rarely need it. This is good because it's loud and a serious drain on the battery. It helps that I went into it realistic about what I could expect using our vacuum normally. It says 60 minutes, but that's without a motorized attachment (which the main attachments are) and on suction mode one. Using it normally, I expected about a half hour and I would say that's been fair to what I've seen, if not a little better. I do watch the cup and make sure to empty it frequently so it doesn't get too full and clog the filter. You have to detach the stick to empty, but it's extremely easy to do and takes next to no extra time to just pop it off on your way to the trash can. I don't have any issues holding the trigger down and, maybe my hands are tougher than I give them credit for being, but it's not uncomfortable at all to hold it down while vacuuming and I actually like being able to quickly turn it on and off as I go. I do wish the battery was easily detachable, but Dyson reserves that feature for their most expensive models and I won't be spending $1000 on a stick vacuum...ever.Overall, I'm happy with our V10 and the attachments seem really nice although I haven't had a chance to use most of them yet. It certainly feels like a premium machine and, honestly, doesn't cost that much more than some of the competing high end stick vacuums these days (especially if you buy on a good sale, which we did). For me though, the biggest test will be time. I expect this vacuum to last us 10 years or longer and it will take at least five of consistent quality and no breakdowns for me to feel the cost is justified. My biggest thank you goes to Dyson for licensing a toy company to replicate their products. It's an older style, but my vacuum loving 3 year old is OBSESSED with our new Dyson and is going to absolutely love getting his own on Christmas morning 🙂
I want so badly to love this vacuum. It does a great job of vacuuming up dirt, grime, pebbles, dog hair etc.It is unfortunately an ergonomic nightmare for someone with carpal tunnel, and likely anyone with chronic finger, hand, wrist, arm, or shoulder pain.1. The trigger button must be held down. While on paper this doesn’t sound so bad it is made worse by the weight balance.2. The majority of the weight is at the top/handle of the device, meaning if you are squeezing the trigger, your wrist and hand are being asked to flex and rotate while the nerve/ligament are under tension. Idk, maybe this is a testament to how good it is at vacuuming, but prepare to make a trip to the bin for every few minutes of vacuuming.I think overall it is a fine vacuum for spot cleaning, and if you are young, fit, and tall it might be suitable for full house cleaning.Overall I think that it is probably a bit too expensive for a device that seems intended as a spot cleaning vacuum and not a households primary vacuum.
Unfortunately, I purchased a Dyson cordless vacuum. This was one of the worst purchases I have ever made. First and foremost, the vacuum does not pick up dirt even when it is on the highest suction setting. Indeed, immediately after using the Dyson, the floor needs to be swept because the Dyson does not do what it is supposed to do. Second, the trigger switch that turns the vacuum on is very poorly designed. It puts pressure on my finger which is quite painful. I would guess that the Dyson executives have never used the Dyson vacuum. If they had used it, the trigger switch would have been designed differently. Third, changing attachments is extremely difficult. The tubes for the floor attachment fit so tightly that it is almost impossible to remove them so a different attachment can be used. Fourth, it is very difficult to empty the dirt/dust bin. Dyson claims that there is no need to touch the dirt when emptying the dust bin. That is an outright lie. In order to empty the bin, I have to squeeze my hand up into the bin to pull the dust and debris out. Fifth, the Dyson vacuum is absurdly over priced compared to other vacuums which are infinitely better than the Dyson. In sum, the Dyson vacuum is the worst vacuum that I have ever had in terms of functionality, performance, and user friendliness. I for one will never buy another Dyson product. It is my individual, personal, subjective opinion, belief, and interpretation that I was ripped off by Dyson. The first one we purchased wasn’t all that powerful and kept giving an “Airway Blocked” error message no matter how thoroughly I cleaned every orifice after taking it completely apart every time. After three days of those shenanigans I got fed up and returned it to Costco. I was going to get my money back and purchase another that I saw on Amazon for around $119 on sale but decided to give this one another shot so just exchanged it. I’m glad I did, that first one must have been a lemon. I LOVE this vacuum cleaner. It’s lightweight, charges quickly, the accessories are perfect for my needs and there’s no cord to get in my way (my biggest pet peeve with a traditional vacuum cleaner). We have four dogs and a cat and they’re allowed on the furniture so you can imagine how often I vacuum…this little guy gets EVERYTHING. All the fur on my couch, all the dirt they track in on the carpet, and all the fur left collecting and gathering on the tile in kitchens and bathrooms (the different settings on the front of the vacuum are great!) I was just going to use this for quick jobs around the house and leave everything else to the big boy traditional Dyson vacuum we already have, but am giving the corded vacuum away as this handles everything and is a piece of cake to use. Yes, the canister has to be emptied often but it’s effortless and a small price to pay for what it does, plus I’ll choose emptying a canister over unwrapping/wrapping - and constantly maneuvering around - a long annoying cord any day. What can I say, I’m now a fan!!!
