I had low expectations for this. Mont Blanc is not known for unique creations, but this is legitimately a solid release. Explorer is a mass appealing, complimentgetting fragrance for men. The opening does resemble Creeds Aventus, but after about 30 minutes you would be hard pressed to accurately make that resemblance again. I would say that the core of this is about mixing clean and fresh. The cleanliness of the fragrance invokes a smell of being puttogether as in well groomed. Think about a man who just showered and shaved and is wearing an exceptionally tailored Italian suit. This fragrance also has an attractive and invigorating freshness. A charming, rugged, and attractive man thats adventurous but also very thoughtful. I honestly dont understand why he wasnt used as the fragrance marketing model. However, this fragrance can work for lots of personalities and ages. I have had multiple women ask me what I was wearing, and they told me that they asked because they wanted to buy this cologne for their boyfriend or husband. Its a fragrance that women want on their men, I can totally see why. Its masculine. Its clean and orderly. Its fresh in an invigorating going on a bold adventure type of way. Its also not another generic aquatic or spicy fragrance. This fragrance is a work horse, it can be worn in any situation at any time of the year. Its safe enough for the office, and with enough sprays, it can function as a clubbing scent. The performance is the only downside. I get maybe 4 or 5 hours with this, with 46 sprays, and projection and sillage are moderate. Overall, Mont Blanc Explorer wont make you stand out. No, this fragrance is not groundbreaking. However, its an energizing deviation from the common and over worn fresh and blue style fragrances.

This is the quintessential scent for the distinguished gentleman. It holds well to your body, and floats around you in a pleasant way without being annoying. It has such a natural, woodsy, bouquet, and you can feel more than smell the lemon in it. I wear it for just about all occasions. From work at the office, to a weekend family cookout, to boating on the lake during the summer, even for formal blacktie affairs. This is one classy scent, it holds true to the traditional heritage of its originator. After wearing this for a month or two dont be surprised if you find yourself yearning for some tea scones at 200PM in the afternoon Yes its THAT good, that it will transport your mind to the classic streets of Lonndon, and Derbyshire

This 2008 release by the house of Dunhill doesn't get talked about in the frag comm. Don't know why because it's a very nice smelling fragrance! In the opening you get a real burst of that Nettle note! As it starts to dry down it becomes woody with a touch of the lavender and jasmine notes. Performance is average. I only get about 5 to 6 hrs on my skin with 30 to 40 minutes of projection. But like I said, it smells really nice and it's pretty affordable.
