Great fun. I don't think anything could beat the original trilogy for me as they're some of my favorite games, but Tropical Freeze is a worthwhile game with charming visuals, SFX and an amazing music. While Funky Mode is advertised as a sort of easy mode, I actually find him very satisfying to play as because his moveset is extremely fluid.Though I wish Nintendo's RRP was a bit cheaper for this title given it's a Wii U port with a few extra features, the game is certainly worth a purchase nonetheless.

Played it for an hour or so with my brother in law. Didn't find it fun. Lots of trial and error on very hard parts, which is many parts. It made my head and eyes hurt. Very difficult platforming. Didn't find it very charming, lots of monkey sounds and slapstick comedy. I'm selling this game immediately. Time is precious, and there are other better games to play. I find few platformers that compare to Mario Galaxy, the best ever in my opinion.

This game gets to a point where it is just completely unejoyable to play. It is literally impossible to pass levels unless you play them over 100 times. The amount of objects you jump over and dodge is absolutely ridiculous. It is just not fun. I don't think I will ever buy another Donkey Kong game for the rest of my life. Really silly and sad.
Possibly one of the best platform games on the switch, very bright and colourful levels with a fantastic soundtrack. The difficulty raises when you get further into the game. The addition of funky mode will help as it gives you extra hearts and the fact that funky kong doesn't take much damage. Anyone who enjoyed the originals on the snes will have a blast with this game. 10/10

It feels great to play, with 3 different Kongs that change how Donkey Kong controls in the air, and it's fun to see how they react differently in each cutscene, which are also full of charm. I expected the vintage retro feel of Nintendo 64 reboot, much like they did with Mario RPG. This game was elementary, and super easy—I would only recommend this for kids.I was also disappointed that you couldn’t choose all the characters to play, you are limited to DK and Funky K, with the others as “powerups.” I grew up playing these games and thought it would be fun to reminisce in the same universe, perhaps with new twists from Switch—but DK has become a joke.
The review is for best buy. The game is 5 stars. I ordered this for pickup with another game during the mario sale. It was over 2 weeks and they couldn't give an estimate of when i would be able to pick up the game but when you checked online they had copies for sale. And even around in other stores they had copies yet i had to change ny pickup to delivery just to be able to get the game so they didn't cancel my order. Sad to say this was for a birthday present that was 2 weeks late. Son loves the game just disappointed in how best buy handled the situation.
