Generally, sockets are not built these days as stout as these are. Very thick wall construction, which does make them a little tight in some spaces - If I remember, I had a hard time getting them into some of the lug spaces on wheels. However, I have used these with my impact wrench a lot, and they are showing no signs of failure. I am not 100% sure that they are rated for impact, but I did it anyways. I am pleased with the performance.The grips on them.. I guess they are called "knurled beauty rings" are nice to get a not started before tightening it the rest of the way. Easy to hold on to, and easy to turn - even with greasy fingers and hands. My sockets are not as pretty as they once were, but they are still functioning fine. I have been restocking my tool chest and buying small kits to get exactly what I need. This 1/2 deep metric set is great and the price was excellent. Compared to the HF Pitts Pro, Tekton and Craftsman (older USA), these are just as good but the knurling makes them better! They bolw away all the China made Crapsman and Husky that I tossed.

While the thick wall speaks to their durability it may also create a problem while working in spaces where there is not a lot of distance between the bolt and the surrounding area (like if the head of the bolt were very close to a corner, etc.).This set comes in a sturdy case and the tray that holds the sockets can be removed but still keeps them organized. While the lid of the case is “transparent”, as mentioned in the overview, it’s a deep orange with the logo covering most of the area where the sockets are stored. I bought these for my son and for my daughter . I previously bought them both a set of tools but the sets did not include 1/2 in drive deep sockets. This set has a really nice finish on the sockets and it comes in a nice case to keep them organized. On the drive side of the socket, the beveling is normal. What I mean is, it’s like most brands of sockets. The socket has more contact with the tang on your ratchet; much more than with Husky sockets. If you have Husky sockets, you know what I mean. The beveling on the back of Husky sockets is pretty extreme and result in the socket not having much contact with the drive tang of a ratchet. Bottom line, these Dewalt sockets are really nice and a great price too. Buy them. They won’t disappoint you.
I bought this set to round out my 1/2" drive socket collection, which are all DeWalt, and I have been very pleased with the quality/price they offer. I used the largest one on a stuck bolt with a 30" breaker bar, and if that didn't break it, probably nothing will. Only minor complaint - corrosion resistance could be a little better; I left one outside in the rain overnight, and there was some slight surface rust starting inside the socket when I wiped it down to put it away the next day. Overall though they are a very good value.
I just got these, they appear to be good quality. I got them (both SAE and Metric sets) for jobs that requires more torque, instead of using the12 point set I have. They fit onto the recessed lug nuts on my utv, also. The reason I'm only giving them 4 stars, because I've haven't used them much.
I like to always start with Home Depot's Husky tool warranty, it can't be beat.. These sockets have a pretty thick wall so they should handle most of my jobs. They have a very good range of sizes for 1/2 inch particularly the small sizes: this set goes from 13mm to 24mm The package they come in has pretty neat features. If you have others like it they will lock in to each other and stack. If you want you can remove the black holder and put that in your tool box and it still keeps them separate.
Outstanding value! Very well made sockets with superior fit, finish, and chrome. The knurling is a nice touch, especially when your hands are covered in oil. I also like the tapered end on the smaller sizes. I purchased two sets, one for my main tool box and the other for my portable service box, and both sets are holding up nicely. I plan on purchasing a third set for my son tool box. BTY, the storage box is very nice indeed. The box socket tray is removable, so the box can be used for storage of other items you may want protected.
6point deep metric sockets are not a commonCombination. Most 1/2 deep sockets availableare 12point .I prefer 6point as I work on older cars less problem with rounding heads of bolts and nuts.The sockets are stout and haveHeld up to torque from a breaker bar.iwouldn'tUse an impact on them but that's not a good practice anyway. They appear to be as good as the more expensive hardware store brandsand much better than the cheaper store brands.
A good set of 6-point deep metric sockets in 1/2" drive. Comes with a case to hold the sockets, where you can remove the inner liner and use it for something else. Has 10 sockets from 13 to 24 mm, except missing 20 and 23 mm (rarely used). Not having a couple sizes drives some people nuts even if you know you will never use them! You can buy the missing sizes separately at a much higher price per socket, along with 10, 11, 12, 27, 28, and 30 mm. Maybe make this set bigger for slightly more money. (This review was reduced by one star because of the two missing sizes; a set like this should be more complete.)
