Decathlon - Quechua - 2 Seconds Easy Pop Up Fresh & Black Camping Tent - 2 Person

This tent costs more than most others of the same size, but it's well worth it. Unlike other 2s tents that fold into flat but bulky circles, this folds into a classic rectangle with square cross section which is easier for storage and transport.Probably the easiest tent to set up. However, despite what the video shows, it's really not easy to fold it neatly and compactly back into the bag. You can see badly kept bulging ones at Decathlon stores, i.e., even Decathlon staff struggle with keeping things back. Could really do with some insights from origami.Great design otherwise. Except for ropes and tent pegs, an ingenious all-in-one system with 2 layers set up at the same time. Haven't tried in any storms, but the details look like it can take moderate bad weather. Front and back doors allow for great ventilation, and the external layer can be opened fully or pegged for smaller openings.Wish it was more spacious too.All in all, a great product!

1 man not 2. Blackout is 80% super fast to put up

SETUP AND PACKUPGot to the site with a mate by the time she had started putting her poles together my tent was up it literally takes under a minute. I didn't realise it doesn't have guide ropes. Which is even a bigger plus. When it came time to pack away there was no complicated how do i roll this etc. pulled the pegs popped the ends and gathered everything up and put it in the oversized bag.Point of note if your putting it away wet it maybe worth having a strap then laying it down on the strap and wrapping the strap round it before putting it in the bag otherwise you will have to wrap your arms round a wet tent.PROSI bought this as i cant setup my 4.1 arpenaz at home to dry it out whereas this is free standing. the door each side was really nice in hot weather ... MoreSETUP AND PACKUPGot to the site with a mate by the time she had started putting her poles together my tent was up it literally takes under a minute. The little porches will take a backpack and boots each side. nice weight and pack size for my motorbikeCONS 2MAN?This is not small enough to be a backpacking tent this is a festival or motorbike tent. If used as such this needs to hold more gear than what you will probably fit in the outside porches. You can use a double cot bed to have space underneath but how will you get changed or access the stuff underneath without opening the doors as there will be no side gap? not ideal if its raining. They do a 3 man version however its £100 more much heavier and a bigger pack. there is a 20cm gap between the end of my single airbed and the tent. sides slope in so a cot bed will amplify that moreCONS BLACKOUT?I have heard Coleman do full blackout this is not that. on a bright sunny day you can see stuff inside your tent not enough light to read by though. Light bleeds from under the tent as it doesn't sit low on the sides. From both ends where they sit even higher. From the top vents and from the sides themselves which looks more like a starfield than black sheet. in theory they could totally black the bedroom however how would you get air flow through the mesh doors if they were blacked out? The blackout is dark enough for most people i use a eyemask to get ultra blackFINAL THOUGHTS....I don't enjoy setting up and taking down tents especially if its raining. For the speed alone this tent is awesome. Blackout is good. My main use is solo rally camping and for that it excels. if i go with my partner i will take the 4.1 arpenaz for space. This tent will work with 2 if its for regular camping and your not taking a ton of stuff. in heavy rain if you open the outer door the bedroom will get wet only way to avoid it is a small porch addon. great tent otherwise

Absolutely fantastic!

Did so many motorcycle trips with this tent. I rarely write reviews but i love this product so much that i recommended to my friend who bought it and we both travel on bikes and love it.... the fact that we need to set up tent everyday when we travel around to different locations, this quick set up is fantastic!!! We also love the blacked inside , just everything is great! Totally recommended. And because of this mechanism u sacrifice a little bit of it being sightly larger bag when packed down, but surprisingly its only little larger than other tents in the same category. I consider this tent to be my best purchase in my adventures. Whoever designed this tent come forward i owe you beers!

Amazingly easy

I bought this tent for working at a festival in August 22 I was going alone and I’m rubbish and impatient at putting tents up as well as not wanting to carry anything heavy while at the same time I didn’t want to look like a lightweight 🤣 It was so unbelievably hot no shade and long hours of working so my tent was my haven. So light, so easy to put up and take down and cool when I needed it and warm when I needed it at night . Loads of space I had a single blow up so I could have all my belongings with me and still lots of room. Love the fact that there’s a front and back door for a breeze to blow through. Cannot fault this tent . Worth every penny and I was the envy of the site. Ideal for travelling light and needing no effort.

Excellent Tent

I bought this to take my two young children camping, due to our family tent being to difficult for me to set up alone.It was incredibly easy to set up and take down. It fit my double 10cm Vango mattress, which I’m thrilled with. Plus, the bedroom is dark and keeps out the light.Overall, it is an excellent tent that’s easy to use. I’m very happy with my purchase. If you’re on the fence about this tent, I throughly recommend you give it a try.

Fantastic tent, could have a few minor improvement

I love that it’s blackout, it made sleeping-in a dream and kept the tent so cool despite solid sunshine from 5am. The doors either side are handy generally and let you get a nice breeze. There are lots of useful pockets inside for storing stuff like phones and wallets, and a rope at the top for hanging a light. Putting it up and down is literally a 2min job.The only minor downsides are that it’s pretty heavy and relatively large (though nowhere near as large as circular pop-up tent); this is no issue if you’re going car camping, but if you’re walking miles at a festival, give it to a strong, tall person to carry, or bring an Ikea bag to be able to sling it on your shoulder.The other niggle (which is hopefully improved in future designs), is that there’s not much ... MoreI love that it’s blackout, it made sleeping-in a dream and kept the tent so cool despite solid sunshine from 5am. Great idea - but underlying fault

i bought this tent for a two week trip only to realise that one of the plastic network of arms had snapped on the hinge making this tent useless for the trip - for the one night i managed to tape it up being in the middle of no where in Saudi Arabia. I subsequently took this tent back (a 2.5hr drive back to Riyadh) and replaced it with another to realize that the the arm was now popping out of the material keeping it up - again at great distance form the store.This tent is a fantastic idea and would be great if it worked and more importantly was reliable. Really nice tent but with a few issues

It could be a great tent and maybe for some people it will be. The Fresh & Black function is genius, I'm surprised other tents don't have this and haven't had this before. Also it's quick and easy to put up, it's a cool shape and the ability to open the front and back is brilliant.The downsides: It doesn't have a proper ground sheet, if you put this on rough ground or mowed nettles etc they may pierce straight through. And the measurements are actually wrong. It says Bedroom 145 X 205 cm but actually it's more like 140 X 190 cm which I discovered when my double air mattress didn't fit. Reluctantly had to return it, swapped it for the Fresh & Black XL Pop Up tent which is bigger, has a proper ground sheet and a porch.

The Perfect Tent!

For single campers, this really is the PERFECT tent! It’s also ideal for 2 campers, but you might struggle with room for backpacks etc.The tent is extremely well made, waterproof, and literally take seconds to erect or easily pack away! The inside black is stupidly black, so its likely you’ll lay in during early summer sunrises! I camp solo with a double VANGO inflatable mattress, which fits perfectly inside; but if 2 are camping, they’ll be no extra room to store backpacks, food coolers etc other than at your feet or in the outer vestibules (a car or another tent). NB I’m 5’11” and room inside is easily generous enough. I love the mesh inner and zipped access from both sides of the tent. There’s a good number of storage pockets for your phone, wallet, keys etc, and a handy hook on the roof for a light. I mostly camp alone and use my 6-berth inflatable for 3 day+ stays, but when I’m not doing a lot of cooking and want a quick pitch, and something snug and cosey, this is the one I chose! In fact, I love this tent so much, I’ve just ordered the 3-person version. It’s not cheap at nearly double the price, especially when compared to other tents, but I think for the design, quality and ease of use, its money well spent. The 3 person is the ideal way to have more room for one or two people, but still retain the snugness and ease of managing as this version.Again, expensive at face value, but once you’ve pitched, you’ll quickly recognize its value. 100% recommended!

The perfect tent

For what it is, there is little to critise this tent for. It is a little heavier than a "normal" tent, but packs down small and the extra weight it worth it for the stablity, ease of putting up and the complete blackness inside. I wish my bedroom at home was as dark as this! It is a typical 2 man tent, in that, if there is two of you, there is little room for anything else instead but that isn't unique to this tent! It does have pockets for storage, as well as a rope and hook across the roof for a towel and hanging a torch (which you will need even in the middle of the day!). The only real critisim I could lay at it's door is that it isn't perfect in really wet weather, as the door slopes back and when you unzip water can just go straight down onto your bedding.
