Dawn Platinum Advanced Power Dishwashing Liquid Fresh Scent 90oz

This new scent is horrendous. A quick glance at the bottle and it looks to be the same soap I buy, but it's not. I wish there was some bigger warning that you guys changed the scent formula! When I went to wash my dishes I started gagging and thought it must have been something left over on a plate. It wasnt until after I got out an old bottle and saw that there was a difference in the names. Im glad I'm not the only one who's had issues with the soaps new scent but will anything be done? I see that in replies you mention that the product was put through "testing" and whatnot but it feels like the only testing done was someone taking a quick sniff and calling it a day. Amazing product

I Love Dawn, I not only use it for my dishes , but oily food stains on clothing tooAnd here’s a real testament to this product …..I was repainting my BBQ with Rustoleum , an oil based , thick“black “ hear resistant paint .I accidentally spilt some of this paint on my beautiful wood deck , boy ,I thought , I’ve really ruined it……Then I thought to myself , I’ll try using my Dawn 4X on it……squirted a large amount on , and left it for awhileCame back scrubbed the deck , with a scrub brush , rinsed it a few times ….. unbelievably the paint was gone ,and that part of my deck was cleaner than the rest…….Amazing product……I remembered seeing the commercial with the oil soaked ducking……..It really worksThanksDouglas Turner. ……

Bring back Original Scent

I have no idea what your product developers or business development folks were thinking when they discontinued the Platinum line in Original Scent. Whatever they were thinking, it has resulted in a bad decision.I have used Dawn products for too many years to count. I never looked at other products. And I have enjoyed the Original Scent in the higher power product lines (Oxy, Platinum) greatly. I am ready to throw away a large bottle of the disgusting "refreshing" rain. It smells like really bad, really cheap hairspray.I am actually considering sniffing other products when I am next in the grocery.I have purchased Original Scent in the Ultra but it too honestly doesn't smell the same as OS in the Platinum line. Well, I've read many of your reviews. It looks like your fragrance change is not doing as well as intended.However, i'm here for a different reason, and that is "cleaning ability".This "Dawn Platinum 4X Faster" product has lost so much "cleaning ability", I'd be ashamed to call it a "Dish washing Liquid". This stuff has lost the ability to clean our dishes, being washed with a sponge. The Liquid just doesn't "soap up", and get the dishes "squeaky clean", as the previous Dawn products.Did the government tell you to remove the cleansing agent from the product, because it was harming somespotted owl?THIS Liquid SUCKS big time now. I won't go back to regular dish soap again

So my boyfriend and I went to the grocery store this past weekend and next to my normal blue dawn dish soap was the four time platinum dish soap so I told him maybe I'll buy that instead but I thought wow it's more money for a smaller bottle. So I bought it anyways because I wanted to see if it worked any better than the Blue Dawn which the regular blue dawn works Great. So I was washing dishes a couple nights ago with this soap and I thought I love the smell of it I think it's the fresh rain or something like that. So I put it in my pan that the blue dawn would work but I used to have to scrub even harder than what I just did the other night with this four times Platinum soap. So the next morning not even thinking about it I went into my basement and we have been having a lot of issues with our wash tub and the drain in our basement floor with the water backing up and we really didn't have the money to call the plumber because they said the next time they would come out it would cost us between 5 and $600 or more depending on what they had to do. My boyfriend and I three weeks ago when we started having the plugging issues we bought some plumbing stuff and some of it seemed to work just a little tiny bit but not much and I'm not going to put any other brands out here even though it's all plumbing stuff It seemed like the last thing we used worked a lot better but the water was still going down in the wash tub very slowly still but it was moving a little faster but our floor was still backing up and we couldn't understand why. Anyways to get to the main part of the story here I had used the Dawn Platinum for all of my dishes the night before And when I left the water go into the sink to drain it made a weird noise and I was like what the heck is that again not questioning it. The next morning I went down to do a load of laundry and all of the water that was on the floor was down into the drain in the floor and the water was down 6 in into that drain and it hasn't been like that in over a month. So me being the savvy cleaning person that I am I put down a quarter cup of baking soda 2 cups of vinegar along with probably three tablespoons of the dish soap and let me tell you that water coming out of the drain is not black and sludgy anymore and the water is staying down. I'm definitely going to do a review of this dish soap on my YouTube channel because when I find something that is my go-to that really works I want to put it out there because I'm an honest person and if something doesn't work I'm not going to write a review on it or take my time to make a video on it if it's not true. I'll give my honest opinion about something but I'm not going to boast or brag about something that works when it doesn't. Thank you Dawn for saving the day. You do not know how much money you saved me by buying a $4 bottle of dish soap.

New Refreshing Rain scent gives me headache

I swear by Dawn Platinum. I use it a lot during the day for hand-washing dishes and kitchen cleanup. I just opened a newly-purchased bottle and found it nauseating. Thought it was just a bad bottle until I read these other reviews about the "improved" scent. The scent is now on my counters where I cleaned up and lingering in the kitchen, and I have a bad headache. Noticed it immediately upon putting some of this in the sink. I also have used Dawn Platinum for years to clean our pool cover several times a week - it removes dust and dirt while being gentle enough not to eat up the plastic, and left a pleasant smell (And the covers saves lots of water from evaporation here in Calif.) I’m not much of a “recommends products to people” type of guy, but one of the few exceptions has always been the dawn platinum for its genuinely superior cleaning ability—it’s something that I am very quick to mention to people and recommend over more expensive products or time intensive home-made cleaners.However.The new refreshing rain scent formulation has made it near impossible for me to keep the hand wash dishes clean in our house lately. The second I flip open the bottle, that pungent perfume makes my stomach churn, and if I was more than two dishes at a time, I unfailingly develop a headache. If there was at least a sticker on the front or something on the label, I would have smelled it in the store and known to steer clear.

The New Rain Scent perfume made my hands break out

I have used the Original Dawn Platinum since it first hit the shelves. I LOVED it and recommended it highly. I had some stocked up, so I didn't realize right away that the scent changed. I recently opened a bottle and was overwhelmed by the new perfume smell. The bottle looks exactly the same, so I went to store after store looking for the unscented/original Platinum. I did some research and discovered it isn't available any longer without the horrible smell. Not only does the stink give me a headache, but the perfume also made my hands dry out and crack. Now my knuckles are bleeding, dry and itchy. I threw the two brand new bottles I just purchased in the trash.

What’s that funky smell

This review is in general. Dawn I have come across so many people posting that Dawn makes their dishcloths and sponges smell bad funky. I never experienced it until recently. I couldn’t understand what was causing the funky smell around my sink. I change my dishcloth daily and put my sponge in the dishwasher so I know they are clean.. I used bleach in the sink and cleaned the garbage disposal but still smelled that nasty smell. Smelling the dishcloth after doing the dishes and it was so unpleasant. What is causing this issue? So many people are asking the same question. I use Dawn in a lot of different ways Dishes, laundry, spot removal, windows because it’s a great product but the after smell is just becoming too much for me. Any suggestions?

I've been using Dawn Platinum exclusively for years, last time I purchased it I just grabbed the "big blue bottle" off of the store shelf and brought it home. A couple weeks later when my old bottle ran out I went to the pantry, grabbed my new soap, and started washing dishes. I almost fainted the smell is sooooo bad!!! It smells like an overpowering vintage perfume. Why would you do that?? Its bad enough that I'm trying to get rid of the garlic smell from my dishes and pans but once you mix the 2 together, I just cant even explain how bad it is. I give it 2 stars because I still like the cleaning power however due the smell I can not use it for my dishes. Please bring back the old formula.
